I've been on a fake-dating roll these past few weeks.

Having recently just finished another fake dating book, I had high expectations coming into this one. It was a little different - think forbidden(?) romance, arrangement of convenience, enemies to lovers, single mum with a hea top it all off. I genuinely really enjoyed this book and fell in love with the story almost instantly.

For me, I found it really difficult to connect to Molly personally. I'm not a mum, nor a dating coach, and I have a strict no go policy about dating my friend's exes. In saying that however, she had her moments of vulnerability where I truly empathised with her. She has commitment issues, finds a hard time trusting herself to get into another relationship - I truly felt for her and was so incredibly happy for her when she got her well deserved hea.

Gavin was Molly's best friend's ex which usually means he's off limits. He and Molly strike up an arrangement of convenience, so that his mother stops setting him up on dates and so Molly can win a competition. I was skeptical about his character at first but grew to love him in the end as the story progressed - he'd really matured since his last relationship and redeemed himself in my eyes in this book.

Most of all, I loved the dynamic these two had - not just with each other, but also with their group of friends. Understandably, you'd expect there to be some awkwardness between Molly and Rachel but they ended up overcoming that and fostered a beautifully supportive environment between all involved. I loved the banter, the chemistry and just the overall vibe of the book. All in all, a 4/5!

Thanks to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for the ARC!

Christina Hovland makes you laugh out loud in all her books & this is no exception!! This is Molly Princeton (Rachel’s friend) & Gavin Frank’s (Rachel’s ex-husband & brother of Travis) book. Molly is a single mom to Oliver “Ollie” & Gavin is father of twins Kellan and Brady. The three boys are all best friends. The book starts at the wedding of Travis & Rachel when Molly starts to realize Gavin isn’t a bad guy & he’s working on being a better dad and person. They spend more time together after the wedding when Rachel & Travis are on their honeymoon. Then Molly does a radio contest with her landlord Agnes & neighbor Charlie to win money to put towards a car, house down payment & summer school for Ollie. This is when her & Gavin decide to fake date so she has a better chance of winning & it gets Evelyn, Gavin’s mother off his back about dating (the dating app scene in Gavin’s office is hilarious). They start falling for each other, while Gavin is good with pursuing a real relationship, Molly is struggling with it. She feels he wasn’t really meant for her & he’s trying to prove otherwise and that she also deserves happiness. It’s a hilarious, entertaining, honest, heartwarming, heartbreaking book with all the feels!! I received an arc from the author & Netgalley for an honest review.

There’s Something About Molly is a fun, delightful read that really made me smile.

Molly works as dating coach giving advice through her Youtube channel. It’s incredibly ironic seeing Molly fix up her friends when she has such a hard time finding love for herself. As a single mom with a son dying to go to stunt camp, a car on the fritz and a house on the market just outside her budget, Molly enters a matchmaking competition hosted by the local radio station. She quickly realizes, however, that her chances will drastically increase if she is part of couple. Enter Gavin, the man she despises most.

Gavin is the best. My favorite part of this book was definitely the redemption of Gavin in Molly’s eyes. His character’s development really stuck with me. There’s not much I love more than a man who can admit he was wrong. Unfortunately, I had a hard time connecting with Molly. Her constant second guessing of everything and her self deprecating humor made it hard to like her as much as I should. That being said, Gavin brought out the best in her and together they made a great match.

I enjoyed the premise of this book, but it fell a little flat for me. I couldn’t get over Molly’s insecurities and that she was a dating coach that couldn’t seem to coach herself.

On the other hand, I really did like the character of Gavin. I know we are supposed to hate him as he has done Molly’s best friend wrong, but I understood that he was trying to mend his ways and knew he had made mistakes. He came a long way within the story really stepping up as a father and a person.

I would recommend this book as I did like the premise, the writing and characters came together nicely.

I want to thank NetGalley, Christina Hovland and Entangled Publishing, LLC, Entangled: Amara for the e-ARC of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are honest, my own and left voluntarily.

I do love a second chance at love story.

Molly is struggling in her love life. She's been bitten before and is now really shy about getting involved again - something that's impacting on her job as a dating coach! She has a reputation as a matchmaker but just can't seem to match herself.

Gavin is her bestie's ex-hubby. So with girl-code fully in effect, she makes it her mission to hate the man. Which is rather weird because even her bestie doesn't hate him! So much so she invited him to her wedding - to his brother!

There were plenty of sparks off of these two and I really enjoyed the barbs and snappy dialogue. I did feel that Molly stood by the principles of the girl-code a bit too much, obviously as a shield against the feelings she had for Gavin. Gavin was such a great work in progress - he recognised where he had failed before and was making great strides in repairing his relationship with Rachel and being a fun but also engaged dad.

My favourite secondary characters, after the kids obviously, were a certain septuagenarian couple - they were such a hoot! Great read!

***3.5/4 Stars***

Overall, I really enjoyed this book, hence the rounding up. It was funny and fun and filled with quite a few likeable/loveable crazy characters that I want more of, but boy...there were moments that had me yelling at the kindle and having to put it to the side. It definitely gave me all the feels and then some.

Gavin and Molly. I have to say, after all that Gavin did ~ or didn’t do ~ in Rachel, Out of Office, I honestly thought that there was no way he could redeem himself in my eyes...but I was wrong. I ended up loving Gavin. He hasn’t made the best choices in the past, but he has learned from them and is doing all he can to do better. He loves his kids, his family ~ even if his mom and her cat drive him crazy ~ and even his ex wife and her friends. Molly. I had a time with her, but I can say that I liked her. She’s snarky, sassy, loyal to her friends and family and a great mom to Ollie, but she is honestly her own worst enemy.

Their journey to their HEA was a slow and bumpy ride, filled with a few awkward moments here and there, but also with some heart warming ones as well. Once they both got out of their heads and were in the moment they had a flow that worked for me. The bantering was hilarious and they rocked at working together when it came to their boys and the chemistry was hot. The roadblock in their journey wasn’t a surprise, and it did take a bit of interference to get them past it, but I liked how it all turned out for them in the end.

Even though I had issues with Molly, this was, in the end, a fun read. Kellan, Brady and Ollie definitely added a good dose of chaos to mix. Agnes was a hoot and I would mind being friends with her. Catching up with Rachel, Travis, and hanging out with Kaiya, April and Sadie was a lot of fun and Evelyn definitely brought the meddling mom vibe to a whole new level. So, while I wasn’t totally team Molly, this book still had me cracking up and rolling my eyes as I turned the pages to see what would happen next!

I loved the story, and I loved Gavin. Unfortunately, Molly wasn’t a character you’ll like easily. She is irritating. I mean, I get the whole “be selfless” thing, but she overdid it. There came a point where I just want to hit her over the head and tell her to wake up. Other than that, it’s a perfect story. I absolutely loved the second couple, Agnes and Charlie. Both were adorable and their story mixed well with our main characters’ story. I would recommend this story to anyone who enjoys a good romantic comedy and isn’t afraid of the characters who get too much into their own heads and sabotage themselves. If you think you are that reader, then this book is perfect for you. Personally, I love it when authors make me annoyed with their characters because it’s no simple task to accomplish. In that, there’s definitely something about Molly. ;)

Another great book by author Christina Hovland.

I love the hate to friends to more type storylines and this book There’s something about Molly doesn’t disappoint!

Molly, a single mom trying to get her kid into stunt camp, fix the car and also put a down payment on a house does not like her best friends ex-husband.

But when he steps up his game with his two kids, helps her out by pretending to be her boyfriend for a match making competition, lines start to blur and feeling start to go from hate to more…

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this advanced readers copy.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an eARC of this book!

This is a standalone book but also part of a series. While not necessary, it’s be best to start at the beginning of the series.

I really enjoyed Gavin, the hero of this book. He seemed real and easy to relate too. He also seemed to want to improve himself.

However I didn’t like Molly and that made the book drag on and on for me. I thought she was whiny and immature and couldn’t find it credible that she was a dating coach.

Overall 3 stars

There‘s something about Molly by Christina Hovland is the first book I‘ve read by this author.

This story started of very slow for me. Since it is written in third POV I had a though time getting into this story but once I got over the 50% mark the story did pick up for me.

Gavin and Molly are very complex characters. Gavin is Molly‘s best friends exhusband as well a brother in law so if that doesn‘t scream complicated I don‘t know what will. Both Molly and Gavin‘s children were very funny and prominent in the story which I enjoyed alot.

There‘s something about Molly is a single parent, enemies to lovers, second chance at love romance. All tropes I love!
I sadly can only give ths book 3.5⭐️ because I had a very though time getting into it and was close to just leave it because it was that slow for me.

I was pulled into this book from the very beginning and found myself wanting to take my time and savor it.

Molly is a pretty successful Internet personality giving great relationship advice. She has made a career out of this… but you know the saying, “Those who can’t do, teach…” Yeah, that is Molly in a nutshell. She is great at helping others get a happily ever after, but doesn’t even bother to look for it for herself. Even when it comes to her, she comes out swinging against it.

The first book in this series was about Rachel falling in love with her ex’s brother. And in this book, it’s Rachel’s ex, Gavin’s time to shine. Molly and her bestie’s ex have always had a mutual dislike of one another… but it’s at Rachel’s wedding that this begins to change, much to Molly’s dismay.

Now, seeing Gavin as a human being and not the monster she always attributed him to, has got Molly feeling some kind of way. And when the opportunity presents itself that Molly may need a fake boyfriend to help her get ahead in a matchmaking competition she has entered, she asks Gavin.

Trying to avoid his meddling mother setting him up with potential dates, Gavin agrees. And from then on it’s a game of the two of them learning that they don’t dislike one another at all. Instead, they quite enjoy each other. And, this fake relationship gets more and more real by them minute. But Molly being Molly… she tries to sabotage them before they can even get their footing.

Molly made me a little bit crazy during this book. She actively tried to push Gavin away the entire time! And I wanted to shake her. But at the same time, I wanted to hug her and tell her that everything was going to be all right.

I loved this story so much, even through all of my frustrations. After being a little disappointed in the first book, this one ABSOLUTELY hooked me!

The something about Molly is that she’s stubborn and very insecure. I enjoyed Gavin and the extended cast of characters, but Molly was a drag. First impressions about a person and even continuing impressions formed at a distance can change when you get to know them. A sign of maturity is being able to realize that and let go of your preconceived notions. Molly didn’t display that emotional maturity until quite deep into the story.

Her insecurity led her to annoyingly pushing her first dates into other people’s arms over and over again. Then she would feel sorry for herself that things didn’t work out, even though her choices were the reason. She eventually saw the light, but mainly because her friends had to browbeat her into it.

I wish Molly had been more relatable and flexible.

I received a complimentary copy of this book for review.

This was my first time reading a story from Christina Hovland, and I like how she created a world of women doing things that are so pertinent and relatable.

This was a charming romantic comedy about a single mother and her enemies-to-lovers affair — with Gavin. Molly's worries about not being enough and the difficulties of being a single mother were devastating. Her character's journey was beautifully written and well developed. Gavin's plotline was also enjoyable, with him attempting to be a better parent. As a mum myself, Molly was someone I could readily relate to. She is likable and goes out of her way for others, especially her son, Oliver.

I had to read the first book in this series to understand both characters.

This was such a fun and charming read with a great enemies to lovers plot, plenty of humor, and a sweet, slow-building romance. I devoured this book so fast, maybe in 3 or 4 hours, the characters were well developed and the relationship dynamic was so fun to see play out.. Definitely I'll keep reading this author and this series..

I received an advance copy from NetGalley and iam voluntarily leaving a review..

Another Hit for Christina Hovland!

I loved this book! Getting to know Gavin and his side of his relationship with Rachel and the mistakes he made with his kids fleshed out his character and reinforced that he wasn’t a villain, it was mostly lack of communication and miscommunication between him and Rachel. Molly is a single mom whose parents are indifferent and who feels like she is always second choice with men. She has a habit of steering her dates to love with someone else. She has never liked Gavin but because he is her best friend’s ex, she ends up interacting with him and starts to get to know him better and realizes that she may have been a bit harsh in judging him. Gavin and Molly start a fake relationship that turns real, but Molly keeps pushing him away and trying to set him up with one of his ex-girlfriends. Luckily for Molly, Gavin is not having anything to do with that as there is something about Molly that he hasn’t found in his past relationships, love! This book lets us see some old friends from previous books by Hovland and get to watch a beautiful relationship develop and bloom. Wonderful read.

This is a well-written, entertaining, fast paced, humorous, steamy, contemporary romance novel. It has a likable female protagonist, a warm and caring male protagonist, matchmaking, supportive friends, sizzling chemistry, a heart-warming romance, many laugh out loud moments, and a happily ever after ending. The mom quotes at the beginning of each chapter are delightful. I am looking forward to reading Ms. Hovland's next entry in her outstanding "Mommy Wars" series with great anticipation. Each novel in the series can easily be read and enjoyed as a stand alone, but they are even more entertaining when they are read in order.
NetGalley and Entangled Publishing LLC kindly provided me with an ARC of this novel and this is my honest opinion.

Thank you Entangled Publishing for approving me for the ARC of 'There's Something About Molly' in exchange for my honest review.

Single mom Molly Princeton is an online dating guru. Her dating tips don't apply to her though, Why? She ends up setting up all her first dates with someone else! Molly also hates her best friend's ex Gavin or does she?

'There's Something About Molly' was fun to read with interesting characters. Loved the girlfriend dynamics. Molly & Gavin bickering was super cute. It was a bit annoying that Molly had such a low self esteem.

Totally digged the quotes at the start of each chapter. Overall would rate the book ⭐⭐⭐⭐
