I really loved this book in a new to my series and author. I can't wait to read the next one. The characters and location really add to the plot. This book keeps you guessing until the end

SUCH a fun book!!! I love the ghosts. I love New Orleans. I love the characters. Very sweet!
This is the start of a series that I’m very much looking forward to reading. The old lady ghost is my favorite part. I miss the characters so I’m going to seek out the other books. Enjoy!
A super cute paranormal mystery.
It took me too long to pick this up! I am truly grateful to Net Galley for the advance copy. I am a mood reader and even though I requested this title, I just couldn't get in the mood.
BUT...I finally did and I was not disappointed. This story was funny and light hearted, and has talking hedgehog named Auguste! The pacing was perfect and characters were fun to follow. There were some inconsistencies with the plot here and there, and even some grammatical errors. Overall I enjoyed myself. 3*
Once Ghosted had an original take on the ghost in mystery sub genre. Love how it began with a wish and the app. There's a big cast of interesting supporting characters and hopefully they play a big role in subsequent books.
The mystery was satisfying. I wished there had been a bit more development about the app and the expectations and requirements of someone participating and more information about why Paige was chosen.
Looking forward to seeing what happens in the next book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It was a cute premise but it took so much for me to get into this story. Paige is sweet, but kind of an airhead and a little wishy-washy for my liking. An app randomly shows up on her phone and ghosts can ask for her help, because she also randomly talks to ghosts now. Her friends and her talking hedgehog made it all feel very Scooby Doo and a tad immature. I'm all for having fun but this didn't feel like an adult mystery. It felt almost YA.
An exciting, fun, and gentle cozy mystery with lots of cool paranormal elements. The author creates a fantastic world set in New Orleans, with sleuths, ghosts, and a talking hedgehog! I loved the main character, Paige, and her circle of friends — it's one of the things I love most about cozy mysteries, how the sleuths often form a found family of hilarious and smart people. The elderly ghost grandma is THE BEST.
This book creates a found family so well, and I can't wait to read more of Paige's terrestrial, and paranormal, adventures!
Princess Fuzzypants here: There are a number of cozies with paranormal themes. Often the ghosts are comic relief or the bête noirs of the feisty female investigating murders. This one is a bit different. Set in New Orleans, the ghost capital of the world, Paige works for a ghost tour company when she is approached by a handsome guy who works in the neighbourhood, who just happens to be dead. Then his corpse ends up at her feet outside of her friend’s bakery. Paige has never had a glimmer of an idea that she could see ghosts but the surprises just keep on coming.
She discovers her beloved pet, Auguste the hedgehog can speak to her- or as he corrects, he was always talking to her, she just wasn't listening. Then she learns her mentor in this new world of ghostly detective work turns out to the be the guy who “ghosted” her four years earlier and broke her heart. She is not done yet. Her bakery friend is being framed for the murder and the people who really did this are part of a secret society where they have traded a deal with the devil for power and fame. As she learns there are vampires and other spooky creatures, she is also going to meet the “big guy” who turns out to be anything but expected.. But the biggest surprise is the return of her great grandmother and her best friend, who did this spectral sleuthing before arriving on the other side and wrote of the adventures in a highly successful mystery series that Paige adores.
I liked this book on so many level. I liked the suspense and the complex characters and plot line. I loved the relationships she builds with her ghostly associates. I think this has a lot of potential and I look forward to seeing how this unusual detective team moves forward. Five purrs and two paws up.
Thank you netgalley and the publisher for my copy of this book.
I wasn't a huge fan. It's not bad, but it just wasn't up to my usual standards.
Super cute read perfect for getting you into the mood for Halloween or anything spooky if I’m being honest! Loved how easy and quick it was to read!
Once Ghosted, Twice Shy by Jessica Arden offers a fresh new concept in paranormal cozies - an app that connects the protagonist with ghosts who need help solving their murders. It’s a new twist that should resonate with the younger generation of cozy readers. I really enjoyed the New Orleans setting, as well as the laugh inducing antics of some of the characters. However, I didn’t really feel a connection with the characters and I couldn’t quite put my finger on what was missing for me. The twists and turns were fun so overall, I would say this is a solid entry in the cozy paranormal genre. (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy and all opinions are my own.)
There was so much I liked about this: the New Orleans setting, the idea of the ghost apps, the idea that she has to help ghosts solve their murder so they can cross over; this all made for an interesting read. But there was also a lot that didn't work for me: the talking hedgehog, the way their house was laid out never made any sense, and so many typos/errors that should have been caught in editing. There was so much repetition of the same thought, sometimes within pages of each other, that it was distracting. The story itself was good but the writing didn't flow well for me because of these mistakes that it was work to get through this. I will try the next one to see if it improves.
This new paranormal cozy mystery from Jessica Arden is just so gosh-darned cute.
And despite the incredibly amateur (and slightly cringeworthy) cover art, the writing itself is quite impressive. This ghostly whodunnit was thoroughly enjoyable to read.
My favourite part was without a doubt the hilarious antics of Magnolia and Moisha, essentially the Babette and Miss Patty of the afterlife.
And the thrilling and twisty plot was more fully-realized than I could have expected from the often underdeveloped genre.
Add this to your spooky season TBR list if you're a fan of "Agatha Raisin, "Being Human" or "Gilmore Girls."
This is a great book to get into the mood for Halloween. Set in New Orleans, Paige Harrington makes a wish on her 25th birthday to find something she can be passionate about. She didn't expect it to be an app that connects her to ghosts. Her first is a cute bartender that needs help solving his murder. This isn't your normal cozy as it's a bit dark and that makes it all the more fun to read. The characters were all relatable and the talking hedgehog, Auguste, is the best. I'm interested in finding out more about the Enclave.
A body drops from the sky and lands on Paige while she leads a haunted tour.
Her friend becomes a suspect in the murder of said body.
The ghost of the body asks Paige for help in solving his murder.
Paige's long dead Great Grandma comes to visit.
Paige's hedgehog begins speaking to her.
A society of urban legend stalks Paige and, yeah, the EX Mr. Right shows up to mentor her in the fine art of solving ghostly crimes.
It's been a heck of a week and to add to the chaos, Paige still hasn't found her true purpose in life..
A fun start to a new cozy paranormal series.
I love a good cozy mystery and this book did not disappoint! Perfect for fall to get in the fun, ghost fix! Highly recommend!
My favorite kind of reads this time of year. It was excellent in that it kept me turning pages well past my bed time I have to see more of this authors books
I really enjoyed this one. It was perfect for a pre~fall, and definitely got me in the mood for Halloween!
Ghosts, mystery, and mayhem happen when a newbie ghost mystery solver gets involved with the death of a sort of friend and a strange secret society. Lots to read, lots to figure out.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I received this book for free for an honest review from netgalley #netgalley
I really wanted to like this book but it was really odd in areas. I didn't understand why the hedgehog talked. But the ghost app was a fun twist.
