Mystery and suspense are two of my favorite genres, so unsurprisingly, I want to read ALL of the books excerpted in this anthology. I’m familiar with Camilla Sten and Anna Downes, but the other authors are new to me. These books are a great way to learn about upcoming titles and authors.

I know that not every reader enjoys excerpts. If you are like me though and love getting to read more than the description, this sampler has six really good choices.
I have been fortunate to be approved for A Flicker in the Dark and The Resting Place( both are so good), and the other four books pulled me right into the stories. I had to sit on my request finger to not immediately hit that button. It is the end of the year though and I'm catching up on books that I already have!
All I can say is that if you loved Minotaur's selections in 2021, 2022 is looking as good if not better.

Thank you for allowing me to read and review this sampler! I'm excited to read many of these and it's truly a great collection of thrillers! I was most interested in "The Night Shift" and "A Flicker in the Dark" - but they all seem really captivating!

Five Stars. I always love receiving these samplers to review. As a fan of mysteries and scary stuff, I'm really looking forward to several of these, especially A Flicker in the Dark (Stacy Willingham), The Shadow House (Anna Downes), and The Resting Place (Camilla Sten) - but to be honest, I'll be adding all six to my tbr. I don't think there's a bad choice in the bunch.

This sampler features a collection of suspenseful mysteries with young, strong, female leads. Each title is gripping and sucks you into well-developed backstory and thrilling plot twists and turns. This would be a great collection to take along for some light vacation reading or to gift to any lover of the mystery and thriller genres.

What a great mix of thrillers!

It seemed right as I was getting into each story, wham!! To be continued. Many of these, I can't wait to read the complete book.

All of the books in this Sampler were enticing. I have already started reading a copy of Camilla Sten's latest title, The Resting Place. It is interesting that it is the second book I've come across this year where a character suffers from prosopagnosia (I'd never even heard of the disorder before this year). I'm not completely on board with Alex Finlay, and after reading the opening chapters of his latest book, The Night Shift, the jury is still out. All of the books sampled in the Sampler were page flippers. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of The Shadow House, Under Lock and Skeleton Key, and A Flicker in the Dark. Each left me with a taste for more. Not so for Pay Dirt Road - not a good fit for me.

This is exactly what it says it is. A fantastic group of Sampler stories from Minotaur. Each book is the start of the story relating to each book and author. I was so wrapped up from the very start, I couldn’t put this down.

All 6 books are different in their own right but oh so good! I so much wanted to be able to keep reading on in each story to see what was going to happen. What a great hook. I will definitely be checking all 6 of these books out.

This was a really great sampler for 6 different books. I definitely want to read the entire books now!!!

A fantastic chance to read samples from six upcoming titles. Two of the six books really stood out for me;

The debut novel 'A Flicker In The Dark' by Stacey Willingham is exactly the kind of story I love to read. Chloe Davis' father is a convicted serial killer. Even though she has gotten her life back on track, the trauma of this happening when she was twelve has obviously had an impact on her, leaving her paranoid and dependant on medication to get through each day. Then on the 20th anniversary, someone she knows goes missing - is it happening all over again? The sampler was really intriguing, I loved the concept and can't wait to read on.

The second sample I absolutely loved was 'The Resting Place' by Camilla Sten. I am a huge fan of Nordic Noir novels and also ghost stories so I love the way that Camilla Sten blends the two together. From the first few chapters it seems like it will be a classic haunted house story with a modern twist as the protagonist has prosopagnosia or "face blindness". Even though she saw her grandmother's killer, she isn't able to describe him or her and wouldn't be able to recognise them if she saw them again. I was hooked from the start, such an interesting idea for a novel and I was so disappointed when the sample finished and I couldn't continue with the story!

It was nice to get a taste of a number of upcoming books. I requested the ones that interested me the most and I look forward to reading them.

Super excited about these books! It’s hard to just read a little bit of a book but it definitely made me put these on my ‘must have’ list! They sound so good.

So lucky to get another ARC from #StMartinPress and #NetGalley for this title. I adore these samplers of several books to see which one(s)you may like to read in depth. Three or four chapters of each whet your appetite for more.

These six were all mysteries. My fave was The Shadow House by Anna Downes. All intrigue and entice you. Other titles were: A Flicker in the Dark, by Stacy Willingham, The Night Shift by Alex Findlay, Under Lock and Skeleton Key by Gigi Pandian, The Resting Place by Camilla Sten and Pay Dirt Road by Samantha Jayne Allen.

This is a great little sampler book. I did enjoy what I have read so far and I will be adding a few of the books to my pile for review in the near future.

In this sampler,you have six different stories to read and get a taste of different stories that will be published .This is just one of many samplers that they come out with. I like this because it gives me a example of what the story is about and then you can decide for yourself if you would like to read the whole story when it's published.. After you do read and you want more,you can find out when the whole book will be published or where you can find the book and author... Received from Net Gallery..

I adore these releases of excerpts from upcoming books to be looking out for! This one is no exception. It has some known authors with new releases coming soon as well as some authors that I have not tried previously. I am now looking forward to broadening my thriller author list! Loved this!
