This one is just delightful! Fantastic banter and tension. Found a new book boyfriend in this one - Colin is dreamy and I loved getting to hear his POV throughout this books. The only thing I wish happened was that Olivia’s family would have believed in her a little more than they did.

Such a delicious romcom!
A perfect blend of a few of my favorite tropes like a bit of enemies to lovers, forced proximity, brother's best friend, and a bit of grumpy sunshine with lots of witty banter and hilarious moments that made me laugh out loud more than once. The heroine was so relatable I could help but cheer for her and the chemistry between them was hot hot hot.

Yes! Yes! Yes!!!! Lynn writes the best romcoms. PERIOD. Her books are filled with witty banter, great dialogue & the perfect amount of steam. I think what she’s best at is her timing. Her characters get together at the right times, they have their conflict at the right times in the story. It’s just perfection.

Pride and Prejudice meets You've Got Mail in this fun and sexy enemies to lovers and forced proximity romance. Olivia is down on her luck and forced to move into her brother's apartment after she literally burned down her own. Little did she know that her brother's roommate is his best friend who she happens to hate, despite how attractive she finds him.

I thought this book was super fun, easy and fast read. I felt a little anxiety about her lying to her new boss, knowing the inevitable fallout was to come but thankfully it wasn't as bad as I was expecting and I was happy to see the resolution in her job. The chemistry between Olivia and Colin was strong and very well done. The book was a little predictable but a joy to read. My biggest complaint was I felt like the ending was weak, and the epilogue was really a let down.

This doesn't quite scratch the "brother's best-friend" itch if that's your trope. Still, I really liked the premise, and the banter was fantastic (with some pretty hilarious texts). However, it doesn't make up for the fact that this book pulls its punches on the steam, with descriptions so vague (when they finally get together), I had to re-read to make sure something actually happened. I'm not asking for salacious, but don't tell me you had "porn star sex" without, you know, a HINT of it. Because of this vagueness, it made it even tougher for me to buy their attraction.

Olivia was a hot mess to the point of being often unlikable, and WE ALL knew it was just a matter of time before her own lies blew up in her face.
I sympathized for Colin's dilemma--how do you 'fess up to an unintended ruse when you're already in so deep? But his particular attempt at a remedy was a contrivance that distracted from the story.
(Contrivances in romance books are kinda tough in general, though, so I'm being just a little too demanding.)

Everybody was feeling this but for me, not quite. Regardless, I'm glad the author has a high average rating on Goodreads and that this book is finding its audience.

I enjoyed the banter between the romantic leads. Some plot points were predictable, but I don't think that should dissuade romance readers at all.

What was the last romance book you loved?
Hi! How are you? Hope you’re doing great, today I’m here to talk about Mr Wrong Number by Lynn Painter, thanks for the free book @prhinternational #partner .
In this book we follow our main character Olivia, her life is a mess: first of all, her boyfriend cheated on her, while she was burning his love letters her apartment was set on fire, so she lost her belongings and now she has to live with his brother and his unpleasant roommate. That night she receives a random text message from a wrong number and they start talking.
I know it doesn’t sound like a promising book but I SWEAR IT’S WORTH IT. I enjoyed this SO much, Olivia was incredible as a main character, she’s not the typical girl that has everything that she wants, Olivia is messy and chaotic, I loved that about her because she seemed SO realistic, I laughed A LOT with everything that happened to her and her way of reacting to certain situations.
The romance was SO GOOD, literally I smiled the whole book and I was SCREAMING in some parts, it just made me so so happy.
I would read this book a hundred times and I wouldn’t get tired, definitely it became one of my favourite romance books and one of my favourite books of this year so far!

This book was really, really good. Like REALLY GOOD.

Olivia is a bit of a mess, or at least that’s the image she projects. After finding out her boyfriend cheated on her then accidentally burning down her apartment, she moves back to her hometown and the apartment her older brother shares with his best friend Colin.

While wallowing in her misfortunes, Olivia receives a flirtatious text from a wrong number that turns into the anonymous friendship she currently needs.

Colin has never looked at Olivia as anything more than his best friend’s annoying little sister, but living with her is opening his eyes to the formidable, attractive woman she’s become. He thinks he can keep his hands to himself until he finds out the mystery woman he’s been low-key sexting with and Olivia are one in the same.

I LOVE the premise of this book. I will always have a special place in my heart for epistolary romances. Plus, this book has some of the best banter I’ve ever read. Like, EVER. The pacing was perfectly done. And I really do love Olivia and Colin together.

My reasoning behind deducting a start from a book I love is that I had a harder time connecting to Colin. Both characters felt immature to me, but that’s okay as long as I can see growth, and I didn’t get enough of it with him. I feel like all the issues of their relationship were not ironed out by the end of the book and I wouldn’t be surprised if they break up in the end. Or better yet, I’d love to see them 5 years from now with a family, suffering from a marriage in crisis and finally working through their issues. I’d read that sequel in a heartbeat!

Overall, this book is great. I would absolutely recommend this book to everyone and I can 100% see myself reading it again.

Mr. Wrong Number and Ms. Misdial. Loved this twist on brother’s best friend/best friend’s sibling trope. With a little enemies to lovers which I always appreciate. Olivia is just a hot mess and I love her for it. She is so passionate, she can’t even help herself sometimes, and I loved that Colin saw through all her crazy to that. I almost wish they had a little secret romance a little longer than they did. The ending I think was my only concern. Things seemed a little drastic to me. Him selling his condo and moving to a new city seemed a little sudden. I know he loved her, but still felt they hadn’t had a long enough relationship for such strong emotions. I did enjoy her running after them and their reunion. I wish we had gotten more time with the siblings to get to know them more!

Olivia is kind of a hot mess, having just accidentally burned down her new apartment in some kind of purging ritual to banish her previous relationship. She's trying to change her luck, but she's jobless, homeless, and single and temporarily crashing with her brother Jack and his very put together, insufferable roommate Colin. When she gets a misdirected "What are you wearing?" sext, she banters back, and over the course of weeks, develops a relationship of sorts with her Mr. Wrong Number... who turns out to be someone she knows (three guesses, first two don't count) and would NEVER date... and when he figures out who his Miss Misdial is, the point of view of the novel changes, and then switches back and forth for the remainder of the book. (Pretty clever!). Colin tries to extricate himself--he really does--but Olivia is funny and charming as compelling to him as to the reader.

All of the things that go wrong are hilarious, but not in a mean, at her expense way--we really feel for her comic misfortunes and route for her life to stabilize, and for her to get all the love she deserves. The text exchanges are clever and well-balanced by the narrative, the pacing is great, and the sexy parts are hot.

This is a great readalike for Christina Lauren fans.

I received an advance reader's review copy of #MrWrongNumber from #NetGalley.

Perfect for hopping on a plane or relaxing on vacation. The story is fun, the characters interesting, and the resolution just right.

This laugh-out-loud flirt read had the perfect amount of witty banter and plenty of heat between the two main characters. I am personally a picky romcom reader. I expect a lot out of the relationships and seek books that are both believable scenarios but also have great chemistry - which is actually hard to find!

Olivia or Liv or Livvie is pure chaos! On the surface you think she is just this clumsy mess, but once you dig deeper you realize she’s really just so full of life and doesn’t take things, or herself, to seriously. Fresh out of a breakup and an impromptu accidental house fire leaves her homeless and crashing in her brothers apartment with his annoying and attractive best friend, Collin. She’s known Collin since they were young but close proximity and an interesting wrong-number mix up have them getting to know each other a bit better.

Collin’s character is blend of confidence, care and stability which is just what Olivia needs. Their chemistry is off the charts and their banter is laugh out loud quality.

I LOVED getting to know Olivia’s family - big fan of the big messy sibling backgrounds.

All in all it’s a great light read with medium steam and good develop!

Thank you Berkeley and NetGalley for the ARC!

I am always WILDY entertained by relationships that are built upon mistaken identity/wrong number texts. This was all that PLUS a best friend's little sister relationship AND a hot mess of a MC. So, yes, most of my catnip in one place. Did not disappoint, and I loved how Colin comes to view Olivia's hot mess-ness in the end.

This was a DNF for me. I love Lynn Painter, her writing and characters but the minute a character tells a lie so huge, it gave me such bad second hand axiety! Maybe ill come back in the future because i was genuinely interested in this one. I just couldnt handle the anxiety i was getting because i knew things would eventually blowup.

Lynn Painter, I will be reading everything you write now! I absolutely loved Mr. Wrong Number, and I sacrificed sleep to read the book because I adored Olivia and Colin so much. This book was funny and steamy, the perfect mix in my opinion. Add this one to your TBR, you will not be disappointed!

One of my favorite things was the dual perspectives. I love when you get the point of view of both characters and I loved that story went back and forth in Olivia and Colin's voices. If you love tropes, this is the book for you! Olivia and Colin are the perfect enemies to lovers with the best banter. You also get tropes of brother's best friend, roommates, and grump and sunshine.

The texts between Mr. Wrong Number and Miss. Misdial had me laughing out loud. I loved that they were able to let their guards down in those texts and be vulnerable. I liked watching the evolution of Colin throughout the book as what you initially perceive as the stuck up friend to then watching him fall in love with Olivia and letting her messiness into his life. I want to be friends with Olivia, life kept finding ways to knock her down, but she never gave up and I loved that about her. Loved the ending of the book, and I loved the sneak peek at Lynn's next book which was like a bonus epilogue.

This is a modern retelling of You've Got Mail! Olivia gets a text from a wrong number and they begin a long lasting conversation.

This will probably be very popular although it wasn't for me. I don't find the crude humor very funny, more annoying and the main character wasn't lovable either.

Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend this one.

Thanks Netgalley for the E ARC in exchange for an honest review. This is out on March 1st!

Mr. Wrong Number was the first one of Lynn Painter’s books that I’ve read, and I didn’t know much about this book before I started reading…but I ended up loving this book and it completely exceeded my expectations! This book was a quick read for me – I found that the plot was relatively fasted paced, and I literally did not want to put this book down, so I ended up finishing the book in only two sittings. Olivia and Colin’s chemistry and witty banter was really entertaining to read, and I found the plot to be very engaging; I wanted to keep on reading to find out what would happen when Olivia inevitably discovered that Colin is Mr. Wrong Number. I also enjoyed the comedic scenes in this book, which mostly consisted of Olivia’s clumsiness and outrageous accident-prone escapades. There wasn’t a lot about this book that I didn’t like. One minor complaint for me was that, even though Colin and Olivia obviously had steamy chemistry together, I never got excited goosebumps or a strong feeling that Colin and Olivia were wholeheartedly perfect for each other.

Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group for providing this ARC.

I absolutely ADORED this book.

This is like You've Got Mail on steroids. I loved Liv and Colin. I loved the path that their relationship took, even if there was problems and issues along the way. I loved how Liv softened Colin's edges and how Colin provided Liv with a safe place to keep her damaged heart. And the banter between the two was so good. I am a big fan of the affectionate ribbing these two engage in, and their chemistry is palpable.

And Poor Liv - bad luck seems to follow her everywhere, and the whole time I read, I was waiting for the next terrible thing to happen to her. But also, she was so likable and endearing that I felt like I needed to protect her. Her family treats her like this massive mistake, that she's no better than a bull in a china shop. But as book goes on, it's hard not to see her in the way that Colin finally does - that's she a human tornado full of energy and life, and because of this zeal she has for living in the moment, there's always a bit of collateral damage.

While there weren't really any surprises plot-wise, I was pleasantly surprised at how effective Painter was at crafting a story that felt unique and different from other's involving the same trope. This was such a delightful read and I want to immediately dive right back in for a re-read.

I love a good "You've Got Mail", enemies to lovers trope. This was funny (a little cringey sometimes) and very steamy. It was a fun read and I enjoyed it a lot!

When I sat down on Saturday afternoon I never expected to finish reading this book by dinner time! I couldn’t put it down! The characters the storyline it was perfect!

Olivia Marshalls life isn’t going as planned to say she is having bad luck would be an understatement! She gets fired and then goes on to accidentally burn her apartment building down, after she starts to burn the love letters her cheating ex-boyfriend wrote to her, I mean that possum came out of no where! Olivia had now moved in with her brother until she can find a new job and makes enough money to get back on her feet. Unfortunately for her, her brother currently lives with his childhood best friend, the one and only arrogant Colin Beck I mean he does have the perfect abs! Olivia had always thought Colin was stuck up and a ladies man, but she still thinks he’s hot. Colin always considered Olivia his friend’s “annoying little sister”. One night, Olivia gets a naughty text message from a random number. She decides to text back and puts the number in her phone as Mr. Wrong Number, when he responds they begin sending flirtatious text messages and a sort of relationship starts even though they have never met . She looks forward to his messages every day while she tries to get her crazy life sorted out. Colin can’t believe it when he realizes that the number he accidentally texted is Olivia or as he named her Miss Misdial in his phone !! I mean this is his best friend’s annoying sister, Olivia!! Not knowing what to do we watch as Colin begins to see Olivia differently and the tension grows. Olivia has no idea that Mr. Wrong Number is Colin, she loves the daily texts. Colin wonders Do they have a chance to make things work or when she finds out will it ruin everything? Wow this book was amazing and the chemistry between Colin and Olivia was everything . I want more!! Five stars!
