This is the 5th book in the series but can be read as a stand-alone.

Cassidy is healing from a broken heart and serious wounds from a car wreck. Markus is recovering from an attempt on his life when he meets Cassidy. Ghost steals the show with his protectiveness and just being a fantastic dog.

I loved Markus and Cassidy together! There are some steamy moment but there are other plots going on: they have to find out who tried to murder Markus and who’s trying to silence Cassidy. There’s a guaranteed HEA in this quick, easy romantic suspense book!

Thank you NetGalley and Entangled Publsjing for an advanced copy!

Terrific romantic suspense. Action packed. Lots of broken windows. Some sweet and some sad family issues. Interesting personal growth for both. Ghost is a wonderful part of the story. As usual, I skipped the intimate details and would have been happier without the "f" word. I still enjoyed the story and want to read more.

Someone tried to kill U.S. Secret Service Officer Markus York who along with his K9 partner Ghost, patrol the White House grounds. After an evening event, he is stabbed and another officer is killed. While recovering, he is injured from a fall and is taken to the hospital by Cassidy Morgan, who lives next door. Cassidy, an accountant, works from home after barely surviving a recent car accident. When they are shot at after leaving the hospital, he knows that his assailant is determined to end his life, but why? Investigating the attempt on his life, the threats continue, her home is burglarized and she is attacked. Now, his focus is on protecting her as she has slowly worked her way into his life. Cassidy is from a loving and close-knit family while Markus was raised by an abusive father. Will she show him what love is supposed to be while he works to keep them safe? Two amazing and strong main characters, romance and suspense, witty dialog, loving family members and his friends from previous books make this an exceptional fifth book in the series. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)

Wow, buckle up readers, it's a wild ride! Serve 'N' Protect is an action-packed romantic suspense by Tee O'Fallon. Ms. O'Fallon has provided readers with a well-written book populated with a phenomenal cast of characters. Cassidy is a self-employed CPA after an accident made it hard for her to get around. When her temporary new neighbor's dog raised enough ruckus to get her attention she went to investigate and found Markus in a pool of blood. Markus is keeping a low profile after his partner was murdered and he was stabbed in the back. Cassidy and Markus's story is packed with drama, humor, sizzle, action and suspense. This book kept me glued to my e-reader from cover to cover and I look forward to my next book by Tee O'Fallon. Serve 'N' Protect is book 5 of the Federal K-9 Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The delicious team of K9 handlers, from all walks of law enforcement, are back.

Cassidy barely survived a car wreck and lost her reprehensible fiancee in the process. She's still not back to 100% and she's learning to live her new "normal" way. But when a huge white dog appears at her door and lets her know that someone needs help, she steps out of her comfort zone.

She knows that her neighbour rents out his home when he's overseas but she has no idea who is staying there now. Though she does get worried when he's bleeding out but doesn't want a hospital! She's not about to let him die on her so she manages to get him into the car anyway - ably helped by her new furry friend!

Markus has his reasons for hiding out -someone killed his colleague and nearly succeeded in killing him only a few weeks ago. He's trying to lay low but paparazzi at the hospital have put paid to that. Cassidy soon finds herself drafted as nursemaid to the injured K9 officer.

Cassidy and Markus soon find their rhythm, Markus also takes over Cassidy's rehab, her previous PT was an absolute waste of space. Before long danger has found them once more!

I've loved all the Federal K-9 series but you can easily read them as stand-alones. As usual, the K9's steal the show! Ghost is just such a wonderful character and lives up to his "giant marshmallow" status LOL.

I don’t know what it was about the story but the further I got into it the more I just really became addicted to it. This book is more than just a classic story of the cop next-door. The author managed to incorporate many different threads and leveled it up to include quite a bit of romance, crime, and suspense.

The characters beautifully mesh together and that lust for each other is slow to manifest but we get that burning desire that builds throughout the book. They clearly have multiple obstacles to overcome but I feel that the connection and the strength between them helps them to support each other.

One of the favorite characters in this book is Ghost, the K-9. The addition of this crazy, sweet animalistic character just brings the story to a whole other level. Serve ‘N’ Protect is an endearing book loaded with care, concern, steam, passion, and even a bit of zaniness which develops into a romantic suspense I could not get enough of.

So much love for this one! I need to read the other stories now! O’Fallon – I’m coming for more!

At this point in my romance reading journey, I have read a lot of military romance, particularly with K-9 companions. There is a certain formula, which I love, that goes along with these stories that makes them comfortably predictable. I open a military romance with a trusty dog companion, and I almost always know what I'm getting into. This book was different, and I think that's what made it so exciting for me...and earned it a 5-star rating early on while reading. I had no idea where this story was going to go! The characters were both wounded physically and mentally, and rather than having a clear "knight in shining armor" and "damsel in distress," you see the strength in both individuals. Not to mention the dog was an adorable jekyll and hyde - cute and fluffy one minute and an absolute terror the next. I thought it depicted the two distinct personas of working dogs really well, and it was very obvious to me that this author had done their homework.

There is one rule when you're in hiding after someone has tried to kill you - don't be seen. Of course, that's easier said than done when you're a stubborn secret service agent who is used to doing for himself. While trying to change a lightbulb, Markus York falls from a ladder, reopening the wounds he received from the attempt on his life. Discovered by his neighbor, Cassidy Morgan, he is convinced into going to the hospital and putting his undercover status at risk. That's when the troubles start. Cassidy has had a rough time of it as well, having been in a car accident one year ago that left her barely able to walk without the use of a cane. She knows what stubborn looks like, because she sees it in the mirror every day. Thankfully, that makes her perfectly qualified to give the snark right back to Marcus. What's a guy to do when his dog loves the woman, he gets warm and fuzzy in her presence, and, oh yes, now she has become a target for the bad guys too? Guess they'll be spending more time together. Let the games begin.

I adored both Cassidy and Markus from the first moment I met them. Cassidy is clearly a strong, independent woman who has been hurt both emotionally and physically by the events of the last year. Not only has she been convinced that her movement will forever be hindered by her injuries, but she's also been convinced that she isn't worth a man's time. Her confidence is on the floor, and she can't even bend down to pick it up without pain. Enter Markus, an extremely fit man who has been laid low by someone still out there, waiting to finish the job. Having been in the Marines, then working as a secret service agent, he is completely unused to not having anything to do. His dog, Ghost, is similarly bereft without a job. Cassidy is exactly who they need to lift their spirits, especially when Markus realizes that he can help her get well physically as she helps him do the same. This is a bit of a Grump/Sunshine couple, as Cassidy has a little more pep in her life than Markus, but given his childhood and subsequent years remaining separate from his family, I am not at all surprised that he has become a bit emotionally constipated (as my book friends like to say). There is also some mention of childhood abuse, so if that is a trigger for you, please be aware going in.

I definitely need to go back and read the other books in this series now! While I didn't feel I needed to read them to enjoy this book, we do meet characters from the previous books that make me want to read their stories. Looking forward to it!

Serve ‘N’ Protect is the fifth addition to Tee O’Fallon’s amazing Federal K-9 series. It is an action packed, romantic suspense novel involving law enforcement and their K-9 partners. The storyline is fantastic and well written while the connection and chemistry between the characters keeps the reader wanting more. I couldn’t put the book down.

I love Marcus York and Cassidy Morgan together. They are two people who have both been physically and emotionally damaged and are struggling to overcoming what life has thrown at them. Together they are better and stronger, but can they outwit the dangerous elements that surround them? Will Cassidy’s love and Ghost’s loyal be enough to teach Marcus how to open his heart? Read it and find out!

Books in this series can be read as a standalone, but they are best enjoyed when read in order as O’Fallon often links characters and storylines from the previous books. I can’t wait for book!

This book was such a pleasant surprise. Tee O'Fallon is a new to me author and I'm so glad I found her. Serve N Protect (Federal K 9) is part of a series and unfortunate for me ... I'm going to have to read the ones I missed and continue to read future ones. She is definitely an author I'll follow. This book includes a K9 "Ghost" whom you will love - doesn't always steal the show but tries awfully hard. Marcus and Cassidy, two people with baggage - aren't looking for someone but end up next door to each other and coming to each other's rescue in more ways than one. Marcus is a federal officer (not giving away anything here) but he's the strong, stoic type who can bend and open up. Cassidy, part of a large Irish family, has her own challenges too but I love how their relationship develops. Of course there is a mystery - but enough turns in the road to hold your interest. And I also love Marcus' s friends - and the relationship of the male characters. It's not often you have this much dialogue between men regarding relationships/teasing, etc. It made me smile. Definitely don't need to read other titles first - if this is your first change to read Tee O'Fallon - definitely take it - if you've read her before, I'm sure you are planning to read this one too. Enjoy.

Cassidy Morgan has plenty of her own problems, but when a dog is suddenly barking furiously at her door, she has no choice but to follow him. The dog leads her to her neighbor John's house and she finds a man - not John - unconscious and bleeding out. Although she can barely hear him mumbling that "they" might find him, Cassidy is determined to call the police and an ambulance.

The man - Markus York, as she soon learns - communicates enough to Cassidy for her to make the decision to take him to the hospital herself - because, even with his protestations, she knows that he needs immediate medical help. Getting Markus to her car is certainly not easy. For one thing, he is a big man. What is more is that she is barely on her own two feet after a very serious car accident a year earlier.

Cassidy and Markus soon find themselves working together in more than one way. For starters, Cassidy agrees to help Markus to heal while searching for the man responsible for his injuries is found. What is more is that Markus thinks he can at least return the favor by helping her to rehab from her accident injuries. Discovering that Markus is a Secret Service agent helps her to feel comfortable with him. But, feeling this sense of comfort is only the tipping point for Cassidy. She finds herself quite drawn to him. The feeling proves to be mutual, despite an ever-present danger that ultimately faces both of them.

From explosive danger, to explosive emotions, Serve 'N' Protect definitely proved to be an edge-on-your-seat read. Both Markus and Cassidy had quite a bit on their plates. Markus was itching to heal as fast as possible, while Cassidy was struggling to stay afloat financially.

Although this book is the fifth book in the Federal K-9 series, it did perfectly well as a standalone to me since I hadn't had the opportunity to read the prior stories. I really loved Ghost, Markus's K-9 partner and friend. This made an already engaging read all that much more enjoyable. With a compelling storyline, compassionate characters and a thrilling conclusion, this book was a fabulous read.

Many thanks to Entangled Publisher and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

Markus is recovering from a serious incident, and hiding out in a friends house. Next door neighbor Cassidy comes to his rescue when he has an accident and they end up becoming friends and more after spending so much time together.
Both are in danger despite Markus's best efforts, so will they be together in the end?

I hadn't read any other books in this series, but don't think it mattered.

Lovely Suspense Romance.
Fab story, I couldn’t put it down! Well rounded characters, great plot, hot romance and a dog named Ghost - what more could you want. Highly recommended.

This was my first Tee O'Fallon book. If I hadn't been made aware that this was the 5th book to the Federal K-9 series, I would never have suspected. This book beautifully on its own.

This book did a fantastic job at plot twists and turns. As someone who worked with dogs for many years, I am always a little concerned for how a canine character will be represented. Tee O'Fallon did beautifully with Ghost's character. I very much enjoyed the service dog turned K-9 vibe allowing for cross over capabilities.

Cassidy and Markus have a wild ride of a romance. With the initial chance meeting, to a growing romance, this book includes suspense, sexy time, real emotions, and Ghost.

This was my first Tee O'Fallon book and it definitely won't be my last. I enjoyed this book poolside very much. I thought Markus was incredibly yummy. I wasn't sure exactly how I felt about Cassidy, at first, but she definitely grew on me in the first few chapters. She was a very tough woman. Markus has a complicated past which leads him to believe things about himself that he has to overcome. Ghost seriously STOLE my heart from the second he plowed through that window to save his owner. Markus is recovering from an attack and Cassidy ends up taking care of him and Ghost, too. I thought this book was very well written with good conflict and backstory. It held my attention from start to finish. Huge thank you to Entangled and Netgalley for allowing me to read and review this book. I can't wait to read the rest of the books in this series.

Cassidy has had a rough time of it lately, recovering from and accident, a failed relationship, and trying to get her feet back under her, both literally and with her work. The last thing she needs is an additional work, but when she tries to do the right thing and help a neighbor she gets more than she bargained for, Markus, a K9 Secret Service agent is recovering from a near death experience, trying to lay low until his attacker is found, so he really doesn’t need any drama or attention from outsiders, but when Cassidy comes to help him out he finds out that maybe she’s just what he needs. This is a continuation in the K9 series about a bunch of friends and it is my favorite book in the series so far! I loved the dynamics between the two with the hit of reality, making it felt like these characters were part of my circle of friends and Ghost, the best fictional dog by far. Like I mentioned earlier there is a touch of realism mixed in with suspense, mystery, humor and romance, and although it is slow build on the romance part the action has you wanting to find out more. While this is part of a series you don’t have to have read the other books (although I highly recommend that you do) to enjoy this one. 5 stars must read suspense romance. I received an arc copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher for my honest review.

Holly smokes just wow what a great amazing book. I loved it! it was just amazing. Terrific, funny, hot intense read. I loved both Cassidy, Marcus and don't forget Ghost. They make such a great team and with all their past and baggage make a wonderful story that is a must-read.
.I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley

I thought this was an interesting, albeit predictable, romantic suspense. Emphasis more on the romance. Honestly, the dog on the cover was the reason I gave it a shot, but it didn't steer me wrong. I liked the character development, and the relationships (romantic and otherwise). It was, as I mentioned, fairly predictable in some areas. I was not nearly as surprised as Cassidy was to find out why she was being targeted. But if you're a fan of romance and dogs, it's a nice read.

I received this book through Netgalley.

Fascinating romantic suspense!

Cassidy truly is a woman of indomitable spirit, one who continues to overcome unimaginable hurdles while keeping her sense of humor and willingness to help others, including her mysterious new neighbor, Markus.

Markus is in hiding while recovering from an attempt on his life when he's further injured in an accident. Cassidy comes to his rescue and ends up instrumental in keeping him safe while he and his team figure out who wants him dead and why.

The romance was heartwarming and sweet, until it wasn't. The vibrant characters made each emotional hurdle believable, with such divergent personalities that it was beautifully satisfying when they found enough common ground for their HEA.

This was a roller coaster of intrigue and suspense as the twists and surprises kept coming. I was instantly captivated and finished the book in one sitting. It's everything a cop romance should be and I highly recommend it. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Mallomars for the win! This is another great story in the K-9 series. It is exciting and truly page turning. Markus is a Secret Service police office and former Marine who has been injured on the job. Cassidy is recovering from an accident that demolished her legs. She is a fighter and a totally good and sweet person. Ghost is Markus’s K-9 partner. The author does a marvelous job with characterization. The plot is great as the danger surrounds both characters. It gives Ghost the opportunity to shine in his role. The family plays a big role in bringing the couple together and getting over there wariness about getting hurt again.
