Such a fun read! Loved this one!
Many thanks to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for my ARC.
Sadly I couldn’t get into this one. Did my best, but only made it a third of the way through before giving up. I find I’m very hit and miss with Tilly’s books; I’ve probably finished as many as I’ve given up on. Unfortunately, this one was a miss. It just didn’t hold my attention and I was having to force myself to read.
Very well written book. Really enjoyed this author, would definitely read more by this author and recommend on my book IG
I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide a review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.
Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.
However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x
A fantastic read from Tilly, she can honestly do no wrong! I had a really time with this story and would highly recommend.
I adore Bookouture as a publisher and usually love every book I receive from them. Unfortunately, this one was not my cup of tea at all. I've picked it up and put it down more times than I can count. The premise seemed delightful and right up my alley. Unfortunately the writing style and the story line was just so slow and uninteresting. The descriptions of the wedding and the location were the very best parts of the story! Beyond that, the dialogue wasn't realistic and the romance was so slow and unbelievable. I know this is just my opinion and most will adore this book, unfortunately it just isn't it for me.
⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
I received an advanced copy for free and am leaving this review voluntarily. Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture, and Tilly Tennant. ❤️
Thank you Bookouture and Netgalley for this lovely book. I. was fascinated by surrandings and hooked by different personalities. Those secrets and emotions were something i loved to read about
A good book for a light read!
There were some heartwarming moments in the plot but it wasn't something that held my attention throughout.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC!!
This author painted such beautiful images of the settings for the wedding. The hotel and the snow were made to sound absolutely magical, as was the wedding dress.
The characters were a bit of a mixed bag for me. I really liked Libby's grandma, Willow and Tomas, and the three little bridesmaids, naughty as they were! Sadly though, I didn't really like any of the main characters - Libby just came across as a bit whiny for me, although I did admire how she put her own feelings aside to make her best friend's wedding such a special day.
All in all, a book with a lovely Christmassy setting, but unfortunately, it just didn't give me the festive feeling I was hoping for.
I did enjoy the author's writing style, so will certainly try more of her books in future.
This book was a wild ride. And sadly, not entirely the good kind.
I love a good, bubbly protagnoist all day, every day. I love holiday reads and chaotic weddings. What I really dislike, though, is the repetition and long descriptions of the wedding events. At moments, it felt like I was reading a poorly executed wedding season recap.
This book would've done amazing as a movie. It has the perfect tempo and visuals for a Hallmark movie. Was not a very good bok though.
I am a fan of the slowburn romance (though when you think about it, it took only three days for everything to happen?) and I liked Libby, even though at moments she was drowning in self-pity (and let's be honest, we've all done that) although it was exhausting to read sometimes.
Tilly Tennant writes amazing characters and settings and it pains me that this one was so average. Considering so much of the book happened at the same sitting, it felt slow, at a moo-point. I need more dinamic and not in the way it happens in the book - every time a characther would have a meaningful conversation,, something would interrupt it.
Overall, it was an okay book. Don't think I would recommend it but I still love the author's other works!
This is a voluntary review. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC!
Not really my cup of tea. I wanted to love it, but somehow I was let down, and I eanted to leave it not finished...
I forced myself to finish this book even though the main character was very unlikeable.
It starts promising but then there’s loads of unnecessary detail that leads to nowhere. Lots of character development bits that dead end.
*SPOILERS*
We find out the Libby had a miscarriage and then her fiancée cheats on her. She spends so much of the book complaining about the little bridesmaids at the wedding, that you wonder if she even likes kids and maybe the miscarriage was a blessing in disguise. She would have been a terrible mother!
Also, very unbelievable that she would give a cheater a chance after she had been cheated on.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book. Unfortunately this ne failed to grab my attention an I didn't finish it.
I really enjoyed this book, I read it in about 4 hours, I couldn't out it down. The characters were believable, especially the trio of torment! I found it a cheerful and relaxing read, which is why I have it 5 stars.
This is a new author for me and look forward to reading more of her books.
This was a lovely feel good read that would make a lovely hallmark film. It was such a heartwarming and cosy read but also had some heartbreaking parts within the story this was a tale of love friendship and of what happens when you get to have a chance meeting with someone who could
Change the rest of your life. I would love a sequel to see where Libby and Noah’s lives take them next.
I didn't enjoy this as much as I was hoping too, but it is still a lovely story of love and friendship with a gorgeous festive backdrop. Could have done with a bit more "show" instead of "tell", some of the writing didn't work out for me.
This was a cute book, but it was a bit too light and fluffy for my taste. While I love cute rom-coms, I do prefer ones with more depth to the characters. Still, good for a light read.
A light-hearted Christmas book that was perfect for reading curled up in front of a fire. There were laugh-out-loud moments, but also real emotion as Libby discovers that what she wants in life isn't necessarily what she needs. Great plot twist and turns of this overall charming story. Another great Bookouture book!
Very well written with vivid descriptions that helps the reader see the snow falling and shiver during the snowball fight. The cover, title and synopsis suit the storyline perfectly.
My Best Friend's Wedding is a slow burner and is filled with love, lies, snow, secrets and friendship. I really liked Libby up until the point where she started making excuses and blaming herself for Rufus's disgusting actions.
This book is a sweet rom com which will have you feeling warm and fuzzy inside at times and yet screaming and shouting at certain people at other times. The atmosphere was gorgeous and I loved the setting. It made this book a perfect fire place read and it definitely gave off a festive vibe.
Overall a lovely rom com that is perfect to read curled up in front of the fire.
My Best Friend's Wedding is a simple romcom, but I didn't enjoy the writing of this one as much as other romcoms. I felt that this book was a "tell not show" and i was reading a description of events, instead of following along with a story.
