I read this story as soon as I got it. I wanted to read it because I had heard so many good things about it. I was impressed that I read it so quickly. From my French-speaking eye, I found the author's writing to be fluid and relatively easy to read for me. Therefore, I could recommend it to other French speakers.
The characters were very endearing and also cute. I really enjoyed following their story and the ending. The ending was great. I would definitely recommend it.
There's alot to like about this story and some stuff that makes you go hmmm. If you can overlook the back story between Molly and her love interest then, you’ll enjoy the book.
It's entertaining for sure, the conversations between the women, antics of the kids and the writing, all are very good. It the kind of book that will definitely have you lol.
I read this book in less than 24 hours, because once I started, I really couldn't stop. I loved Molly, I loved Rachel, and I certainly loved Gavin. He was the 'certified' bad boy, but as always, was just misunderstood. This was such a good romance book, really well written, with just enough spice for us all to look forward to!
I knew from Rachel’s book that Gavin had a lot to make up for because wasn’t that great of a guy in her book, but when I got to this book, he did a complete 180. He has been working on being the best for his sons, helping his ex-wife, and just trying in general to be a better man. I could see from the beginning just how much he has grown and changed so when Molly was still bent out of shape trying to hate him it kind of made me mad at her. Molly is the best friend that has your back no matter if she only gets one side of a story or what, so when she thinks she knows all there is to know about Gavin she starts to realize he isn’t exactly like the guy she spent so much time hating on. I loved that Molly was loyal and the fun friend, but I didn’t like she spent so much time trying to justify her behavior towards Gavin because if Rachel forgave him, she should too. Together these two should not work because of all the animosity that has been spent towards Molly not liking him, yet they do have an attraction because they both can see what truly lies underneath that façade. When these two decide to embark on a fake relationship to benefit each other things really start to heat up and I enjoyed them together. Molly had a lot on her plate, but she never stopped dreaming of more and Gavin wanted to help her see she deserved it all. When feelings come into the equation fake goes to real, but Molly spends so much time behind her walls that she actively tries to push Gavin into another woman’s arms a lot. She can’t see why they fit and that he doesn’t want anyone else, but what can Gavin do to prove she is all he wants? Will Molly finally lower her walls and realize Gavin is meant for her or will she continue to self-sabotage herself? I loved the friend dynamic, I loved Gavin and how much he has grown, I enjoyed Molly but didn’t like her constant self-depreciation, and I absolutely adored the kids. Overall, a cute read with fun banter, awesome elderly couple, and the realization that sometimes others do know what’s better for us than we do.
I love this little series! I read both of them back to back and I can’t get enough. They are funny and adorable and I hope there is more coming soon! Deff a must read if you love romance. Don’t sit on it!

I liked this story but I didn't really connect with the characters all that much nor did I become invested in their story. I liked Gavin and loved watching him redeem himself as the story progressed. I think there was a lot more to him that what made it to the page, but for him to find his HEA regardless. As for Molly, I didn't dislike her but I didn't love her either. I understood where she was coming from, but I found her to be mean and too stubborn for her own good. Thankfully, she mellowed out a bit towards the end, which I appreciated. I did enjoy the humor and some of the romance elements brought to the page along with the cast of secondary characters and what they all added to the story. Through them I got a better sense of who Gavin and Molly were, which was what kept me reading until the end.
Overall, a good entertaining story and an okay read.
I enjoyed this book. HEA was cute and funny. Characters were relatable and likable. The main highlight was supporting female friendships with a good plot. You are rooting for them. This book was so fun I couldn’t put it down and finish in one sitting. This is book 2 in a series of 4 but can be read as a standalone. I am looking forward to reading more from this author.

Molly has a successful youtube chanel where she gives datings tips, but she seems like she can't follow her own advices and she can't go through a first date without setting this said date with someone else.
Her long hatered for her best friend's ex husband started to dissipate when he jumped into the lake in his tuxedo to rescue her son.
This is the second book of the series Mommy Wars. The first book was Molly's best friend Rachel story, I didn't read but I would like to.
I enjoyed reading this one.
The friends-to-lovers and fake-dating tropes are some of my favourites. So i really enjoyed this book.
Amy is a dating coach. Gavin is her friend’s ex.
They have great chemistry.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an arc in exchange for my honest review.

Molly is a single mother to an 8 year old boy and his best friends are the twins of her best friend Rachel and her ex-husband Gavin who has made some questionable decisions in the past, therefore on principle Molly has never liked him. However when Rachel gets married to Gavins brother, things take a change when he dives into a lake to rescue her son when he is trying to be a stuntman.
While Gavin is currently on a voyage of self discovery after his fiancee left him, Molly is a MyTube influencer who gives dating tips online and gets paid with ads and online views.
Molly soon discovers that there is more to Gavin than meets the eye after she spends time with him and actually gives him a chance as a decent person. Gavin admits his faults and that he is trying to be a better person and may still mess up.
Mollys friends are a great support and she has the support and love of her landlady Agnes who has been like a mother to her and a grandmother to her son.
I really enjoyed the journey of this pair and the supporting roles of the friends and family that they have and I am really looking forward to Aprils story.
I love this series by Christina Hovland. She is quickly becoming a favorite author for me. The characters and drama in their lives is so fun to read! I have recommended this to many people

A little to sexy and sultry for my taste: I actually couldn’t finish this one, the main character was irritating and there was little to no actual romance in the story
This is part of a series. I would suggest reading in order to get a feel of the characters fully. This book follows Molly who is best friends with Rachel from the first book. After seeing how her ex, Gavin, is over the years made her see him as one way. But over time things start to change and feelings start to change. This was a great humorous romance with a HEA.

“There’s Something About Molly” follows the story of single mom and dating coach, Molly and her best friend’s ex, Gavin. Molly has always hated Gavin, but she quickly realizes she may have been all wrong about him.
Read if you like:
*a fake dating trope
*a great cast of additional characters
*a reminder that sometimes you need to put your own happiness first
I really enjoyed this book! The dynamic between the main characters was interesting and I found myself really rooting for Molly and Gavin!
This story kind of started out ruff. It took a little bit to wrap my mind around the complicated relationships happening between several of the characters. The first three or four chapters felt a bit rushed like they were trying to fit in all the information a reader would need, so it left the story feeling stiff and we hurried over the wedding and incident at the lake way too fast. After that the story seemed to find its footing and I enjoyed it quite a bit. It had the good time of sneaking hot moments between two adults, the fun shenanigans that happen with eight year old boys and meddling 84 year old women who is like family. This was a cute time with everyday real problems. I did not really feel the romance, it did have a tiny bit of spicy but not overloaded. Overall, I would recommend, especially for those who like romance but not so much the erotic aspects.
I received this advanced ebook, via Netgalley. This review is my own honest opinion
I really liked this book in the beginning but as Molly kept discounting her own happiness, I liked it less. Molly is a relationship guru who does a great job matchmaking everyone but herself. To win a matchmaking contest, she pretends to be in a fake relationship with her best friends ex-husband, Gavin, with her friends blessing, of course. The more time Molly spends with Gavin, the better she likes him but it's hard to break her long-standing habit of hating him. Eventually they get together and their relationship is great except for Molly's insecurity.
Thank you Netgalley for this ARC for an exchange of an honest review.
A good read, its an interesting story.
I don't think I'm the exact target audience for this book, so that might be why I struggled a bit. Still, I found the dynamic between the two main characters very interesting. I mean...how can someone fall in love with their best friend's ex-husband?! Definitely a unique book!
This was the perfect follow up book to Rachel, Out of Office as we not only get to see whats been happening with Rachel but also get to know her bestie Molly a single Mum to Ollie and at Molly's wedding her body betrays her and she starts to have feelings for Gavin! You can totally relate to the struggle Molly goes through not wanting to be attracted to Gavin especially after how things went down with her bestie, however seeing Gavin want to work on being a good Dad as well as working on him as a person was really sweet. You get plenty of laughs not just from Molly and Gavin, the inner monologue, but also their delightful kids because you know kids can't help but be kids, then there is the falling for each other and everything that happens along the way. I loved this book and can not wait for the next in the series!!!!
