A great read!
Molly has been single for years, but when it is convenient for her to have a fake relationship with her friends ex, Gavin, everything between them becomes a bit too real and she realizes she doesn't hate him as much as she thought.
Gavin had sworn off dating after too many disasters and getting hurt too many times. Having Molly in his life will keep his match-making mother off his back for a while. He actually seems to have changed as a person after the mistakes he made in Rachel's book, so you hope that he and Molly get together.
Loved the character of Molly's neighbor Agnes!
There’s Something About Molly is another great standalone addition to the Mommy Wars by Christina Hovland.
Molly has yet to find the right guy, for her. Oh yes, she meets guys, but she always finds a way to introduce them to their perfect match, while on a date with them. And sadly, it is not her. How can this online dating expert be so bad at dating in her own life?? It is going to take a matchmaking contest and a lot of personal growth for Molly to finally see she is worthy of love.
Molly is about to meet her match in Gavin, her best friend Rachel’s ex-husband. Molly has always hated Gavin, but has she been seeing things all wrong? When did Gavin become so "nice?" and boy does he look good in a tux! Gavin and Molly’s lives are completely intertwined due to their boys being such great friends. We have a few great parent teaching moments and lots of togetherness, which leads to Gavin and Molly working together for the good of the combined families.
I love a great enemy to lovers’ story and There’s Something about Molly does not disappoint!
It was very nice to see Molly finally comes to terms with her self sabotaging behavior and give love a chance.
Thank you so much to Net Galley and Entangled Publishing, LLC. for sharing this eARC with me.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Molly Princeton is a single mom and a dating coach who excels at finding the right person for others but not for herself. She's decided that she doesn't need that kind of love in her life to be happy. But when she enters a matchmaking contest she needs a partner. So, she and Gavin, her best friend's ex-husband, decide to fake date. It helps her and it keeps Gavin's mom from trying to set him up. But, the more time they spend together the more things heat up and Molly forgets that she's supposed to hate Gavin. Is the feeling between them real and can Molly learn that she deserves love too?
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and this is my honest, unbiased, and voluntary review. I have really enjoyed this series and this book is no exception. It's well-written with well-rounded characters and wonderful relationships. The book will have you laughing out loud in places and tearing up in others. I loved Molly's progression as she learns to truly believe in herself and know that she is worthy of love. I was drawn into this engaging story from the beginning and kept hooked until the end. I'm very eager for the next book and highly recommend this one as well as the series.
Oh she is so devious writing this story line. Molly is a single mom, and Rachel's best friend. Gavin is Rachel's ex husband and he has decided he needs to find himself before dating again. Throw in a online competition, a fake relationship to help both of them, and you now have some fun! There were so many little bits to this story that will have you laughing out loud, I was in tears laughing at one point. It also made me cry reading about Molly and her struggle with her own issues. Overall I could not put it down, even though I had to because I needed to go to bed, but I laid there forcing, myself not to pick it back up. Definitely read Rachel out of office before this one though!!!

This is my first book by the author, Christina Hovland, and it has brought much surprise for me. Not much that I know parenthood, because I am not a parent yet. But, I find this kind of single parent romance storyline beautiful. The main characters are good. You look at them taking an extra responsibility of being a parent and wanting an adult personal life of their own. You’ll fall for their kids and their story. I devoured on this book for 2 days. It is such an easy-to-read book. It’s a little bit predictable but sometimes a little predictability is not a bad thing.
I devoured this book! I am not normally a huge romance fan. I like romance mixed with danger or fantasy elements. However, the humor kept me absolutely enthralled. I was so sucked into this story. The whole setup was just comical.
Agnes was probably my favorite character though. What a gem that lady was. We could all use an Agnes in our lives.
Moly is a likable character. She struggles with her own self worth and basic confidence but sees it in spades for others. I enjoyed how her character developed throughout the story even though towards the end I was slightly frustrated with how she was responding to Gavin, but luckily she pulled herself together rather quickly.
Gavin’s character was perfectly swoon worthy. How he treated Molly and her son made me sigh a few times. Their interactions had me cracking up at some points. The characters were well developed and the relationship dynamic was so fun to see play out.
I would definitely recommend this title.
