I’ve read all of RLS’ books to date and really seem to prefer her YA stuff to her adult fiction. This one didn’t work as well for me as The Ex-Talk either. I don’t know if it was the desperate idea of the two to get their bosses back together (what whole adults would do that?) or what. There was some good tension between the two MCs and a few really cute moments, but it was pretty mid overall.

This was an utterly charming contemporary romance read that grabbed my attention right from the start! Having now read two of Rachel Lynn Solomon's romance books, she's firmly earned a place as one of the authors whose books I will always want to read. She's just got a way with writing relatable characters who pop off the page and romances that capture the magic of my nostalgic favorite rom-com movies. I definitely enjoyed this one!

Hmm, I really like Rachel's writing, but I have conflicts with her characters and plot development. Besides that, some of her chapters were very long.

It is difficult for me to express well what I think of this book, I just want to say that I could not connect very well with the main character, Ari, she has stressed me a bit.

However, I don't rule out that the idea of making your bosses fall in love again is fun. I'd like to read a book about Seth and Ari's boss.

This was definitely a darker romance than I was expecting based on the cover and title but I liked it. After reading the book and finding out the main male character is "fat" (as he describes himself) I'm a little annoyed by the fact that the cover cleverly (or purposely) hides his body. In a world where we are constantly bombarded by the 6 pack abs and stick thin models, why can't we have some diverse representation on covers of books?!?!? Regardless, I did enjoy the book even though some parts (and the plot) were a little cheesy for me but at the heart there is a really good story about learning to live with mental health issues.

Did not finish, I couldn't get into this one though I have really loved other books from this author! 3 stars because there's nothing wrong with this book, just not for me.

At first I thought Weather Girl was going to be the same as Set It Up (a cute rom-com on Netflix). However, there are a lot of differences between that movie and this sweet and charming novel. It's my first time reading something by Rachel Lynn Solomon and I am already hungry for more!

This novel has so many great characters and situations. The steamy scenes were super hot too! I like the way Rachel sensitively handled mental health, as well. Plus, Broadway musicals are mentioned a lot. Judaism features strongly throughout the story, which I definitely enjoyed. While there wasn't actually a "villain" in this novel, there were still complications for Ari and those worked against her the same way a villain would. This balanced out well with all the humor and delicious cuteness.

Weather Girl is a wonderful rom-com that is perfect for fans of Jean Meltzer and Meredith Schorr. I'd love to see Rachel team up with both these authors.

Movie casting suggestions:
Ari: Hannah Einbinder
Russell: Emory Cohen
Torrance: Anna Gunn
Seth: Russell Wong
Elodie: Lexy Kolker
Ari's mom: Helen Slater

Dear Rachel Lynn Solomon,

Thank you for writing the books that get me out of my reading slumps. The books that make me swoon, the books that make me feel like there is someone special out there for me. The books that make me feel seen. You are an incredible writer. I will forever read everything you write.

Love,
Me!

The premise was cute and I found Russell to be an adorable love interest. I did feel that it was a bit of a slow burn the chemistry lacked some spark but overall it was a fun love story.

Friends to lovers while plotting to get their bosses back together just like the parent trap was all I needed to fall in love with this book. It was so well written and the sex scenes were STEAMY!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It started out a little slow but once it picked up, it was great. I loved the characters & I couldn't help rooting for them throughout the whole book. While the premise is was predictable, I still loved it. I will definitely continue following the author and will continue purchasing her books for my library.

I enjoyed the Weather Girl by Rachel Lynn Solomon. I like that the author goes beyond the traditional rom-com tropes to feature diverse protagonists. Ari teams up with Russell to get their bosses together but the real chemistry is between Ari and Russell. As they start getting to know more about each other, we find out that Ari is struggling with depression. And Russell is not your typical romance protagonist, he's a fat hero (this is from the author.) I like the way they support each other and fall for each other. Thanks #NetGalley for my early copy.

Weather Girl is a warm, lighthearted, and charming office romance. I love the characters and their chemistry. I wish there was more romantic scenes in this book and a few less about family drama, but overall, I really enjoyed this book. I can’t wait to read more from this author. Thank you to NetGalley + Berkley for my gifted e-copy!

I loved this one! The only thing it was kind of missing for me was Russels perspective then I think it would have been a perfect read.

I loved this book so much, it's hard for me to write a detailed review because I just want to say over and over again that it was amazing and I loved it.

I smiled so much reading this, just as much as The Ex Talk. I think this had such amazing representation of depression and actually delves deep into depression. I was loving Ari and Russell so much and enjoyed watching the slow burn romance form. I smiled, laughed, and cried while reading Weather Girl.

I love seeing fat representation as well with Russell. Although I think we all need a Russell in our lives, he was so sweet and he was my favorite of this book.

I can't wait to read more from RLS because so far they've been 5 star books for me!

I'm ashamed to say I let this sit on my Netgalley shelf for far too long without reading it. This book is so cute and fun, and full of matchmaking goodness. And those spicy scenes 🥵🔥. I loved the body positivity and mental health representation. As somone who has struggled with mental health, I always appreciate when an author approaches it with such tact and understanding.

Rachel Lynn Solomon is amazing and honestly never disappoints! I absolutely loved this adult contemporary romance starring two Jewish characters and including a fat hero. I think this is the first time I've seen a romance novel with a fat male love interest from a major publisher and I'm so glad to see this rep.. The book also includes discussions of mental health and complex family dynamics.

This one will be a hit for anyone who enjoys workplace romances full of schemes and hijinks! I highly recommend it to those who've enjoyed RLS's previous books as well as fans of Rosie Danan.

DNF at 40%

I'm so sad to DNF this a Rachel Lynn Solomon book but I'm just not feeling these characters and I don't really care for the main plot involving bringing their bosses together in a parent-trap type of fashion. I typically love Rachel's words, so it breaks my heart to do this. I might come back to it if my library ever decides to purchase the audiobook.

This copy was kindly provided to me by Netgalley and the publisher for review. All opinions are my own.

I overall enjoyed this book. I liked the representation, the topics covered (depression, plus size hero, even bedroom issues). It was a book not afraid to look at the real things people face.
I will say that at time I found myself skimming, I don't think its because the book was bad or boring- I think its because I a such a mood reader and I just wasn't in the mood for this story at the time.
I am big into rereading (part of the mood reader in me, and I know I will probably pic this back up when I'm more in the mood for it.

A sweet romance with heart, humor and great characters. Solomon's novels are enjoyable reads that are just the right mix of lighthearted and emotionally complex.
