A fast paced Christmas Suspense on the short side that will keep the reader's attention to the very last page because the reader just has to know what happened. Perfect for those readers that enjoy Christmas stories but want something with a little more bite.
I really like Laura’s book. The only complaint is that once I star a book I have to read it in one setting. I have lost so much sleep because I have to read to the end to see what happens to the main characters. Her books are filled with mystery and romance. Perfect combination.
US Marshal Slade Brooks responds to a frantic call from a woman in witness protection, to find her shaken up and having lost her memory. He and Robyn set off to stay one step ahead of the bad guys while trying to unlock her memories so that she will be able to testify against the bad guys.
A fast paced adventure full of danger and suspense. Robyn witnessed a crime and has been through a lot, I admired her for holding to her faith and bravely standing for the truth. Slade is dedicated to his job, he likes Robyn but knows that with her in witness protection it can't go anywhere.
Overall, a well written suspense with a good plot and pacing, I liked that there were moments that slowed down enough for them to get to know each other. And I think that the risks taken made sense with the plot. I liked their shared faith and Robyn's courage. A solid inspirational suspense, with excellent plot and characters!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
I must say, I love the cover for this one, and I Laura Scott yet again leaves readers wanting more! I loved this latest romantic suspense LIS title by author Laura Scott! I've read a few of her other LIS titles, and I always love her attention to detail, and getting to know her characters while they work together to solve crimes! With a fun twist, this might just be my favorite yet of her, as the witness has forgotten the crime she is set to testify for, and the trial is only days away! I loved getting to see the new challenges and struggles these characters faced, and yet again found this to be another unforgettable thrill to read!
Us marshal Slade is supposed to keep Robyn safe until she can stand on trial as a witness. A case that has already taken down one witness and clearly Robyn isn't safe after once again someone manages to find her hinting that there is a mole is the department. On top of that Robyn got into an accident that has her with temporary amnesia. So not only does he have to keep her safe in time for that trial but hope she gets her memory back.
This was a fast paced book that gets the readers straight into the action which is the kinda books I love to read. There was so much to go off on this book. I mean Robyn lost her memory but for the most part things were coming in bit by bit but its an issue if they need her on trial. If the people who are behind the behind the attack know of her current situation would they leave her alone, and if she didn't get her memory back what kinda witness statement could she really make for this case. There was plenty of mystery and suspense surrounding this book and I really enjoyed reading it.
This is a Romantic Suspense, and this is the 4th book in the Justice Seekers series. This book is full of action and suspense, but there is not a lot of romance in this book. I have to say I really enjoyed this book, and I really loved the main character. There was some twists in this book, and I did not see all the twists coming. This book is driven by the storyline and the action more that the characters. I did not get much about the holidays in this book, so I would not pick this book up if you are looking for a holiday book. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Love Inspired Suspense) or author (Laura Scott) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.
Hiding His Holiday Witness by Laura Scott gives readers plenty of action and danger. Robyn Lowry is a witness for a case involving an arms dealer, only the bad guys don’t want her to testify. Someone breaks into the safe house, and by the time US Marshal Slade Brooks finds Robyn, she’s fallen and hit her head. She can’t remember anything about the US Marshals, the case, or her past. Worse, the attacks keep coming and Slade and his partner go on the run with a witness who doesn’t remember anything.
I enjoyed this story. I’ve never read anything by Laura Scott and found this story action-packed and intriguing. Of course, I love action and there are plenty of plot twists and suspenseful moments that kept me flipping pages well past my bedtime. I also liked the romantic sparks between Robyn and Slade. If you are looking for a fast-paced story filled with memorable characters, look no further.
Overall Rating:
5 stars (I loved it, couldn’t put it down)
Suspense Rating:
5 stars (Non-stop edge-of-your-seat suspense from start to finish)

"Hiding His Holiday Witness" is a Christian romantic suspense novel. It's the fourth book in a series but works as a stand alone. The suspense was created by the attacks on Robyn and the uncertainty about if she'll remember witnessing the crime in time for the trial. The first half was pure suspense: attack, run, attack, run. There was little character development since Slade didn't want to tell her anything she couldn't remember, and she had total amnesia. He admired how she dealt with this situation, though, and she was attracted to her hunky protector. It wasn't until the last half that she started remembering things and they finally tried to figure out how their location kept getting leaked to the bad guys. In my opinion, this was more like a template for a romantic suspense that needed some filling out with character development. The action was there, but a few times people did things that didn't make sense to me and the characters didn't really engage me. There was no sex or bad language.
My thoughts: this is a formula romantic suspense written by Laura Scott. It was fairly predictable but there is a good faith message included in it. I was trying to read two Love inspired suspense books at the same time so it did get rather confusing but that was my fault. The hero and heroine were kept on the run as the all-knowing bad guy seem to know every move they made in advance. How do they do that? If you like somewhat predictable and formula romantic suspense you should check out this book and this line of books. I was given a copy free and all opinions are my own.
I love suspense and this offering from Laura Scott fit the bill quite nicely. A witness to a crime ring's deeds needs a place to hide and a US Marshal is taking her case. Unfortunately, the safe house is compromised and from then on, non-stop action ensues. I enjoyed it very much.
My thanks to Love Inspired for a copy of this book via Net Galley.
This was an ok book. It was the first book I read by this author. I found it very predictable. I became a bit bored with it.
My library doesn’t purchase paperback books but this is a book that I would buy for myself to read. It kept my attention and brought surprises throughout the book. Interesting story about Robyn Lowry who worked in the office of Gifford Furniture and accidentally found out her boss had been shipping guns through his furniture business and she saw the guns and reported it to the authorities. By telling the law Robyn ended up in protective custody and was protected by the U.S Marshals. She was protected by U.S. Marshal Slade Brooks and two of his friends U.S. Marshal Colt Nelson and Tanner Wilcox. Numerous attempts were made on her life. It kept you interested waiting to see what was going to happen next.
