This book was a real honest view of the struggles of motherhood, social media, and keeping it all together!
It was a quick read that I really enjoyed.

April is a divorced single mom of 3 who is trying to manage her career, kids, and keep the house together. Jack
is a fixer who has a plan to get her social media/career back on track after a live stream turned disasterous. Jack
comes to the recuse of not just her work life, but shows her how to be herself again. I loved all the interactions
with the kids and her girlfriends.

I loved this book in all aspects and watching their relationship grow.

April Davis is a newly single mom with a social influence platform of teaching moms how to be calm with yoga. But when a live video of her being anything but calm goes viral, she needs help. That's where her contact with the company that markets her brand comes in. Jack Gibson is used to helping people but kids are something else altogether. While Jack is helping April find her calm again, there's something exciting between the two of them.

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and this is my honest, voluntary review. I love the Mommy Wars series and this book is no exception. The book's well-written with wonderful characters. I really enjoyed April's path from slightly frazzled single mom to knowing that she can be a "calm mom" and still have a bad day which is absolutely okay. It was great reading about friendships and how April's friends are there for her and I loved how April learns that she doesn't HAVE to be alone if she doesn't want to. I was drawn into the story from the start and kept hooked until the end. The book's both humorous and romantic, a definite must-read which I highly recommend.

I enjoyed this book. I always enjoy Christina Hovland’s books. This series falls a little flatter for me than, say, the Mile High series, but I think preferences within an author’s catalog are to be expected. The dialogue was snappy, the story flowed well, all in all a really pleasant read.

Christina Hovland does it again!! This book is honest, so funny, has all the feels & such wonderful characters!! April is a divorced single mother trying to juggle a career, children & running a household. Jack is her boss (also Rachel’s brother, Rachel was in previous book) who comes to her to help her get it together. They are a great couple who try to fight being together but eventually get their HEA. You will be laughing out loud when reading this!! Her support group of friends are amazing too, especially Kitty who is just hilarious!! Do yourself a favor & get this book!! I received an arc from Netgalley & the author for an honest review!!

I don't think I have laughed out loud so much at a book while at the same time - felt so emotionally connected to the characters. April is a single mom and influencer whose main focus is on finding the calm in the wildness that is being a mom. Her career is on the rise when disaster in the form of a live gone epically wrong. Jack is a manager for influencers - and April is one of his most promising clients. Jack is the brother of one of April's best friends (Rachel from Rachel Out of Office). He's a workaholic and has never been in a relationship - but he travels back to Denver when all hell breaks loose after the live - and Rachel needs hands on help.

Watching Jack bond with April's children and learn that maybe his work isn't really enough for him - and April learn that she can lean in to her support network so that she doesn't have to do it all alone. There are too many powerful moments in this book to count.

One of the best things about this book is the bright light it shines on women supporting other women - and the power that comes with that. April has a true team of women supporting her - including her friends and neighbors. She also proves she walks that walk as she learns to trust herself again.

Another aspect of the book that was so refreshing is that April's kids aren't perfect little robots - they are pretty normal age appropriate children. And the lifestyle isn't all sunshine and roses - in between brief hilarious moments of chaos. April is drowning in laundry and meal prep - and the things that are very relatable to life that are so seldom mentioned in books.

I adored this book just as much as I did the first in the series - but you can 100% read this book as a standalone.

I was very luck to receive an ARC of this book from NetGalley, but these opinions are all my own.

April is trying to keep her head above water after her husband leaves her and their three children. As the Calm Mom, April has made a career out of teaching yoga and calming techniques to other moms online. However, when a video of her being less-than-calm while shopping with her kids goes viral, all of the work that she has done begins to unravel. Luckily, Jack comes to help. His job is to fix messes like this, and he is fantastic at it. Of course, when Jack has to move into April’s spare room, they grow closer, and the dynamics of their relationship begin to change.

April has a lot on her plate, and she struggles to juggle everything life throws at her. She is a well-developed protagonist who shows a lot of growth throughout the story. I think a lot of people will relate to the highs and lows and chaos of her everyday life. She is going through so many changes, but with the support of her friends, family, and Jack, April slowly comes to realize her strength and worth.

Jack is also well-developed and likable, and his relationship with April and her kids is fantastic. The dual perspective definitely gives you an in-depth view of each character’s thoughts, feelings, and backgrounds, which I liked. Neither April nor Jack are perfect characters, and they both make mistakes, but they also both face their flaws and errors, and they grow.

The secondary characters are also great, especially the kids and April’s best friend Kitty. They bring so much fun and humor to the story, as well as some really touching moments. I also like how Jack and Kitty help April gain confidence and realize her value. They make a great team and have such a good impact on each other. Their friends-to-lovers romance is gradual and slow-building,

April May Fall is a fun and sweet contemporary romance, and though it is part of a series, it can totally be read as a standalone. I think romance readers that are looking for a light and charming read with some great messages will enjoy this one! Thanks so much to NetGalley, Entangled Publishing, and the author for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.

I was really excited to read this book. As a mom and a yoga teacher; It had so much potential to be relatable.
April was not very relatable. I found her whiny and in a society where so many are working hard to advocate for moms to ask for help and to acknowledge burnout this just took a lot to get to that point.
Also the cultural appropriation and white washing of yoga was disappointing. And the sexualize of yoga was just a big nope for me.
This book did not live up for me and I wouldn’t recommend I’m sorry

I was really enjoying this book until I realized what an ineffectual, weak parent April is. She does come through towards the end of the book though. As a matter of fact, I find that most books about mothering have been along these lines lately. The parents are so afraid of any sort of discipline. I must be of the wrong generation to appreciate these new guidelines.

I can see how the romance will progress, and so far, it is quite cute. As I finish this book, the 'romance' gets quite steamy and though they don't want it, stronger feelings prevail-and no I'm not spoiling this book, since this is the way most of these books go!

The neighborhood friends are just the types of people I would claim as friends too!

Rant

My issue at the moment is just exactly when did children become the adults in these relationships? When did adults get so wishy-washy that they bribe their children to get them to do what they are told? Why are there no longer consequences to children's misbehavior?

The Mommy Wars are alive and kicking on the internet in this new stand alone book by Christinia Hovland.
April May Fall is a great read for anyone who is struggling to hold their life together despite what the world wants to throw at them. All the yoga in the world is not helping April reach her inner calm. Good thing she has such good friends who will look out for her.

April Davis is trying to keep her life on track after her husband walks out on her and their 3 children. A viral video threatens to undo all the work she has done to become an influencer. Enter Jack, her handler, it is his job to make everything right and he is perfect at his job.

Things start to heat up between Jack and April when he is forced to move into her spare bedroom. I love how their relationship unfolds from this point on. Jack handles April and her children’s emotions with great care.

April is thrown for a loop when her big live interview takes a turn for the worse. It is at this point that we see the real April and she is awesome!!!

I thought this book did a good job of being a "modern day" romance story. I tend to be annoyed with the whole idea of "influencers" and the superficiality of that, so I struggled to like the main character, April. That being said it was a cute little love story but just lacked depth for me. Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing, LLC for a copy of this book for an honest review.

April May Fall by Christina Hovland felt like a roller coaster ride read. The beginning flat-lined (for me) then I hit a high spot but then it all came sailing down and I wondered with so much of the book left how it was going to be salvaged.

April is an influencer who claims to be the Calm Mom, demonstrating yoga and calm feelings. Since her divorce she is anything but and a meltdown in a grocery store puts it all out there on social media. Now Jack who’s in charge of her “persona” flies in to save April’s career as an influencer. Of course, Jack is sexy and adorable but can he save April after all of this mess? #urinemom

First of all, I never accepted April as being anything near a Calm Mom, even when she seems half-way rational she still seems like she’s on the edge of eruption. Perhaps, if the novel had started a year or so earlier, before April’s husband, Kent, cheated on her (evidently sending her into an emotional nosedive) and we saw some form of this supposed “Calm Mom,” I might have believed it. As is, nope. April is a hot mess and there’s no indication that she hasn’t always been that or on the verge of that.

That said, once Jack showed up on the scene, April May Fall gathered momentum and I began loving it. But then April and Jack got together and it just seemed like the book lost its path. Also, they didn’t quite have chemistry. Best friend sex. At the beginning I was astounded when there was a line that said that Jack would be interested in the kind of woman April was because I wondered why. We never see her when she isn’t a mess.

However, April does become somewhat self-sufficient and declares that women should support other women and yet she’s constantly ridiculing one of my favorite characters from the novel, Kitty. Now, for some reason, as the eccentric Kitty character progressed in the novel I totally saw her as Kristin Chenoweth. Kitty is April’s neighbor who is eccentric and fun, and I seriously would have loved to have read an entire novel about her rather than April. It’s a shame that she just seemed to be the butt of April’s jokes or eye rolls.

Unlike Hovland’s other novel in the series, Rachel, Out of Office, which I reviewed in January, April May Fall was missing the laughs and warm feelings. While I loved April’s kids, especially Harmony who is going to grow up to be a superhero, and the wonderful friendship that April’s group of women shared, it all felt a little superficial. At the end, I just wanted more. Maybe that’s what comes with a novel about a somewhat social media influencer.

I really love this series. April Davis is a single mom, struggling with three young kids and a mostly absent ex-husband. She is an on-line influencer, known as the Calm Mom. During a live stream with her kids, everything that can go wrong does, and the video goes viral. Jack Gibson is the media manager for her brand and has to come and help her re-establish her as the Calm Mom. Jack and April are lovely characters who need to get beyond their fears to get to their happily ever after. I think what really put this over the top for me was Jack’s interaction and growing love for April’s kids. While this is part of a series, it can be read as a stand-alone (though the first book was a delight as well, so you really should read it). I received an advanced reader copy of this book from NetGalley and the author for my honest review.

I liked this book a lot. It helped me get out of a reading slump because it was very easy to get through.

The story was well written and I loved the influencer part of it. The main character being a divorced mom who is a social influencer is really up to date with today’s society in my opinion. You don’t need a man to accomplish what you want.

The slowburn romance in this book was fun to read but sometimes it took a bit too long and it made the storyline a bit boring for me.

The characters in this book are great! I loved the kids in this book. They made it a lot more fun.

Overall, this book was a cute romance with great characters and a good story.

I enjoyed reading this book; there were quite a few scenes that made me laugh, especially those that involved the children and neighbors. I liked seeing April's personal growth and liked both her and Jack's personality. However, I didn't feel the romantic connection between them and felt the story dragged quite a bit without that connection.

This is an entertaining, well-written, humorous, fast paced, steamy, contemporary romance novel. It has likable, well developed, engaging characters, a quirky neighbor, supportive friends, cute animals, a beautiful song, sizzling chemistry, a heart-warming romance, numerous laugh out loud moments, and a happily ever after ending. The children and their antics are hilarious! The quotes from moms and authors (and a surprise movie quote) at the beginning of the chapters are very enjoyable. I am looking forward to reading Ms. Hovland's next entry in her outstanding "Mommy Wars" series with great anticipation. Each novel in the series can be read and enjoyed as a stand alone, but they are even better when read in order.

Christina Hovland has done it again for me. I really enjoyed April May Fall. I found April to be a very likable and real person. I know many women will be find her relatable with relief struggles following a divorce. The bond she has with her friends in envy worthy. I imagine Jack is a man divorcees dream of finding especially those with children from previous marriages. Together they are a perfect match.

"April May Fall": 3⭐

(Unpaid Review: thank you to @netgalley, @christinahovland and the publishers for allowing me to read this eArc copy in exchange for a review.)

So, this is my first read by this author. It was pleasurable and very intriguing to see the main character ravelling and flourishing through her divorce. A story of self-discovery and growth - we love to see it!

However, April and Jack 👎🏻 I felt like these characters weren't really making a connection! They really needed to FEEL, they really needed to get to know each other more. I thought it was just really forced.

Even so, this book is really cute and enjoyable and that cover just really gets all the attention!
