A most interesting book which I would recommend to anyone considering becoming vegan, snd even if not the recipes are suitable for those who would like to cut down on their carbohydrate intake.

I enjoyed this book so much. As someone who struggles to get in protein in a mainstream way (cooking meat freaks me out), the insight in this book to get additional protein from alternative sources was incredibly insightful. I got to pick and choose which recipes I was willing to incorporate into my own diet (and within my allergies). I was inspired to try some new things!
Thanks to the publisher for the eARC!
I love eating plant based meal and I do that all the time while being super easy as well as beginner friendly. I will say that this book did not give off beginner friendly at all. When I think of beginner friendly high protein plant based meals I think of something that is both easy as well as the ingredients that will be used are something that could be easily found in a home.
Many of the recipes are use other recipes in the book so it takes even longer to make a meal and no one has time for that anymore. With me being a new mom all over again and having 2 sick kids. The meals are to time consuming for me to make and I wont be making them.
This was a pretty average book, I feel like you could find better information online in blogs and videos.
I thought this cookbook was a good intro for people who are wanting to incorporate more plant based recipes into their lives. And while there were a few recipes that were a bit to adventurous for my tastes, there were plenty that I would be open to trying.
Extremely helpful, as I'm trying to eat healthier. These recipes are so easy and explained well. I highly recommend this book.
High Protein Plant Based Diet for Beginners is an excellent resource for anyone looking to transition to a plant-based diet. The book is well-organized and accessible, and has a great variety of recipes that cover tons of basics, making it perfect for beginners.
The book has a ton of great information for starting your plant based journey, including shopping lists and instructions for prepping meals. The photos were beautiful and colorful! Overall, "High-Protein Plant-Based Diet for Beginners" is an invaluable guide for anyone new to plant-based eating.
Great recipes! Easy to follow and perfect for those new to the plant-based lifestyle. Love the pictures too.
This book is well-written and helpful.
I have lately been trying to figure out how to meet my protein needs, being a vegetarian its almost a full day chore to meet my numbers. not to mention, it can get boring to drink a protein shake every day!
The recipes were well thought out and offers variety and taste - and i really appreciate that!
A super helpful book! I eat a largely plant based diet and it's been wonderful to be able to try new recipes. I like the variety of options offered.
I loved the ideas that I found in this book to add more protein to our families diet using plant based sources. Excited to add this to my cookbook collection!!
Thank you to Net galley and the publisher for providing me with an e-ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review, All opinions are my own.
I really loved this book. It is basically split into three sections- information/ educational, easy to follow meal plan including shopping lists, and recipes. All three sections were incredibly well organized and digestible (no pun intended). I really appreciated that the meal planning section also included hyperlinks to the specific recipes. I found this to be a really good use of the format (e-book) that I am happy to see used more often. The recipe section of the book also included hyperlinks on each chapters' table of contents and I found that helpful also but not as necessary as the hyperlinks in the meal planning section.
As for the recipes themselves: I really liked how diverse the recipes are without being overly complicated. Each recipe includes a clear list of ingredients and easy to follow instructions as well as nutritional information.
A good collection of recipes including menu plans and shopping lists. I wish that there were more pictures as it is hard for me to envision what food will/should look like.
I really liked High-Protein plants based Diet for Beginners, by Maya A. Howard. The book is perfect for people interested in eating a plant based diet. The recipes are easy and the tips and information about the ingredients are helpful.
While I wouldn't call myself a vegetarian nor vegan, my diet is heavily based on plant-forward nutrients, so when I heard about High-Protein Plant-Based Diet for Beginners, I couldn't wait to read. Well, this book does not disappoint.
This book is very well-organized and straight-forward, and yes, beginner-friendly if you're new to plant-based diet. It gives you a 4-week meal plan with easy instructions and grocery lists - simple and easy recipes, they can be modified the way you want, the emphasis is on high protein, and the end results are great! The only thing is I wish the book had more pictures. The author, Maya A. Howard, did a wonderful job of putting together tasty recipes with great information. This book is a keeper!
Very creative recipes. Lots of ideas on how to get more protein in your diet with out meat. Nice photos. I’m sure I’ll be making some of the recipes.
i am the worst with meal planning or finding things that are healthy and fill me up. i feel like this is the perfect beginner guide to learning how to eat better and live a healthier life with good tasting meals. i cannot wait to follow this 4-week meal plan and i even love that it includes spots to eat leftovers so food does not go to waste. love this!
I think the most beneficial part of this book is the "4 week meal plan designed to teach you how to meet daily protein requirements." In the NetGalley version, this includes links to the recipes. This is an extremely user friendly guide in how to eat healthfully.
Great for a beginner for sure! Ive been vegan 9 years at this point so most this stuff it basic beginner recipes i used similarly when i was first going vegan.
Maya A. Howard and Ariel Warren's "High-Protein Plant-Based Diet for Beginners" offers a comprehensive guide to transitioning to a plant-based lifestyle, focusing on optimal protein sources, quick and easy recipes, and a 4-week meal plan. While the book provides valuable information and recipes for those looking to embrace plant-based eating, it may not fully meet the expectations of all readers.
The book begins by addressing a common concern among beginners to plant-based eating: obtaining sufficient protein from plant sources. Howard and Warren provide a helpful guide on identifying high-protein plant foods and offer tips on combining ingredients for complete protein meals. The inclusion of a 4-week meal plan with accompanying grocery lists and prep instructions adds practicality to the transition process.
However, some aspects of the book may pose challenges for certain readers. The recipes tend to lean towards high-carb options and require specialty ingredients like chia seeds and spirulina, which may not be readily available or affordable for everyone. Additionally, the emphasis on health-focused, "eat-to-live" cuisine may not appeal to those seeking more indulgent or familiar flavors.
While the book offers nutritional information for each recipe and includes some color photos, more visual inspiration may enhance the overall appeal. Furthermore, the extensive information on kitchen utensils and ingredients may be overwhelming for beginners looking for a simpler approach to plant-based cooking.
Overall, "High-Protein Plant-Based Diet for Beginners" serves as a useful resource for individuals interested in adopting a plant-based lifestyle, particularly those seeking health-focused recipes and meal plans. While it may not cater to every dietary preference or budget constraint, it offers a valuable starting point for those looking to explore the benefits of plant-based eating.
