Scream + Steam = a Britney King Novel and, in the case, Kill Me Tomorrow.
Ali is a sex therapist and relationship guru who helps couples reconnect in the bedroom. Unfortunately, Ali never quite finds love for herself. She meets lots of prospects through her travels and online but becomes easily bored. A few of these prospects wind up dead. Ethan Lane is hired to investigate a wealthy dead bachelor when he uncovers all the dead men who have one thing in common - they belong to a popular dating app. Ethan creates a profile similar to these dead bachelors, hoping to lure the killer. Can he stay alive long enough to prove who the killer is?
King doesn’t disappoint! You want a one-sitting thriller - this is it! The action starts on page one and does not stop. King masterfully tangles a dark web and twists the plot with electric suspense that had me second-guessing my theories throughout the story. I’m forever a fan!
What attracted me about this book was the fact that the main character, Ali is a sex therapist or kind of a guru. Although her life seems to be fulfilled she is always searching for thrills and adventures.
Ehtan, who works as a private detective investigates a death. And those two cross paths. We also hear from a third voice, who's identity should be discovered much later.
All in all this is a very thrilling read but for me a little bit too sexy. But as said before, this is just my humble opinion.
The listening experience was a big pleasure for me! I really enjoyed the narration.
Thanks a lot for the AudioVersion of this ARC #Netgalley #OrangeSky Audio
I have one piece of advice for reading Kill Me Tomorrow - curl up, crack it open, and just enjoy it. Okay, maybe one more: when you think you have it figured out, you probably don't. I always expect twists galore from Britney King, so that was no surprise. She has a knack for creating connections where it seems that none exist, and she does that brilliantly here. I'll say again, don't assume you have it all figured out at any point because the twists just keep coming. This one is told from Ethan and Ali's perspectives, alternating between them with a third perspective thrown in here and there from the villain's point of view, or is that a villain's point of view? It could be either or both with this author. That third point of view is balanced perfectly between creepy and just vague enough that we don't know who it is. And I'll stop there before I give things away. Just know that these characters will keep you guessing, and their story will keep you reading long into the night. Like everything I've read by King, this one is another one-sitting read because there's no way to put it down.
...And that's what I wrote when I read the Kill Me Tomorrow the first time. This time around, I listened to the audiobook, and all of that still applies. Then, add Patrick Zeller's narration, and this one gets even better (and the bar was already pretty high). Those earlier-mentioned creepy villain chapters? Yeah, Zeller nailed it. I'll admit that I was a little skeptical about how well he would pull off Ali's chapters, but he nailed those too. Really, he did an excellent job with all the different elements in this book. I'm not going to go into all of them so I don't spoil anything, but if you enjoy thrillers and audiobooks, this is one you don't want to miss.
This book started off on the slow side. I was tempted to just stop around chapter 3 because I was having a problem getting into the book; however, I pressed on because I was fortunate enough to have obtained the ARC from Netgalley. I'm so glad I did! This took a surprising turn and was a light-hearted murder mystery (if those descriptions even go together). The ending was surprising. Quick, clever read.
Kill Me Tomorrow by Britney King is an extremely addictive psychological thriller that is fast paced, twisty and a bit steamy.
P.I. (former FBI agent) Ethan is hired to investigate the suspicious suicide of a wealthy bachelor. It soon becomes clear that it wasn't suicide and there are other victims. One thing they all have in common is being on dating apps. When Ethan goes undercover he is shocked to meet Ali a famous sex guru. He is extremely attracted to her. He doesn't see the problem pursuing her except that she might be a killer.
I was completely invested in this story. Narrator Patrick Zeller gave Ethan the perfect balance of self depreciating attitude and honest awareness of his self sabotage with his tone and humor. I really enjoyed his portrayal of Ali's sarcastic snobbery believing she is always the smartest person in the room.
The twists are deliciously jaw dropping though sometimes reality needs to be suspended for some plot lines such as Ethan's complete ignorance of social media and dating apps. For fans of a fun distracting psychological thriller Kill Me Tomorrow is perfect for today.
I received a free copy of this audiobook from the publisher Orangesky Audio via NetGalley for a fair and honest review. All opinions are my own.
This book is about Ethan, a former FBi agent turned PI, and Ali, a sex therapist who is famous for her conferences and books on sexual pleasure. Ethan is hired to investigate a death of a wealthy man but discovers that this death might actually be one in a string of murders. As he is looking for a killer, he meets Ali while he is undercover and they have instant chemistry. But could she be guilty in the crimes he is trying to solve?
The premise of this book really interested me from the description. I liked it and I thought the twist was interesting. However, I had a really hard time with the narration on this book. I read about 75-80% on audiobooks so this method isn’t new for me. I had a hard time deciphering who was speaking and whose POV we were in. I had to keep rewinding chapters and started over several times. I think this book would have been better suited to a dual narrator. I finished it because I wanted to see what happened but it was difficult. If I hadn’t been given this to read and review, I probably would have stopped listening and moved on to something else – maybe picked it up in ebook or print from the library instead.
Thank you @NetGalley and @OrangeSkyAudio for the opportunity to read and review this advanced reader copy.

I just listened to this book in a day haha. The narrator is a man and continues to be a man even when the POV is a female so it makes it a little bit confusing and I had to go back a few times to clarify. But besides that the book itself is very good and a page turner! I’m a tiny bit confused on the ending but I think that’s because it’s so hard to rewind in the NetGalley app to where I want to clarify that I don’t even bother.
3.5 stars. I immediately requested a copy of this audiobook when I saw it on NetGalley. I had recently listened to Savage Row and enjoyed the way King wrote and the storyline. After finishing this, in comparison, I felt this book didn’t flow quite as well. There were still many twist and turns. The book kept me listening and wondering what was going to happen. Overall, I still enjoyed the book and will gladly pick up another King if given the chance.

Fast-paced, thrilling, delightful, creepy and imposible to put down. A wild ride from start to finish. This is my first book from this author and it won’t be my last.
Thank you NetGalley, OrangeSky Audio by Findaway and Britney King for this ALC.

Patrick Zeller has quite the presence as an audiobook narrator and he had me enthralled with Britney King's words from the get go.
The first chapter was so vivid and suspenseful I had to keep listening to find out what was going to happen.
An insightful look into the dangers of online dating, it was nice to see a change in the usual story and see male victims. Ethan Lane, the private investigator who is hoping to crack the case is an interesting character but the star of the book is Ali, the sex therapist.
Recommend to anyone who enjoys a game of cat and mouse in their mysteries.
Thank you NetGalley and OrangeSky Audio for the opportunity to review this audiobook.
Nope. I found this story to be really boring and all over the place. The ending was a letdown. The twist weren’t shocking. I listened to the audiobook and felt it would have been better suited to have dual narrators. I also felt that the killers voice was similar to one of the main characters voice and I would get confused as to who’s point of view I was listening to at times. I have read other books by this author in the last year, but sadly this one fell completely flat for me.
I really enjoyed the story at first, but the narration kinda had me lost. I really do love the narrator but the audio was very iffy on this one, with his voice getting super loud in certain areas, but mostly just very quiet so it was extremely hard to hear at times. I feel I definitely would have enjoyed reading this one over listening.
I am not sure what I was expecting with this book. I really enjoyed this. I loved the story and the twist and turns that this story had. I was not expecting the husband to have done it. Like holy crap.
3.5 stars
Overall I found this a quick and entertaining erotic suspense story. Definitely had a few great twist at the end that actually surprised me.
The very end of the story was a little lackluster for me. The pacing overall was not consistent; some parts dragged and could have done without, like rereading the whole elongated death scene twice in the book, while other parts felt rush.
The narration was good but I would have like the two male point of views to be a little more distinct from each other. At times I thought it might be a device to make you question if they were the same person, but it was just hard to tell who we were reading from.
I will definitely be checking out more books from thus author.
Thank you to NetGalley and OrangeSky Audio for an advanced audio book for review.
Kill Me Tomorrow by Britney King
In all honesty this book wasn’t for me. I think it was an interesting read. But didn’t really catch my attention and hold it. Although I did finish it. Felt like it was a little dry. Not really much suspense. Glad I had the audio to listen to it, because honestly I don’t think I could have actually read this one.
Thank you Britney King, OrangeSky Audio and NetGalley for the audio to listen to this book in return for my honest review!
The description of this book had me really excited!
This audiobook was just SO DRY in my opinion. I was a bit lost, things were just really mixed up and I was not able to stay with it without really focussing on what was happening and then trying to put it all together.
Unfortunately, I found this story to be confusing and not to my liking. I finally gave up and did not finish reading. I am not blaming the author or the book, I think it just wasn’t what I. thought it would be. It's just not the book for me.
Narrator 5 stars
Story 3 stars
Fast quick listen. Interesting story. If there's a second book (because I feel like this women will kill again **this bit will not be published**) I would definitely read it.
So I’m about 50% done with this book and i am so confused. The direction i thought it was going i guess it’s not. I think there is to many people who are propagandists and i just can’t tell them apart most of the time. Really sad because this book looks super good. I just don’t think it’s for me.
This was my first time listening to an audiobook, and I had a really hard time following the narrator. At the beginning, I had to rewind several times and re-listen to figure out which character said what or if the commentary was an internal thought or dialogue. I also could not handle his "girl" voice representation for Allie. I think I would prefer dual narration but I realize that is not always feasible.
I felt like some of the points were a little repetitive or even unrealistic. What retired FBI agent would keep seeing a potential serial killer? And he brings it up over and over again how he shouldn't keep seeing her or that she is a prime suspect.
I think had I read and not listened to this book, I would have enjoyed it more. That said, the story premise was really good. I was hooked and wanted to keep reading to find out what really happened. The ending was a little rushed but it kept me on the edge of my seat. At one point, I thought I had it all figured out and then BOOM I was wrong.
I rated this 2.5 stars, although it probably would have been 3.5 if I read instead of listened to this audiobook. I received a copy of this audiobook free from NetGalley and OrangeSky Audio in exchange for an honest review. These opinions are mine!
