This one has everything you would expect in a story from Karen Kingsbury: Family, forgiveness and of course faith. This one centers on Ashley Baxter revisiting her past. As an adult preparing for a visit to Paris, she remembers her first time there and the memories are difficult for her. Readers will enjoy the Paris descriptions and the message of forgiveness.

For any fan of the Baxter series, this is a very satisfying read. Like any of Karen Kingsbury offerings in the Baxter series over the years this title can be read as a stand alone. However, for Ms. Kingsbury fans Forgiving Paris answers so much of Ashley’s back story and gives additional depth to her character. This book has some intrigue that keeps the reader quickly turning the pages to see what happens. The addition of Jessie’s boyfriend brings another layer of characters and shows how one person’s decision can impact many others without the person even knowing. Forgiving Paris is a keeper and fans of Ms. Kingsbury will not easily forget this story.

I received an ARC ebook from NetGalley and the publisher, Atria Books , in exchange for an honest review.

Thanks to Atria Books and NetGalley for the ARC. Its great to be able to read a book before it goes out on our shelves.
If you could go back to a place where you made a tremendous mistake, would you? That is the beginning of the latest book from Karen Kingsbury. Ashley Baxter Blake has been invited to have her art showcased in Paris, France but Paris holds lots of bad memories for her. An emotional read, good story, Christian Fiction. I will recommend this book.

Karen Kingsbury always does masterful work when she gives life to the characters in her books, especially the Baxters and this is no exception. She's done that, again, with Forgiving Paris (once you read this, you'll know how perfect the title really is!). This book focuses on Ashley and her return trip to Paris, years after she fled from bad there. With the support of her husband, Landon, they return to Paris for their anniversary trip and Ashley's Paris art show. The details that blend together Ashley's story of then and now, the people in her life then and now - and how they're connected with God at the center of it all, is beautifully written. If you love faith, family, and a sense of closure - this book is for you. Although, it is part of many books involving The Baxters, if you're new to the Baxters, you don't need to read them all before to be able to jump right into this one now.

Thank you NetGalley and Atria books for the ebook copy in exchange for my honest review.

This was a book that pulled me in by the heartstrings and made me tear up often. I felt as if I was actually in Paris walking around seeing the sights and being a part of Ashley Baxter's life. I caught myself so worried about Ashely that I would lay in bed and think about praying for her only to remember this is a fiction read. I love the Baxter family and can’t get enough of these books. That being said this book can be read like a stand alone. The author gives a little cheat sheet in the back of all of the character's names and explained who they were. The inspiration of this book is that God forgives and He redeems. This is a perfect book to give to anyone who can't seem to get past their shame or regrets from bad decisions. What I found most encouraging in this read was an apology of little boats. Landon uses the analogy in the book of Jesus calming the storm. His disciples were in a storm and asked Jesus stop the storm and save them but there were probably other small boats on the sea that night. We never know how our storm is affecting others. We are in a season of waiting with our adoption and I can feel alone in my boat majority of the time but God is always at work and could be using my story to bring others closer to him. There are little boats around us and so is God. I highly recommend this book because it is well written and easy to read with a beautiful inspirational message.

So glad to read Ashley's redemption story. Her story brought a much needed finality for me. I have read all of Karen 's book and have been waiting on this one. Thank you for allowing me to read this book.

"Without God, life would only be a series of meaningless efforts and irredeemable futures."

And that quote is a good description of this book. In Forgiving Paris, Ashley is headed back to Paris, a place that holds difficult memories and fear for her. As she works through her fears, her husband Landon offers this insight. He used the story of Jesus calming the sea when the disciples were being tossed about. We know that story well, but what about all the other boats that were on that sea that night? They too experienced the blessing of the calmed storm.

At first, I wasn't quite sure what Landon was driving at, but as the story goes along, you will see examples of other "boats" who were helped as a result of Ashley's storm. While I've heard the concept before, the visual of other boats also finding calm as a result of God working in my life, drove the idea home in a different way than I have heard before.

Another thing I liked about this story is the "angels unaware" aspect. It's not something we hear about a lot, but how many times does God send a physical angel to help us out or to protect us.

I really enjoyed this book and would love to hear where the story went from here.

Thank you Netgalley and Atria Books for the chance to read Forgiving Paris by Karen Kingsbury. This was the first time I had read anything by Karen Kingsbury. I was not aware that she was a Christian writer, and I found the book a bit heavy handed with the religious aspect, but that didn't detract from the overall book. I also was not aware that it was a continuation of her Baxter stories, but it can be read as a stand alone. This was a different read than I was expecting but I found the story of Ashley and Alice to be moving. I initially found the story to be slow, but it picked up and I enjoyed it in the end. 31/2 stars rounded up to 4.

Although I have not read any of the Baxter series books, I found this book easy to follow and enjoy and will definitely read the others in this series.

Ashley Baxter Blake is finally reached the pinnacle of her art career and is having an art show in Paris. But she's not sure she is ready to return to Paris where her life had been derailed. Will Ashley find redemption when she returns or will memories continue to haunt her forever?

This book reads well as a stand-alone even if you haven't read any of the other Baxter series books. Ashley's time in Paris led to many decisions that caused her to feel that she had left God and God had left her, but little did she know that she planted seeds elsewhere that would grow and lead to decisions that would affect not only her life but others as well. Redemption was the main focus throughout this novel.

"God is waiting for you in your tomorrow....,just like He is for all of us."

Another well written read from Karen Kingsbury.

Karen Kingsbury has done it again! She writes such thought provoking and heart warming stories.

I wasn’t able to give it 5 stars because I had a difficult time following some of the events because I had not read the previous story to get all of the background info on what went down in Paris.

I love the tales of the Baxter family. I have been following them for years. In this addition, Ashley heads back to Paris 23 years after her first visit. Ashley made her biggest mistakes and out of it came her biggest joy in Paris. Now it’s time to face her past and go towards her future.
.
So many small world moments in this one. These are Christian based books and I always enjoy the little moments in these wholesome books. They make their mistakes, but find love, forgiveness and trust in each other and their faith. I love this close knit family and can’t wait for the next installment.

Karen Kingsbury. books are warm, comforting, and always leave you smiling. Her latest was no different!

Ashley Baxter Blake arrived in Paris at a low point. Some split-second choices she made had lasting effects on her life and are now coming full circle as she heads back to Paris for the first time in many, many years.
Ashley's story runs parallel to many others, making for a complicated plot, that luckily was all tied up in the end. An honest, religious, realistic fiction story, Kingsbury again completed a book that keep me intrigued and interested from the first page to the last.

I have read all of the Baxter Family books written by Karen Kingsbury. I am generally not this author’s target reader, but find these books to be a little comforting and predictable. It is sort of like a Hallmark movie. Some of her recent books have been an extension of some of the previous stories from her previous books.
This latest one focuses on Ashley Baxter Blake to ran off to Paris at a really low point in her life. While there she made some choices that were not in line with her upbringing and has felt guilt and shame since then.
Ashley heads back to Paris for some great celebrations and her visit brings her full circle with the choices she made all those years ago. I would have been happy if the story ended there, however the author seemed to have so many other subplots that she wanted to include. I found them to be distracting from the original story.
Overall, if you’re a fan of Kingsbury’s books, then you’ll like this one. Otherwise, it may not be your cup of tea.

I read this book as a stand alone read, I have not read the rest of the stories regarding the Baxter Family. There is a few pages in the back of the book that give some explanation as to how all the characters are intertwined in their lives. I had no problem following the storyline despite not reading past books in the series.
The story is a mix of mystery, romance, forgiveness and faith set in the beautiful landscape of Paris. I loved seeing how all the characters we met became a part of Ashley the main characters life and the impact no matter how big or small can change the course of ones lives and others. It shows how once faith can help one overcome hurdles and allow us to see the beauty and reason in our lives for both good and not so good encounters, it’s all how you look at it. This is a great Christian faith based read

I would recommend this book to friends or my book club.

I received a free copy from NetGalley and any opinions expressed in my review are mine. Thanks for the opportunity to allow me to read this book in advance.

Thank you Net Galley for an ARC of Forgiving Paris by Karen Kingsbury. I have read almost all of the Baxter series. Out of all of them. Ashley's story was one of my favorites. I loved this continuation of Ashley's story and was so happy to get it to review.

Thank you to NetGalley for this ebook. I went into this book unaware it was part of a series. If I had not been told by a fellow reader then I would never have known. This book reads as a stand-alone story. I never felt like I was missing a part of the story. It is a heartwarming story full of grace and forgiveness. Ashley finally comes to the realization that she needs to forgive herself as much as she needs to forgive others for past actions performed in Paris while she was young. Reading and experiencing this transformation happening in this family was so lovely. If anyone is looking for a feel good book, this is one to read.

It was full of emotions and learning how to let go of the past. This book will touch your heart and soul. I highly recommend it. I received a complimentary copy from Atria Books via NetGalley and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.

All Baxter Family fans will be delighted in Karen Kingsbury’s newest release! We finally find out what happened to Ashley in Paris all those years ago! Wow, what a difficult time! Lots of emotions and suspense along with a satisfying end showing that God can use even our poor choices for His good!

I liked that it was nostalgic to find out more about a character’s journey that she kept quite hidden. I didn’t like that the story ends sooner than you think as there is a huge section in the back devoted to names of donors and 1,258 names honoring someone who has made an impact. In my ebook, the story ended at 78%.

This book is for anyone that loves the Baxter Family, Karen Kingsbury, or contemporary Christian women’s fiction.
