The popular Baxter family saga continues, this time with Ashley Baxter Blake and her husband, Landon, as the main focus of the plot. As they celebrate their wedding anniversary, Ashley and Landon travel to Paris, where Ashley attempts to put to rest some traumatic events from her first visit to Paris 23 years earlier. In this tale of redemption and hope when all seems lost, readers are reminded of the importance of family and faith during troubled times. This uplifting novel would be an excellent addition to any inspirational fiction collection.

If you’re a Karen Kingsbury fan, you LOVE Ashley Baxter Blake. You just do. If Ashley and Landon and Cole are going to be in a book, you know you’re going to love it. Forgiving Paris is exactly that- a delightful completion of Ashley’s backstory and a bright look ahead.

Ashley gets the opportunity to showcase her paintings at the very gallery where she worked as a twenty-year-old during the darkest days of her life. This story shines light into the darkness giving us not only a complete understanding of everything that happened, how it happened, and the transition from fear and regret to forgiveness and redemption and the sweet knowledge that God really, truly works everything— EVERYTHING— out for good.

I caught on to where all the threads were leading right away, but it didn’t take away from the enjoyment of Ashley uncovering all of God’s handiwork. I loved Alice and Gabriel’s story and Mia and Estelle’s stories woven in to create a complete picture.

Forgiving Paris, for me, as just as satisfying as when you are able to look back at your own life and suddenly see what God was doing, even if you couldn’t see it at the time.

I’m excited to see where Karen takes the next generation- Jessie and Gabriel and Cole and Estelle.

I received a complementary copy of this book from the publisher. My opinions are my own.

I was uncommitted this being a religious book, not something I would choose. So, it simply didn’t fit my particular taste.

Thank you Netgalley for this opportunity. I do not post reviews of books when I am not comfortable.

More than 20 years have passed since Ashley has been to Paris and that time she returned home with lots of secrets and her life changed forever. When she arrives in Paris she reconnects with an acquaintenance from the past whose life was also changed forever. They both have memories that haunt them. Can they find healing and closure from the past?

I think there has only been ONE Karen Kingsbury book I kinda sorta liked and I cannot recall the title, it was that forgetful. There was no mention in any of the premises that this is part of a series, and no word about how long the series has become. While the some parts of the story were intriguing there was my too much Christianity and faith throughout the book. I am a Catholic girl myself and I believe in Jesus, but in this book it seems like it forced on the reader to become a Christian and it is off putting. For a good religious Christian series, I recommend the 11/12 books of Left Behind by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins, not this garbage.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!

I forced myself through this but clearly this book is not for a reader or audience like me. Cannot recommend. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thanks to Netgalley, Karen Kingsbury and Atria Books for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you NetGalley and Atria for this free copy in exchange for my honest review.

I found this story very enjoyable and even though part of a series on the Baxter family it was not necessary to have read the previous books to understand and follow along on this adventure with the Baxter family.

Being a Christian novel I was not unaware that the book would have a ministering effect on the reader but I was surprised by the amount of actual scriptures quoted in the story. It was a blessing that the references were also listed so that the reader could look those scriptures up and dig deeper if desired. As heartbreaking as Ashley’s time was with Jean-Claude it was good to see the sites of Paris through Ashley’s eyes. It gives a good list of places one might like to visit if they ever make a trip to Paris. I enjoyed the views around town and learned a little more about the lay of the land.

One part I did not enjoy was the beginning of Chapter 18 when Ashley and Landon met with Alice and her mother, Marie. The conversation didn’t seem to flow easily and felt a bit contrived.

I look forward to sharing this work once copies of the book are available and I have started my list of people to share copies with. I will be posting my review on my Goodreads, FB page and Instagram feed on pub day. Thank you again.

Wow! Ashley's story...once again but at a later stage in life from an earlier Baxter family book featuring Ashley. Although this book COULD be read as a standalone, the story line is far richer if you are a long time reader of Kingsbury's Baxter family series. In "Forgiving Paris", Ashley and her husband travel to Paris on their 18th anniversary for an art show featuring Ashley's art. As they travel, Ashley struggles with memories from her first visit to Paris 22 years prior. While in Paris, Ashley reconnects with women from her previous time in Paris, learning how God was working in her life and theirs 22 years ago. Forgiving Paris is a story of forgiveness, redemption, life lessons learned the hard way, and how God protects us in ways we'll never understand. Forgiving Paris is another outstanding novel by Karen Kingsbury!

As a long time fan of Karen Kingsbury and the Baxter family I was honored to be selected to read Forgiving Paris. This is Ashley Baxter’s story. After many years of healing, marriage, and children, we finally get to visit what happened to her in Paris when she was a young teen.

Ashley goes to Paris for an art show as an adult and takes her loving husband with her this time. The haunting memories of the pain and regret will find her at every turn. With Landon and God by her side she will be able to forgive Paris and create new memories or redemption.

Thank you so much to netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read and review this book. All opinions are my own:

Over the years Ashely Baxter has become a friend and I loved getting to know her more and learning the story of what happened in Paris so long ago. If you are new to the family, I believe you will still enjoy the story for what it is. There is a bit of a mystery/suspense aspect to it as well. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this book.

Karen Kingsbury has been writing about the Baxter family for nearly 20 years. I have lost count of the number of Baxter books she has written but one character has been in all of them and that is Ashley Baxter. We first meet Ashley in the first book Redemption or it could have been the second book, Remember. She had returned from spending time in Paris France as an artist and was pregnant. She had the support of her family. We were not given the details of her affair with the married Frenchman but in this book we learn more of her time there. We meet several of the people she met when she was there and the impact her life made on these people some 20 years later. Also, there is an appearance of some of the angels from the Angels Walking series. Who would enjoy this series? Anyone who loves a clean book that glorifies God and anyone who enjoys reading about the Baxter.

This was a great look back at Ashley Baxter's time in Paris which has been referred to in many Karen Kingsbury books. The details unfolded alongside a current day visit to Paris. The descriptions were beautiful and made me want to visit Paris. I did find the storyline of Ashley being in danger a little far fetched, but it was written well and connected to the prior story. I would recommend this book for any fan of Karen Kingsbury. The theme of forgiveness, no matter what someone has done, is encouraging and needed in today's day and age.

Kingsbury never fails to tug at my heart! Not only does her writing paint a beautiful picture, but I always love how she comes back to a story the reader (may) have wanted from earlier in the Baxter family. Ashley is no different. Not only did I love seeing her story from before when she ran off to Paris, I loved the current tie in that she created with the newer story line. Always, always, always recommend, and I can say that this one is one of my favorites of the year!

I love Karen Kingsbury's stories about the Baxter family. This story is about Ashley. She is probably one of my favorite Baxters. This story takes us back in time to the time Ashley spent in Paris as a young girl. They have mentioned that time in other books and Ashley doesn't not like to talk about that time.
Ashley gets invited to a prestigious art gallery in Paris for a showing. The ghost of her past almost keep her from accepting the offer. But she and Landon decide to go to Paris for their anniversary and put those ghost to rest. Ashley learns a lot about herself on that trip. She also meets some incredible people that she didn't realize she had influenced during her time there. Ashley returns home better for this trip.

I'm so thankful for the chance to read this book. I really enjoyed learning more about Ashley's story and her time in Paris and learning of the blessings that came from her time there. This book could be read alone but having read the Baxter series previously it makes the details more special. I would recommend this book to anyone who has either read the series or who needs a reminder of God's powerful grace. Thank you too Netgalley, the publisher and author for letting me read this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Ashley is having her art work displayed in Paris. She hasn't been back to Paris after getting pregnant and returning home to Indiana to marry her childhood sweetheart. She is scared to return. She meets an old friend in Paris whose life was drastically changed for their friendship. I enjoyed this book and the many characters we got to know.

I must say that every Karen Kingsbury book I have read I have fallen in love with and this book is no exception to that. I love the Baxter family and getting to know their backstories. I always feel like a part of the family when I get lost in a Baxter book! Karen Kingsbury had an awesome way of doing that and helping us to remember our faith while we are at it. I love these books!

In this installment of the Baxter Family, we get Ashley Baxter's story. Ashley and her husband are about to go to Paris for an anniversary getaway as well as Ashley being featured there for her artwork. What else could be better right? For Ashley, Paris has a lot of bad memories and she is hesitant to go back there.

Ashley had just graduated and was ready to take on the world, even if that meant leaving one of her closest friends back in the states. Ashley went to work and live in Paris right after graduating. Not only did Ashley make some choices that were not the smartest, but they also left her with lasting effects for her choices. Not everyone knows her story and she is not sure what people will think of her if they find out the truth.

No one is perfect and we all make mistakes. It is just what we choose to do with those mistakes that matters. Ashley made some bad choices but also influenced others to make some good choices that saved some lives in the end. You will have to read her story to find out! You will get lost in this book and never want it to end. I did! Congrats on a job well done once again Karen Kingsbury! Now I will be patiently waiting for the next book!

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book for my unbiased review. Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for an advanced copy of this book! Such an AWESOME read!!

This is another great addition to the "Baxter family" story. If you don't like books that have a strong presence of God, you probably won't like it. The book shows how God works through all of our trials for a better outcome than what is realized at the present time. I cried through the last two chapters for the healing that took place. But in the author's comments, she said she cried when she wrote it. This is a stand alone book, but it helps if you've read some of the previous Baxter books. However, Karen does give a brief history and description of the Baxter family at the end of the book. I thought she might have cut and pasted parts from her earlier novels. But after finishing the book, I believe it was all new material.

I'm going to be an outlier, I'm sure. Forgiving Paris was presented as a a book about a marriage, a mistake made two decades ago, a reunion between two women--all set in Paris. The cover is lovely and the premise, as I understood it, was intriguing.

As the story began, I was drawn in. Established in the late 1990s, set in Paris, as promised, it is the story of a mother and daughter struggling with the young woman's heroin addiction and its horrifying consequences. But the book soon jumps to the present and the life of the Baxter family.

This book is part of a long, long (I had not idea how long) series of books about the very Christian Baxter family. Just a few chapters in, I looked up Karen Kingsbury and found she is a Christian author who teaches at Liberty University. That was all I needed to know to explain the numerous Bible stories, scriptures, prayers, and praises to God and Jesus found every few pages throughout the book.

While this story tries to be a romance, a mystery, a police procedural, a family story, a travelogue (so many things) for me, I couldn't get past the proselytizing. I felt I was in a never-ending Sunday school class instead of reading the book I was promised.

Needless to say, I felt duped. Nowhere in the blurb was it mentioned that this was a "Baxter story." Some reviewers have mentioned it can be read as a stand alone, and it can. But the frequent mention of the dozens of other Baxter family characters and the filling in of their backstories really detracts from the storytelling. If you took that out, Forgiving Pariswould be about 1/3 shorter.

I am obviously not the audience for this book, which is fine. I just wish that had been made clear in the blurb.

Another wonderful book by Karen! The Eiffel Tower is one of my favorite places, so of course I love the cover! I love the back story about Ashley's time in Paris, and I always love the sequels on the Baxter Family. The only thing I didn't like was how they dealt with the hit man.....should have expanded that some more.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to review Forgiving Paris by Karen Kingsbury. I really enjoyed the story and all the characters. What I found off putting was her religious references. I’ve never read one of Ms Kinsbury’s books before, so I was surprised. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this book or read another one from this author.
