Charles retired CIA living on the San Juan Island with a wife and two small children. Once again pulled in, the last two sisters who had gone undercover in Russia, having no communication from them. Trouble begins when they put him on a kill list, when the mafia son is killed.
The words flow in this good plot. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion from Net Galley and Thomas Mercer.

Robert Dugoni is such an intriguing writer. All of his novels are filled with deep characters and complex stories. "The Silent Sisters" is another example of great writing and an amazing story line. I recommend this novel; and all of this novels for that matter!

Thank you NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer for the ARC of this book. After reading the first book in this series I became a huge fan of Robert Dugoni and started reading all of his books. I think Charles Jenkins is his best character ever. so congratulations to the real Charles Jenkins! The writing is great, easy to read and made me want to keep reading. The story was a wonderful addition to the series.

This is my favorite series among Robert Dugoni's books. His David Sloane series are legal thrillers, and the Tracy Crosswhite books are police procedurals. Charles Jenkins is a semi-retired CIA operative who has retreated to quiet family life in the San Juan Islands of Washington state. Yet it seems there is always another assignment that only he can carry out.

Dugoni's writing is always intelligent and thoughtful, his characters always three-dimensional. What sets Charles Jenkins apart is that he is even more complex than the other series lead characters, and of course he acts on a global stage compared with Sloane's courtroom and Crosswhite's Seattle streets.

And then there is Russia, which is Jenkins' specialty. He exfiltrates CIA assets in the nick of time before the Kremlin eliminates them. Despite his age, he remains fit and has a good mind and a good heart. (And Dugoni gives an actual Vladimir Putin!)

Thanks to NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer for an advance readers copy.

The author shows his versatility as he leaves the Pacific Northwest and his police mystery series. Here on the world stage we see his expertise in creating a very good story of international espionage.

Sadly I have not read the first two books before this one! So I already have them saved on my Kindle Store!
So I definitely read out of order which I hate doing but did anyways!

If you enjoy stories that never let up on the thrills and suspense factors, pick this one up.!.it won't disappoint!
I am now going to go read book one & two via Kind!e Unlimited😊
Charles is on his mission, he has finally decided or thinks he is done in the spy game!.
But then two of the seven American assets sisters who have been deep.undercover in Russia for a very long time cut off communication with their handlers.
Could they be hiding or could something be wrong?
It is Charles job to find out what happened. One thing though he has been added to the Russian kill list!

WoW! Dugoni can write. His consistency in storytelling in different genres is to be highly admired.
What I loved most is that all of this could actually happen. A little scary actually!
Excellent writing that are intriguing and inviting and they make you not want to put the book down.
