Tamed by the Lyon from the Lyon's Den Series is an absolutely wonderfully written story about a young woman left at the altar by her betrothed due to her selfish sister who wants and expects everything her sister has. Madeline has waited patiently for four years for her betrothed to marry her. Her sister, Coraline, has other plans and has undermined her relationship. Several weeks later she receives a letter from Mrs. Dove-Lyon that she has a prospective groom for her and to come to her establishment to see if he is acceptable.
Oliver's immediate family has died. His father and recently his older brother. The Earl is now in debt due to the taxes now due from the recent deaths. His older brother led him to believe all was well only to find out he entered into an agreement to marry a women with a large inheritance no questions asked. He goes to see Mrs. Dove-Lyon and inquires about the arrangement. Madeline and Oliver will meet and agree to marry quickly.
This was a wonderful story about a woman breaking free from her loveless family, a man who steps into a new role only to find this arranged marriage may be everything they ever dreamed.
Since most of the marriages of this era were arranged this is not a new plot, but the addition of a marriage broker was a perfect twist to make this a delightful story.

Arranged marriage by Mrs Lyon leads to lasting love and a wonderful story of resilience and passion.
I’m adoring this series, every book is different and entertaining, Chasity’s book is wonderful.
Madeline and Oliver although arranged to marry under difficult circumstances fall in love and it’s a great journey, one where they learn that family is what you create yourself, Sisters are not to be trusted and you can achieve anything you put your mind too with the help of your partner.
Loved the book, look forward to reading more.
I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review
He has unexpectedly inherited a title with almost empty coffers and death taxes for his father and his brother. He needs a rich wife. She has been humiliated by her sister and jilted at the altar. She needs a husband to save her reputation. Enter Mrs. Bessie Dove-Lyon. She brings Oliver and Madeline together. A marriage of convenience suits them both, for a while. Madeline and Oliver get along with each other. Although there is a misunderstanding about the marriage bed, it is soon solved. There is more trouble from her family, but Oliver takes care of it. This is a charming and heartwarming story. These two just might fall in love and enjoy a wonderful happily ever after. Mrs. Dove-Lyon does it again.
I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. My Review is voluntary.
This book is lovely and very easy to read.
Abandoned at the altar by her groom in favor of her younger sister, Miss Madeline Keyes has become an object of pity, scorn and scandal. Rather than flee to the countryside to rusticate as a spinster with her less than loving parents, she seeks the aid of Mrs. Bessie Dove-Lyon to snare a titled husband and, through marriage, reclaim her place in society.
Lord Oliver Easton, Earl of Foxmore, has always preferred plants to people. As a younger son, he had no expectations of marriage. But with the loss of both his father and brother in a very short span of time, the death taxes levied on the estate leave him at risk of losing his life’s work. So he does the only sensible thing and takes his brother’s place in the matchmaking scheme helmed by the owner of the Lyon’s Den.
It was supposed to be a marriage of convenience only. A chance to rescue her reputation and his fortunes. But neither of them expected the ultimate complication—to fall in love.
This is a short love story and a really sweet one. Both main characters are well developed and likeable. Madeline has been sheltered all her life, so her new husband decided to wait for her. I thought it was really smart of the author the way she enlightens us about women and the absence of knowledge about the marriage bed. Lucky us, it has some nice steamy moments.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This was a short enjoyable read. The story has Cinderella vibes with a spoiled sister and Prince Charming. While it's not love at first sight for our couple, the hero, Oliver, acts as Madeline's protector from the beginning. I would have liked for the conflict to have been a little more complicated and the characters to be a little more developed, but this is a good read if you don't want to have to think.
I received an eARC from NetGalley for an honest review.
Tamed by the Lyon by Chasity Bowlin is exactly the kind of romance one wants to read. Oliver Easton, the Earl of Foxmore had never intended to be the earl, had never wanted to be. Now he was and he was just about out of money. His brother, Sebastian, the previous earl had told him it was taken care of, but he hadn't been able to locate the solution. He was tearing apart his brother's study, looking for he knew not what, when he found it. A letter from Mrs. Dove-Lyon, the most notorious matchmaker in England, stating she had found a match for Sebastian. At last! He would take this match for himself. Miss Madeline Keyes had just been left at the altar by her betrothed, Edmund, after the most amazing performance by her sister, Coraline, now his wife. She had always manipulated her way into everything she wanted. She's done it again and this time ruined her sister, Madeline. Right from the beginning, Oliver was the perfect match and stood up to her sister and her parents, and the man who had seen her ruined.
Oliver never hesitated to do the right thing. He did it in spades for Madeline, except for misinterpreting advice from Mrs. Dove-Lyon about the wedding night. He made a mistake and hurt his wife, unintentionally. This is the sweetest man in the world and Madeline deserved him. This is an absolutely lovely romance despite its very rough beginnings. Bowlin has kept a very simple story, simple, and in doing that has created one of the better stores of The Lyon Den's Connected World, and proven that Mrs. Dove-Lyon has a heart.
I was invited to read a free e-ARC of Tamed by the Lyon by Dragonblade, through Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own. #netgalley #tamedbythelyon #dragonblade
I found the characters in this book totally enchanting and the storyline was strong and drew me in from page 1. Deborah & Garret... (our h and H) through many misfortunes of their own must opt for a marriage of convenience. She due to needing to regain her social status and he needs money. The journey these two travel to try and find their HEA will keep you turning the pages. I didnt want to put it down. I highly recommend this book.
I was gifted this book as an ARC and this is my voluntary and honest review.
Abandoned at the altar by her unscrupulous & dishonourable groom in favour of her younger sister, Miss Madeline Keyes has become an object of pity, scorn and scandal thanks to her sister’s claims. I read this well written novel in a sitting & finished it well into the night. I loved both Oliver & Madeline & was totally invested in their journey to a HEA. I loved how he defended Marjorie. There were a couple of misunderstandings along the way, these added to my enjoyment. I loathed Madeline’s family especially Coraline who I hope gets her just desserts. An entertaining, engrossing romance
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
Although a marriage of convenience, I found that this heart-warming novel has all the elements of a beautiful romance. Jilted at the altar by her unscrupulous fiancé, Madeline Keyes takes the only recourse open to her and makes contact with the notorious Black Widow of Whitehall. Mrs. Dove-Lyon has the uncanny knack of putting together perfect matches and in introducing Madeline to Oliver, the Earl of Foxmore, she once again achieves the impossible. However, their marriage is not without hurdles to be overcome when Oliver discovers that his in-laws have their knives out for his charming wife. Oliver is a little absent-minded when it comes to taking care of his new wife, but when it counts he is more than willing to defend her. Madeline is truly out of her depths when it comes to a society marriage, but she has friends in unexpected places. I have read all the novels in this series to date, and have not been disappointed by any of them. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, a copy of which I received as a gift from Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.
An engaging and entertaining regency romance by Chasity Bowlin. Madeline and Oliver are perfectly content for a marriage of convenience to save her reputation and his fortune but it soon turns to a most wonderful forever love neither expected.
This was a very charming story and I enjoyed getting to know Madeline and Oliver. Madeline's family is so over-the-top horrible that I couldn't anticipate what they would do next. I do think this story could have been a bit more fleshed out if it had been longer.
Tamed by the Lyon by Chasity Bowlin
Madeleine was ridiculed by her sister at her wedding ceremony then her sister married the groom instead. The only way to redeem her reputation is to marry . Oliver has just inherited an earldom but due to inheritance taxes he is just about destitute and needs a wealthy wife. They both consult with the black widow Mrs Dove Lyons to find a suitable partner .
A very well written fast moving read.
Very enjoyable read.
I really liked this story, Oliver and Madeline pulled me in from the beginning. They grew well with each other and into their marriage. I loved their bond and the set downs they delivered were **chef's kiss** so good!!
This was a great book. I had a hard time putting it down. The characters were very well-written and I liked them immediately. Madeline was an innocent ruined by her selfish sister at her own wedding. Oliver was an Earl that just came into a broke title. With the help of Bessie Dove-Lyon, these strangers were able to make a marriage of convenience.
The story was fast paced, stimulating, and diverting. Once again Bessie Dove-Lyon was a secondary character that was fantastic throughout. This is definitely an interesting series.
CHASITY BOWLIN NEVER DISAPPOINTS!!! Tamed by the Lyon by Chasity Bowlin was just a truly and wonderful read. Chasity has always been a favorite author of mine and she has never disappointed me in her stories and writing. What a talent!!! I found Tamed by the Lyon remarkable, easy to read and the details very vivid in deed. It has the true feel of the regency era and the characters fantastic. Madeline and Oliver had such a connection and I could just feel their love growing. I could not put this book down. Can you tell I loved this book?! This story has a women that was left at the alter, a notorious matchmaker, a second son that has become an earl, needing money, needing to reclaim her name in scandal, an evil sister who think she deserves everything, schemes, blackmail, misunderstandings, a bet in White’s Men’s Club, parent who blame the wrong sister in everything and falling in love. It has it all and so much more. I am highly recommending you read this book!!!
***This book was gifted to me and I am voluntarily reviewing.
Humiliated at the altar, Madeline Keyes needs to find a husband to stop the gossip and reestablish herself in society.
Oliver Easton, the new Earl of Foxmore, needs money to save the estates under his care and pay the death taxes for his father and brother. Oliver finds his brother's contract with Mrs. Dove-Lyon for a bride. It is his only choice to get money fast. A quick marriage and two strangers start to learn about each other. He is her only defender of any derogatory remarks from her family.and society. Could this be a love match!
Once again Mrs Dove-Lyon gets it right!
My sincere wishes to her sister and brother-in-law for a miserable marriage. No negative remarks about Madeline and Oliver. Both are above board as the hero and heroine. I love this series.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
The Story: Madeline's family is THE WORST. Her sister wants everything that Madeline has - starting with the dolls she played with in the nursery and up to and including her betrothed and her dowry. Her parents just went along with that to avoid tantrums and eventually it became their reality that Madeline is a second class citizen in her home.
Oliver's immediate family has all died. His beloved mother years ago, his seemingly useless father recently and shortly after his brother.... this has left the new Earl in deep debt that apparently his brother was trying to resolve by using a marriage service to find a bride whose dowry could pay the debts.
Madeline and Oliver are matched, married, her sister is really mad about it and then there is a misunderstanding about when the new marriage should be consummated!
This was a delightful little novella about a woman breaking free from her abusive family, a man who steps into a new role and finds he's well suited to it, and a couple that finds that their previous hardships led them to the happiness that they never thought possible. The conflict in this mostly comes from the truly awful sister and a misunderstanding and lack of communication but never did I think that "this could be solved by a conversation" because of course the topic is such an awkward one to bring up! Very little angst with the couple made this a very light and enjoyable read!
After inheriting an earldom, Oliver realizes he needs a rich wife to save the day. He asks the infamous Lyon’s Den owner to arrange one. Humiliated at the altar by her abusive sister, Madeline just wants to get away from her dysfunctional family. Once together they form a very strong union. I received an ARC from NetGalley and Dragonblade Publishing for my honest review.
The world of Lyon includes work by many authors but Chasity Bowlin rises to the top. Her characters have depth and her story is believable and makes sense. A spoiled sister who is determined to get all her sister has finally get what she deserves rather than what she wants. Well worth your time to enjoy this one
