Saints are a subject I know very little about, so I can't speak to the factual accuracy of these profiles. I can tell you that each story is short and easy to understand, just a couple of paragraphs that teach the reader a moral and religious message. This book would make a nice gift for a middle grader or could work well as a part of a religious home-school curriculum.

Perfect for the classroom.

A beautifully illustrated book with a diverse representation of Catholic saints. Ideal for children who are curious about religion/Catholicism or who are being raised in the Catholic faith. Even those that are not Catholic will enjoy learning about these people, and the book does not push Catholicism as a belief system. As an adult, this is a must for my bookshelf. Along with the more well-known saints and their feast days, this book also brings attention to some lesser-known (but equally important) saints. I especially appreciated the opening pages that define "saint" within the Catholic Church.

This is a lovely little daily devotional book. The writing is generally accessible to kids, though it does talk about some grisly ends (in non-graphic terms.) One thing of note though is that though this book seems aimed a young kids, there are no illustrations or icons. There are some on the cover, so I was surprised to find none with the devotions. Overall, this is a good kids introduction to the saints.

I'm not a super religious person, but I did grow up in a Catholic family. I am interested in religions and mythologies and find this interesting from a scholarly perspective., but it is definitely made for children of the Catholic faith. The illustrations and page set ups are really lovely. I just wish there was more information about the saints. It can still be one page long, but most of the info is kind of vague. Still a great book for a young Catholic child to learn about the saints, how to worship and be a caring and giving person, and to teach Bible verses!

A Saint a Day: 365 True Stories of Faith and Heroism is a devotional book for children. Readers will learn about a different saint each day.

I wanted to read this book because I am interested in church history and found the idea of learning more about saints in a devotional book both interesting and inspiring.

This is a beautifully designed book. The cover art is appealing and the small hardcover book is also sturdy and well made. There is a place inside the book for a gift inscription, and this would be a lovely gift - especially at Christmas, so children could start reading in the New Year.

Each devotional is on one page, with the dates of the saint's life, a Bible verse, and a short biography. The book concludes with a short one line prayer for the day inspired by the reading.

The writing is engaging and the details about the saints' lives are really interesting! I think the short, lively entries will engage and inspire children who read this book through the year.

I highly recommend A Saint a Day, especially as a gift - and a source of inspiration and learning through the upcoming year.

An ok format if you are only going to provide one page of information for a saint. Dates and spiritual quotes and information about a saint once a day. Mostly organized by a date relevant to that particular saint.

One page (in my opinion) is not enough space to give enough recognition and detail about the saints. I really wanted to like this book.

Thank you to NetGalley, Meredith HInds the author and the publisher Thomas Nelson: CHILDREN'S for the opportunity to review the advance review copy of A Saint a Day: 365 True Stories of Faith and Heroism in exchange for an honest review.

Love the layout and design of this! I'm a Protestant, not a Catholic, but I appreciated learning more about these heroes and heroines of the Christian faith. Thanks for adding this, Netgalley!

I really like the book. There was a lot of saints that I hadn't heard before.
Every day has a story of saint. I think there was a lack of important information about some saints. But I understand that it's a short biography.
I expected more illustration because it's for kids.
Thank you Netgalley and publisher for free ARC in exchange of honest review. All thoughs are my own.
4.5/5

A saint a day was an amazing yet informative book on Saints who gave up their normal lives for Jesus. I loved learning about these saints and spent time googling their stories.
Loved this book and would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a new devotional to inspire them to live for christ

Charmingly illustrated, this book for children has a one-page profile of a saint for each day. Included are the dates for the saint, where he or she lived. This is followed by a Bible quote, a brief biography or anecdote about the saint, and a short prayer. A sidebar gives a fun fact about the saint. The saints are mostly presented on their feast days, giving parents plenty of ways to go deeper into the stories of these heroes of God.

thank you Netgalley and Ms. Hinds for the free copy of this book. I like the general look of the book and how many saints can be found. I think more illustrations of the saints will be nice. I also like how its engaging for kids because of the not so long descriptions. I hope there are also activities in between and not just saints.

This is an excellent daily devotional that focuses on the saints of the Catholic Church. Each page gives a brief paragraph about a different saint for the day. The paragraphs are brief enough to share with young children but adults will get just as much out of this book. I'll be adding this one to my personal collection for my children. I have many saint books that are far too detailed so this will be a great change.

I found this book quite exciting! It is literary one saint a day and they assign the day instead of the number which I prefer (ex. Jan 7, instead of just Day 7) since it makes it easier to keep track of where you are. The information is short and to the point, with interesting info; however, I would have loved if that added info about praying to a Saint if you need help for x or y situation. Overall, this is a book I look forward to reading at the end of each day.
