I love Sarah's Scribbles so much, and this one made me laugh out loud too!
If you are a booklover (pretty sure you are!), a cat lover, an introvert (!!), you will love this one too. Some comics are specifics for Millenials or Gen-Zs, but overall everyone can enjoy this collection of comics!
Many thanks to the publisher for the complimentary e-copy of this book through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
all Sarah's scribbles are amazing and weirdly relatable. I follow her on Instagram so it is a repeat of some artwork but it still is a good laugh.
I love the funny quirky illustrations by Sarah Anderson! So although I could not originally download the file I went a got me a copy so I could enjoy it. So many of her humorous situations, I identify completely with. Always recommend this author!
Millennial, cat-loving introverts unite in this fourth installment in Sarah Andersen's collection of comics. I found them humorous and completely relatable to my own life, despite being a dog person. Most of them follow the same general themes (anxiety, introverts, millennial vs. gen z), but as it still made me laugh I have no issue with staying in a comfortable niche. I really love how she tackles anxiety and the strips with the brain and serotonin, talking about the wide variety of mental states, and how there is nothing wrong with that, is always a positive. My only complaint is that I read it too quickly and craved more of Sarah Andersen's take on things. The drawings are simple and effective, and would rate the cat drawings 10 out of 10.
Thank you for the ARC from NetGalley for my opinion.
I love Sarah Anderson and this book was as usual really relatable and really enjoyable! I love reading and viewing her comics! Overall I liked this book! If your looking for a fun and cute comic series, I highly recommend checking her comic series out, or checking her instagram! She's so great! Her comics always make me laugh!
As with all Sarah Andersen books, this was a fun and quick read. I didn't find this as funny as her other books, but that could be because of all the millenial/Gen Z jokes that went over my head.
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC for an honest review.
Sarah Andersen is at it again with another delightful collection of comics about being a weirdo in the world. Loved Oddball so much.
I love Sarah Andersen and have enjoyed her previous books immensely, so I was eagerly looking forward to this new one. It did not disappoint, and in fact, I was pleasantly surprised. This was the best book yet, leaving me crying with laughter throughout. Sarah's work has matured and evolved. Her drawings have more depth and the humor has sharpened. I highly recommend this new work. It is a bright spot in this dark time of pandemic anxiety.
This comic was undoubtedly the highlight of my week. Though I had seen the author's work around, I wasn't super familiar with their style or subject matter. Cue my surprise and delight when I found the art and theme completely and utterly relatable. I loved, loved, loved this book!
I'm new to Sara Andersen, but I have to say I LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS BOOK!! She had me giggling from start to finish which I've never done before when reading a book. Laughter truly is the best medicine. If you need a pick-me-up, this is the perfect book for you!
Sarah Andersen continues to be delightful with her Sarah Scribbles series. A quick, endearing read.
I really love Sarah's Scribbles a lot, so I don't say this lightly: Oddball is 100%, hands down, no questions asked, my favorite Sarah's Scribbles collection so far. I laughed out loud through so much of this and am still giggling over a couple of the comics. I'm not sure this will have a ton of appeal for anyone who isn't a millennial or maybe Gen Z, because a lot of the humor is very millennial-specific, and as usual for Sarah's work, a lot of it is also specific to cat lovers, people with anxiety and depression, and introverts. Nobody who knows me is surprised to hear that I immensely related to every comic in this collection and it was, in a nutshell, completely perfect for me.
I love Sarah Andersen's works because I relate to almost everything she writes. I loved this addition to the Sarah' scribbles collection. If you are someone who's shy or introverted or even love cats then you will also relate to some of things she writes.
Sarah Andersen is so much fun and has what are probably the most relatable comics ever. I’m obsessed. Oddball had me giggling from start to finish and was just perfect from all of the Millenial relatability and TikTok danced and referring to cats and demons sent from Hell. I love it.
I had trouble opening this file, so although I downloaded it, I didn´t got the chance to read it. I want to thank regardless to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity. I was planning before even requesting to purchase this book because I'm obssesed with this author so I'll make sure to review it properly once it arrives. Thanks again!
Oddball by Sarah Andersen was so good! I've read her other comics and this addition did not disappoint. Her art style so super fun as always.
Sarah's Scribbles perfectly captures the paradox and humor of the Millenial generation. Her 4-5 panel comics are succinct but full of witty commentary. They are relatable and perfect for a quick laugh.
I love Sarah Andersen and these incredibly relatable drawings. I've laughed at a lot of them but I've also cringed. Mostly, though? I feel incredibly seen.
Highly recommended.
My favorite thing about Sarah Andersen's books are how absolutely re-readable they are. People are completely familiar with her style even if they have no idea who the artist is, and her comics are so funny and relatable, you never get tired of seeing them.
A lot of comics that started as web comics then moved to print are...well, quite frankly, not worth buying in print. Even though you get "never before seen" comics, they're not always meant to be consumed in book form. Sarah's Scribbles are absolutely made to be bound up and enjoyed as a coffee table book, or a pick me up at any time.
J'adore. So much.
