I'm in the mood for sweet Christmas stories and I thoroughly enjoyed this one.
It's engrossing, heartwarming and festive.
Good character and plot development.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine
This was a lovely Christmas-feeling book, where the bad guy got his comeuppance and the wronged person came out on top, always a good feeling!
Christa is recently divorced and lost her Michelin starred restaurant to her (horrible) husband so is at a loose end until a friend recommends her as a private chef over Christmas, working for a workaholic divorced billionaire and his cheeky twin sons.
Christa slowly works her way into their affections, sorting the twins out by giving them some gentle discipline, and everything is going well until her ex, and Marc's ex and the twins mother, turn up as a couple to spend Christmas there too.
There are certainly some interesting characters, I liked Crista and the side characters more than some of the main characters, but it was a fun, very enjoyable Christmas themed read.
Thanks Netgalley for a arc copy of this book for a honest review..
Christmas Wishes at Pudding Hall was a delightful read a heartwarming story looking forward to read her back list books. 5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Christmas Wishes at Pudding Hall is the quintessential Holiday Story. It is light, fun, entertaining and able to hold my attention. This is perfect for a cozy afternoon read that is relaxing and heartwarming. I do recommend it to the fullest! Well done!
This book is sweet and cute, but sadly for me I found Christmas Wishes at Pudding Hall to be a little too saccharine, everything runs smoothly, there is very little drama, don’t get me wrong the writing is lovely, it just feels too much , the romance feels forced and I couldn’t really feel any chemistry. Overall , it was so cute read but so cute it couldn’t hold my interest or draw my emotions in. 2.5 stars
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion
Thank you NetGalley, Kate Forster and Aria & Aries for the copy of Christmas Wishes at Pudding Hall. This is my personal review.
I adore Christmas books and this one was a book that was just perfect. It gave me everything I want in a holiday story and more. Christa needed to readjust her life and finding what can do that is in a way she wasn’t imaging. An opportunity for her to become a chef for a billionaire was the path she found herself on. Marc isn’t what she expected and surely, she never imagined having his twin sons Seth and Ethan come into her life.
All the characters that Kate Forster gave us in this story are all perfectly written and gave me a group of people who I truly cared about and felt like they had become family to me by the last page.
This is one holiday book you will read and enjoy from the first word to the last.
Christa Playfoot needs a break from her eventful life. So much has happened & so many changes have been made. What else can happen to her! I did enjoy this book. A lovely flowing book with great characters too. Christa needs some good things to happen to her. Recommended read. Enjoy.
Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Christa is facing alot of changes over the holidays. Her good friend has found her a job being a temporary cook for a family. She jumps at the chance. This book was an enjoyable read.
I loved this book. A wonderfully warming Christmas story. Perfect for cosying up by the fire with as the nights draw in.
Thank you NetGalley, author Kate Forster, and Aria publishing for giving me a free arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Ever since I read "Finding Love at Mermaid Terrace" by author Kate Forester, I have become a huge fan of her books. So when I saw there was a new release coming out by author Forester, I immediately asked for an arc and was so excited to be granted one!
This book was everything I could have asked for in a Christmas romance such as family, friends, cooking, and a feel-good romance with a swoon-worthy hero and a down-to-earth heroine. I loved the author's inclusion of the recipes throughout the book! What a treat! The characters were well developed and likeable. I loved Christa! All she wanted was a fresh start after a messy divorce. She is so feisty and loving towards the twin boys! The romance between Christa and Marc. Christa helped him to realize what was really important-his boys! The exs were horrible human beings and really was glad they were the exs and not the current partners of our main characters. I loved the setting! The feeling of the Christmas was expertly woven throughout the story. Overall, this was a very heart warming story and I would recommend this book to anyone who love the Christmas season! I can't wait for more books by this author in the future.
Wow. This was not exactly the book I thought it was going to be. But it was certainly the book I wanted it to be! Christa's story was the story of a strong woman finding her strength again. I love a good Christmas book with a HEA. Grab this book and put it on your reading list for a lovely holiday book.
Thank you to Aria Books and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.
Rating edit: 2.5 stars
This is my third book by the author, thanks to Netgalley. I like her stories, they're sweet and delightful.
Christmas Wishes at Pudding Hall is nice and sweet, and yet I am a bit disappointed because it's too sweet. And too convenient, without any real conflict. It goes in a perfectly straight line.
It starts well, the writing is engaging but as the story proceeds it - too much sweetness, too much food descriptions - gets a bit tedious.
The characters: I didn't feel their connection. Their romance seems forced and kind of instant. The blurb says, 'grumpy man' but Marc is not really grumpy, however the author tries to portray him, occasionally, grumpy because he's supposed to be? Christa wants to change her attitude, but you see, changing habits, attitude is not like switching on/off. But here, Christa is a completely changed person in a day. She even seems nosey and pushy at times.
The kids: they are kind of spoiled/ignored, don't go to school, spend too much time watching TV, playing video games because, well, their father is busy (however, he's always available for chit chat and all that) but from the very first day, they are well behaved, sitting calmly, because, well, Christa says so.
I mean nobody is struggling (except in their backstories, which appear in their conversation once in a while). So basically, it was so sweet and nice that it was kind of boring and annoying. If it makes sense.
This book really got me in the mood for the Christmas! I loved the story of Christa who becomes a private chef for a wealthy family. Shes end up at pudding Hall and brings a little christmas magic with her! Highly recommended if you love a christmas love story!
Aw this is so lovely!!!! I love a Christmas book and this one did not disappoint!!! Beautiful and festive and perfect for this weather change
My thanks to netgalley & publishers for the ARC in return for my review, which is my own honest review.
This is the first time I have read this author, and hopefully not the last. Following her divorce from Simon, Clarrisa had been in partnership with him and they owned a restaurant in London. Clarissa was offered a job as chef for a month over Christmas at Pudding Hall in Yorkshire. The owner Marc was a divorced succesful businessman with twin boys. All went well until a few days before Chrismas his ex wife turned up for Christmas to be with her sons. The only problem was she had her latest boyfriend with her, who just happened to be Simon. Simon being the ex of Clarissa.
Clarissa formed a friendship at the soup kitchen in York for the needy. Petey who ran a fudge stall in the market.
Clarissa got on well with the twins and they grew to love her. It was a lovely read, very funny in parts. Sad in others as we learn about the past of Marc & Clarissa.
The book also contained receipes at the end of some chapters, relating to the subject in that chapter. For preference I would have preferred them to be all together at the end, as I think it could be hard to find them again. I read this on my Kindle. They might be easier to find in 'Book' form.
I can recommend this book.
I've absolutely loved the books I've read by this author and was excited to read this one. I really struggled with the first half of this book, I just didn't find the characters as engaging. However it did pick up and I did enjoy reading it but it just wasn't as outstanding as previous books.
This wasn’t bad but it also wasn’t great. I could do without the misandry and such. So many comments about it being bad if a guy takes more time to get ready than a woman (why? Surely everyone is welcome to preen at their own rate), how long lashes are “wasted” on men (again, why?) and other such zingers. Very annoying.
Christa was a wet noodle doormat type character who tried to pretend to be strong and capable. It just didn’t work out. I didn’t find the romance believable at all.
I really enjoyed this book , great cast of likeable and unlikeable characters, i will try some of the recipes. Thanks
The imagery in this book was stunning, the descriptions of Pudding Hall both inside and out were beautiful and the symbolism of the Stag and doe was just the icing on the cake.
Christa Playfoot is looking for a fresh start after her divorce. Having lost her Michelin-starred restaurant, she hadn't expected to be job hunting and single just before Christmas.
When her best friend says she's recommended Christa for a gig as a private chef over the Christmas period, Christa can't think of a reason to say no.
Christa has no idea what to expect but it's certainly not grumpy billionaire divorcee Marc Ferrier and his rambunctious twin sons, or the beautiful but cheerless country estate, Pudding Hall, that they inhabit.
With her knack for pouring love into her cooking, Christa is determined to make this Christmas sparkle for the Ferrier family and maybe get her life back on track in the process...
Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for allowing me to read this book. However the biggest thanks needs to go to Kate Forster for writing it! With Kate you are guaranteed a warm feeling whilst reading as her writing is always spot on. There were as always some twists and turns but essentially encapsulates everything that is important about Christmas, friends family and giving. There is an element of selflessness from Christa which we could all take on board, I, similar to other readers, i read this in one go and absolutely loved the recipes at the end of the chapters. Thoroughly enjoyed this and cannot wait to read Kates next!
