Ashley has always been my favorite of the Baxter family. Her story is so heartbreaking and encouraging, so I was very excited to dive into another story with her as the focus.

Even though Ashley came to terms with her mistakes in past books, it felt very realistic for her to have some unresolved anxiety about Paris years later. I loved how this focused on Ashley's journey to forgive herself, and my favorite parts were the flashbacks between Paris trip #1 and today, showing how much she and Landon had grown.

Despite that, I had some real issues with the plot in this. The entire Albert plotline was ridiculously unnecessary. From the moment it was introduced, it felt unbelievable and unrealistic. It clearly wasn't difficult to find Ashley, given the phone call from Jean-Claude's people in the one of the previous books, so if Albert was so obsessed with finishing his job, he had plenty of opportunity to do so over the last 23 years. And to make this plotline even more pointless, Albert's arrest happened entirely offscreen, so there was all this build-up for a confrontation that never even happened. I'm not sure why it was even included. This book would have been much better if it focused on Ashley reconnecting with Alice and Mia.

Additionally, the amount of angel intervention in this seemed excessive. I consider the Baxter stories to be semi-realistic Christian fiction and the use of angel intervention in two very separate scenarios a couple of chapters apart was just too much for me. I know this could be countered with "this is happening all the time and we don't notice," but I still find it unrealistic that there would be two instances that the same family recognizes as angel intervention.

Overall, I'd recommend if you are a fan of Ashley and the Baxter family because the Ashley / Landon moments are sweet, but be prepared for some unrealistic plot.

I received an arc copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest opinion of it. I absolutely loved this book as I have all books from this author. This is about forgiveness and I do love how her books portray that Christians are not perfect and have mistakes in their lives too. Ashley Baxter took off for Paris to get away from a tragedy in her life when she was 18. She did things that she was so ashamed of but still was welcomed back home with open arms. Years later when she returns to Paris with her husband, Landon, she has to move on from all the pain she endured in Paris.

Forgiving Paris by Karen Kingsbury was a book that pulled me in by the heartstrings. I felt as if I was actually in Paris walking around seeing the sights and being a part of Ashley Baxter's life. To he honest, I wasn't sure if I would like it. I haven't read but one or two of her Baxter books and I worried I would be lost. Not the case at all. It read like a stand alone and I didn't miss a beat. The author gives a little cheat sheet in the back of all of the character's names and explained who they were.

The book featured Ashley. The daughter who is a gifted painter. The one who had been in Paris twenty three years before and came home pregnant. We get to know what happened during that time and what she felt. The inspiration of this book is that God forgives and He redeems. This is a perfect book to give to anyone who can't seem to get past their shame or regrets from bad decisions. Maybe, someone needs to read this because they cant forgive themselves.

I highly recommend this book because it is well written and easy to read with a beautiful inspirational message.

*I was given a copy of thus book by the publisher and this is my honest opinion.

Ever since I read Redemption, the first Baxter novel, I wondered what happened to Ashley in Paris. Forgiving Paris is as the name says a book about forgiveness. I loved the way the story was balanced between memories and the current time. The love and courage Ashley and Blake showed in facing the past was admirable and demonstrated their faith in God! I adored the way the story ended and don't think any other ending would have been as satisfying. So grab your cozy blanket, a pot of tea, and curl up in your favorite reading nook! You are in for a fabulous read!

I was given a copy of this book by NetGalley with no expectations. All thoughts are my own.

This is another Baxter Family story. If you have followed Karen Kingsbury series then you are grabbing the right book! Ashley is having to overcome some things that happened in the past that took place in Paris. I know that they say this can be a stand alone read but with how many charterers are within this read, I highly recommend that you stay with the series. You will not be able to fully see the big picture of the story. The story is wanting Ashley to forces on herself and over come forgiving her own self. Which as well know that it is hard to do depending on what happened. As always, Karen Kingsbury has written a beautiful novel. I highly recommend if you start one of her series if you haven't already. Thank you NetGalley and Simon & Schuster for the advance read.

I haven’t read Karen Kingsbury books in quite a while, despite being what would probably be considered her target audience, a Christian woman. That being said, her books always force you to look within and consider your life choices. In this story, which is a continuation of the Baxter series, Ashley returns to Paris to face the demons of her past and get a chance to make new memories to replace the bad ones. Family ties are reconnected and relationships are strengthened, including their relationship with God. Although I hadn’t read the other books in the series, I was able to get through it without any real trouble without knowing the backstory. This is very much about the benefits of leaning on Hod when life gets tough and the possibilities of angels all around us.
Thanks to Atria Books and Netgalley for this Arc in exchange for my review.

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
What a transforming book about redemption and the plans God has for us.
Ashley Baxter goes to Paris when she is young and gets caught up in an affair with a married man. Meanwhile Alice is going through a traumatic time in her life as well. How these two connect again later In Life is touching and riveting.
Very well written and definitely something I would recommend to friends and fellow church members.

Ashley has a love/hate relationship with Paris. As an artist she's being given the opportunity of a lifetime. She's unsure of what might happen but with the support of her family, she finds she's where she's supposed to be.

Another story on the Baxter family. The author always states you don't have to have read previous books but she's been writing on them for years that it's probably a good idea.

I loved the premise of Forgiving Paris. It was a unique storyline, unlike others I’ve read recently. I haven’t read Karen Kingsbury in many years and was looking forward to this title. As a non Christian, I had trouble overcoming the many references to faith and using faith as a personality trait. The book is classified as fiction- rather than religious. As I got further in the book, I felt the biblical references felt they were inserted inorganically to the story.. The holy apparitions lost me, sadly. Despite my problems with the faith based story line, i finished the book.
I enjoyed the story and felt the life experiences the protagonist faced were humbling and it was heart warming to see her and those she touched come out the other side. This is a great title for those who have the same religious beliefs.

This is a poignant tale of love, faith and forgiveness. It is a must read for everyone, especially if you struggle with things you haven't forgiven yourself for. Ashley and Landon travel to Paris for their anniversary and an art show that Ashley is showing in. While en route and during the beginning of her stay, Ashley relives everything that happened while she was in Paris over twenty years ago. Her husband, Landon, provides much needed moral support to her as he forgives herself and Paris. How did God use Ashley's time in Paris for good? Witness God's hand of power and grace in this pivotal book!

My ARC was provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was a fantastic journey into Ashley Baxter Blake's past in Paris. I absolutely LOVE the tie in with the gospel of Jesus quieting the storm and the look at the little boats. Each life that was touched from her time in Paris and how she gets to see it today is amazing. We don't always get to see this, but we need to remember that God does. All things work together for the glory of God! What an great, great story!

I greatly enjoy reading stories dealing with redemption and forgiveness, and this one addresses those themes quite well and from a somewhat different angle than many stories. It was refreshing to see how the main character's life impacted others in ways she didn't see at the time, and how that realization later impacts her.

Forgiving Paris was billed as a standalone story, and I do think it works well that way. I suspect I may have gotten even more enjoyment out of it through recognizing connections to other characters and their stories if I had previously read more from the Baxter Family series of books, but pertinent details were provided as needed throughout, so I didn't feel like I was missing anything.

While I've never been to Paris, the descriptions in this book made me want to go see the sights there myself.

Thank you to the publisher for providing an advance reader copy of this book through NetGalley. This review represents my own honest thoughts on the book.

I don’t know any other author that has written so many books about one family and still managed to make them utterly captivating! It’s nice to read about Ashley returning to Paris and facing her past. I enjoyed how Ms. Kingsbury managed to bring Ashley’s mom back into the story, too. I love reading about my friends in the Baxter family and look forward to reading more about them.

I received an advanced readers copy of this book through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

The mystery of what happened to Ashley Baxter is slowly revealed in this heart warming novel. I loved the analogy of the 'little boats' when Jesus stilled the water. Landon's interpretations of the Biblical stories added to the novel. As always, the author provides many teachable moments. Recommended!

Forgiving Paris is a classic story of redemption. Ashley has the opportunity to display her artwork in the very gallery in Paris she worked as a rebellious 20 year old, and by reconnecting with an acquaintance both women can begin to heal from the past that haunts them. I appreciate being able to read Forgiving Paris through Netgalley. We will purchase this title for our library.

If you could go back to a place where you made a tremendous mistake, would you? That is the beginning of the latest book from Karen Kingsbury. Ashley Baxter Blake has been invited to have her art showcased in Paris, Fance but Paris holds lots of bad memories for her. As she and her husband prepare to face her past and celebrate their anniversary, there are others that will also affected by her return - people she has forgotten and people that she never knew. Kingsbury shows how God can use any circumstance for good in this story, even our mistakes.
Many readers know the Baxter family stories but this one has some major twists that will keep you guessing until the very end. Even if you have never read any of the series, you will be hooked when you read this one! It has a great story (of course), characters that you care about, and even a touch of mystery to what will happen next. I received an advance copy from the publisher but all opinions are my own.
