I follow the author on Instagram and enjoy her panels regularly. This means that I am pretty up to date with the panels that she has put out thus far. Even with that prior experience, I found the significant bulk of this collection to be new, and even the repeats feel fresh.
The title and the cover page set the tone perfectly. The collection is specifically a tribute to the oddness inside everyone and the thrill when you see someone else as weird as you. Many panels can all be collected under this umbrella, but each was equally hilarious. I could see myself in many of them, which could be the highlight of the reading experience.
The illustration is simple and a little caricaturish, but this is something that regular readers would expect, and it does not take away from the impact of the individual narrative.
It is the kind of book that you feel like tapping anyone close to you or accessible to you and sharing the page you are on! It is solid gift material.
I received an ARC thanks to NetGalley and the publishers but the review is entirely based on my own reading experience.
If you like to read a relatable + fun illustrations then this book is for you. I’ve always enjoyed her drawings plus she’s hilarious. My sister collected her previous works and I always enjoyed reading them. Her on-point observations of the oddities of life make it much more interesting.
Thank you to Andrews McMeel Publishing for allowing me to give an honest review of this arc.
4/5 I don't think I completely finished this because of college work, so that's why I didn't review it sooner but nonetheless, I always enjoy what this author brings out. I enjoy their artwork and I'm sure if you just want to have a good little read you will like this.
Aaah, Sarah Andersen just gets me you know? I love her illustrations- they're so simple but unique and the best part - so RELATABLE. Loved this small collection as well. Just a great pick me up for when you're feeling down and out or even just bored. :)
This collection of scribbles is absolutely perfect and incredibly relatable. Sarah highlights many of the oddities of everyday life. Not only did these comics make me feel seen, but they also helped me to chuckle at how weird life can be sometimes. I binged all four of the books in this collection at a break-neck pace. They helped me to climb out of a reading slump. I've also recommended them to a few colleagues who have also loved them. I can't wait to reread this odd little book!
Like a soft, warm hug at the end of a long day, this newest collection of Sarah's Scribbles came at the perfect time of year. If you're a fan, you know. If you've never read them before, I highly recommend the entire series for a smile and a mood lift.
Everything Sarah Andersen does makes me smile and her latest collection is no exception. Timely, funny, and at times very profound, I loved Oddball!
Sarah Andersen is so talented! I love her work. It's always a pleasure to read her books.
As someone who's been following her for many years, I can say that "Oddball" does not disappoint at all. This is the 4th volume of the Sarah Scribbles series, and it's just as perfect as the previous ones. You don't necessarily need to read them in order. Each page brings a new funny and relatable comic showing the life of an introverted girl. It's hilarious to read her thoughts and reactions. Even if you don't consider yourself an introverted person, you'll find aspects of her personality that agree with yours. She's a millennial, by the way. This information is important. lol
Even though Sarah Andersen is also dedicating herself to other projects, such as "Fangs", the Sarah Scribbles series still keeps the same essence and humor. If you already know this character, you'll definitely enjoy this volume too. And if you're a new fan, welcome. You'll never leave this group ever again. Enjoy the ride. :)

🍁This is the fourth book in the cute and funny Sarah's Scribbles series.
💫Lots of witty, relatable, and adorable comics you can read in one sit!
✨Thanks to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for providing me an e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Sarah Andersen likes to scribble. She likes to draw scribbles about the things that make her happy, the things that make her anxious, the things that make her human. She feels like an oddball, and she uses her unique art to bring us into her world and celebrate all that things that make us oddballs too.
With humorous illustrations that are as honest and personal as an essay, Andersen shares her feelings on being a millennial, bring an artist, fan fiction, cats, introversion, procrastinating, finding a new hobby (obsession), social media, and making friends.
She’s happy to share her experiences of discovering a series long after everyone else has left the party or having to explain over and over that her art is more about practice than innate ability. She talks about how she has a tendency to overshare, or how it feels to finally find someone who sees the world the same way you do. She loves books, cats, comfortable clothes, and anything spooky.
Oddball is the latest in the “Sarah’s Scribbles” collection, and it’s just as inviting and inspiring as her previous books. Whether she’s making a comic out of her cat drinking from her water glass or writing about how difficult 2020 was, she is clearly putting her intelligence, her compassion, and her transparency on full display for us. She has found a unique voice and an utterly charming way to express herself, and I for one am a fangirl of Sarah’s Scribbles.
I love Oddball, both for its message and for its creative artistry. I admire Andersen for her artistic ability but also for her courage to share herself the way she does and for her positivity in difficult times. She doesn’t shy away from talking about her own struggles or her anxiety, but she tries to treat herself and others with kindness and patience. She understands what it’s like to fail, to be different, to feel unheard, and she welcomes anyone else who has similar experiences to be an oddball with her. I, for one, am in.
Egalleys for Oddball were provided by Andrews McMeel Publishing through NetGalley, with many thanks.
Sarah's comics always manage to cheer me up, and this collection was no exception. If you're a pet owner, artist, millennial, introvert, member of fandom or a fan of humor, there will be a comic for you. She has a lot of cat content and I'm always here for it, but the panels on procrastination, anxiety and fandom also really resonated with me.
I don't think I will ever not love a Sarah's Scribbles collection. She makes me laugh and smile and her comics do exactly what I need them to when I've had a long day. I follow Sarah on social media and I'm always excited when she posts a new comic. Relatable and self effacing, she is truly one of my favorites.

Another great book by Ms Andrson. I love her work, follow her on social media and really needed this book in my life. Each strip holds a relatable situation, emotion, moment in life. Sometimes I winced at how relatable, but mostly I laughed at how close to home they were.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who needs a bit of raw reality, wrapped in humour, placed inside a comic strip. Admit it, we all need it.
Another super relevant book by Sarah Anderson. All of the graphics are well done and manage to convey the exact sentiment she is trying to portray. Can't wait for more from her!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for providing me with an arc for an honest review.
This was such a great graphic novel! I was already a fan of Sarah Andersen and have read her online comics for years so I knew that this would be a hit, and I was right! Highly recommend that everyone check this out - it's amazing!
This was the first of Sarah Andersen's books I've read, and I MUST read more. You know how sometimes you want to take pics of something funny in a book and send them to your friends? I would've sent images of half this book if I had the time and more tolerant friends. This book was hilarious, and I knew my 10-year old would love it as well. He may not have understood everything, but he cackled all the way through it and the next day asked to read it again. This book is universally appealing to adults, kids, and everything in between. I'm buying an analog copy for myself ASAP.
Andersen does it again! Oddball is a hilarious addition to the Sarah's Scribbles collection. Very relatable and timely. Andersen's comics are on point and poke fun at the best parts of life that we can all see ourselves in.
Sarah Anderson continues to be super relatable with her little anecdotes. I always look forward to the next release. A fun, easy read.
I really like this comic and as usual there are some real gems among the pages. The downside is that I had seen about half of these before since I follow her son social media. The upside was seeing all that I missed. The nice thing about her collections is that they are all great for gift giving since they don’t have to be read in order.

I don't think there has ever been a Sarah Anderson book that I didn't like. Oddball was no exception. Once again, the book is filled with funny, relatable comics. Her comics always cheer me up and I'm proud to have all of Sarah's collections standing on my bookshelf!
