Mr. Wrong Number by Lynn Painter is a delightful fit for readers who crave lighthearted, humorous, and romantic tales of enemies-to-lovers and brother's best friend romances, with a dash of sexting and Omaha charm, and are looking for a fun, medium-paced read that will leave them smiling and eager for more.
This book was so cute! The very definition of romantic comedy. I couldn't get enough of the two main characters and their chemistry was of the chart
[RECOMMENDATION] If you love a super silly, fun meet cute! If you like a romance novel that feels a little realistic, like in your delulu brain, it could happen to you.
[SYNOPSIS] Olivia is going through it. She's got wrotten luck, and is always the black sheep of her family. One night she gets a cheeky "What are you wearing text?"... but she has no idea of who it's from. She begins texting this mysterious stranger, and developing and enertaining and flirty relationship. FINALLY, something is going her way! Colin is her brother's best friend and roommate (*insert cheers here*), and finds Olivia extremely annoying. Now that she's really down on her luck, again, she is temporarily moving in with them. But why is she so distractingly gorgeous, and WHY is she the other number behind his wrong text? SHOULD HE TELL HER? Ghost her?
[REVIEW] I loooooved the meet cute and concept of this book, it was absolutely so much fun to read and to watch the story develop! Their chemistry had me giggling and kicking my feet.
**This e-book copy was gifted to me by Berkley and Netgalley, thank you! All opinions are my own.
Uffff, was always a fan to wrong number texting ( cough Wattpad and novels cough ), this one was so fun to read through
I laughed a lot to the point my sister thought I was being weirder than usual lmao
I loveddd the forced proximity and really satisfied with how the story went :>
Thank you NetGalley and Berkley publishing group for the ARC.
Absolutely could not put this one down. Sweet and spicy all at the same time. I loved the hidden identity tension and the forced proximity trope.
My only tiny beef was wishing for more opportunities for Liv to see more of the real side of her love interest. I kept waiting for her not to get to see behind the curtain but it never really happened.
I am obsessed with their dynamic though and the human tornado that is Liv.
This was so much fun and definitely a must-read romance!!
WOW did I love this one. Funny, sexy, and both forced-proximity and oh-no-my-big-brother’s-best-friend tropes. A love interest that our main character may have been seeing wrong since high school, and a main character who can never quite get it together.
I SCREAMED at the excerpt from the Love Wager at the end! I wasn’t expecting it and it was PERFECT!
Oh my gosh, this book was so good! I wish I hadn’t waited so long to read it, it was such an enjoyable read. Once I started reading this book, I didn’t want to put it down. The author does a great job at getting you hooked and wanting to read more.
This book had so many great parts to it. I found it to be hilarious, I found myself laughing often during the book. It had brothers best friend, enemies to lovers and roommate tropes in it. There was also text conversations in the book, which I absolutely loved! This is a super quick and easy read. If you’re looking for a quick and fun read, I highly recommend checking this book out!
Thank you Netgalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.
Loved reading this spicy romance novel!! I always love books which have characters who are writers or work in publishing and the female protagonist in this one was so relatable!! She was not a klutz as others thought she is.. she is just passionate.
I really enjoyed reading my first adult romance from Lynn Painter. A fun brother’s best friend trope with a lovable heroine you just want to root for. The back and forth banter was perfection and had me laughing out loud. One of my favorite things in a book is text conversations and this delivered!
I really enjoyed this brother’s best friend/mistaken identity romance! It’s basic in it’s plot line but also quite enjoyable. A girl down on her luck (often) and a successful guy who’s parents expect much of him. Overall, an enjoyable romp of a read!
I enjoy Lynn Painter’s young adult titles, so I decided to give this one a shot. It’s a very cute brother’s best friend romance, but Olivia’s immaturity was annoying and I thought it really was a bit of a stretch to believe that someone like Colin would fall for her.
Well I just love me some Lynn Painter’s writing!!! I was so excited to receive this eARC! While this was my top Painter book, it was definitely a great book. I loved the witty banter and texting. The steam was 🔥 and chemistry was so great. Also love a good laugh out loud book!!
Thank you Lynn, Netgalley and Berkley for this eARC in exchange for my honest review. All opinions and words are my own.
Hi dont mind me... I just LOVED this book. I think it was the perfect balance of having tropes that I know and love while also having characters and a storyline that felt unique and fresh to the author. Lynn Painter just has this way of creating characters and worlds that I love and immediately have to binge. I loved Olivia and actually found her to be really relatable as we are similar ages, and I loved Colin (talk about dream book boyfriend) but I loved them even more together. I just think overall this book was fun, it was chaotic and it definitely opened the door wide open for me in terms of needing to read absolutely everything by this author.
Thank you to Netgalley and the published for giving me an advanced copy of this book to read and review.
They seemed like teenagers and not grown adults. I didn't like all the miscommunication, who thinks lying to their boss about having kids is going to end well. Especially in your hometown, where you keep meeting people you know and who went to school with you. It was hard to believe that Olivia just had bad luck when she always made such poor decisions.
Thank you to Netgalley and Berkley for sending me a copy of this book. All opinions are my own!
I wanted to love this book more than I did because I loved the romance aspect and tropes. But one of the other big plot points was something I couldn't get past, and it felt like the MC was constantly doing things that were either incredibly immature or just unrealistic. Her whole plot of getting a job and lying about having kids really put me off. I'm sure people have done crazy things for a job before, but because it's not something I can sympathize with, it made it really hard to relate to her and root for her. It just kind of showcased a lot of her actions as being ridiculous.
I did really enjoy the romance, especially the wrong number portion of it. They were really cute together, and I liked that she kept trying to find a spark with other people and then realizing that he was going to be the only one to do it for her. They were both hilarious and it was a very fun read, I just couldn't get past some of her actions and the miscommunication.
After a string of bad luck, Olivia ends up living with her brother and his best friend, Colin. After receiving a random text from "Mr. Wrong Number" (who is actually Colin), Olivia (Miss Misdial) finds her luck changing...
I liked this, but I just wanted them to talk to each other!
I loved this story and these characters were so much fun. The witty banter, the sibling relationship, the hot chemistry, the flirty text dialogue made this such an entertaining read. I actually listened to the audiobook and Callie Dalton and Andrew Eiden are fantastic as Olivia and Colin. I'm officially a Lynn Painter fan!
This hilarious, steamy romance will be sure to bring a smile to your face! I love Lynn’s writing, and this book was no exception. If you’re looking for a lighthearted, sweet brother’s best friend to lovers romance, pick this one up!
