Story takes place during WW2 in NYC. Brings women many more options in their lives than they ever had before up to that time. Working to support the war effort. Deals with romance and great friendship that developed between the woman who were living at this time.

I love reading historical fiction books that are focused on WWII. This was a nice addition to the genre. The focus of friendship between the three ladies as well as those from the men who were serving overseas gave this a little different viewpoint. I have enjoyed reading books that demonstrate the efforts women had to put forth to do their part while the men are fighting for their freedom. I did not feel like the characters were developed well enough that I became very invested in their lives. A little too much going on in the pages to provide a solid storyline.

Historical fiction and romance during WW2, partially told in the format of letters, I loved this story and different perspective of 3 women snd 3 men, each facing the troubles of war on different sides of the ocean

A beautiful historical story. War stories can be difficult for me to read as the realism is so emotional, but this book is all about family and friendships during this time period. Hope is found and this was a great read. Shared with my mom immediately and she enjoyed as well!

Perfect for readers who loved Beantown Girls or any of Jennifer Ryan's books. I am a huge fan of Camille's books and this one might be her best yet, in my opinion. Margaret, Gladys, and Dottie are true friends and they really helped and supported each other during this tale of the homefront during WWII. I was thoroughly engorssed in this story and transported to the girls neighborhood. Everything rang true to me. Well written and well researched.

Three women whose lives were changed by war. A story of these three set in WW!! mainly in the U.S. who were left behind. Their story of friendship gives us an insight into the lives of many women in America that struggled as much as those who went off to war. This was an excellent read and quite interesting to read how the war affected those who remained at home.

I thought this book was so-so. I didn't find the women's experiences realistic and there was too much emphasis on romance. Just okay for me.

Until We Meet is a new historical fiction set during World War II. It follows two groups of friends as they try and survive the war. The first is best friends Gladys, Dottie, and Margaret - three women working in the Navy Yard and knitting socks for the soldiers in their spare time. The second is a group of soldiers John, Tom, and William - they meeting during training and become fast friends. The stories of these characters are very much intertwined and beautifully written.

The first connection between the characters is that John is Margaret's brother and Dottie's fiancé. Both women are worried for John; and when Dottie finds herself pregnant she leans closely on her friends. The second connection comes from the letters that are shared between the soldiers and the women. In particular, the dynamic that forms between Margaret and Tom. They find themselves deeply caring for this person they have never met. The friendship between these individuals is what really pushes the story and allows the war to be viewed through a lens of friendship and survival.

I fell hard for all of these characters. They are each beautifully written and have their own role in the story. I love character driven stories and that is exactly what this is. It is also visually stunning. When I was reading, I felt like I was seeing everything in the moment. From the Navy Yard to the battlegrounds, I felt like I was really there.

Until We Meet does a wonderful job of providing the right amount of historical detail. Everything flows together and the characters stick together through it all. It had its moments of joy and moments of tragedy. It also has interesting characters; and beautifully written scenes from the Navy Yard and the battle field. The battlefield scenes can be a little graphic but also really put the reader there. This historical fiction is definitely one to pick up if you enjoy realistic and character driven stories.

I have often enjoyed DiMaio's books, and while I am not the biggest Historical Fiction reader, I am always drawn to her work. Until We Meet was no exception and I look forward to more from DiMaio in the future.

I love reading about women during WWII. This is a powerful story of female friendship during a tragic time in history. This is also a story of perseverance and growth. All the characters were written with great respect to making them individuals and I enjoyed "meeting" all of them.

I received an advance copy. All thoughts are my own.

I loved, loved, loved the fact that this book focused on woman during the war. I feel like a lot of times in books we only really get the mans point of view. I loved how each woman learned how to cope with the war, find themselves, and do things they have never had to do before. I loved the friendship that these woman formed with each other. Overall, a really good book about finding yourself during a time of war.

Thank you to Netgalley, the publishing house and the author for the opportunity to read a complimentary copy of this book in return for a reiew based upon my honest opinion.

This was a well written and well researched book about two groups of friends during the later part of WWII. Margaret, Dottie and Gladys are working in the naval yard, doing their part for the war effort; Dottie is engaged to Margaret's brother John and had to postpone their wedding due to him being shipped out; but they had slept together before he left and Dottie has discovered that she is pregnant. Margaret and Gladys help her as much as they can to hide it as long as possible to protect her reputation. John, Tom and William become fast friends in training and John shares the packages his family sends with his friends. He asks his sister Margaret to write to William as he has had no mail and this sets off a friendship between William and Margaret.

As we follow the two trios throughout the war, sadly not all of them make it to the end alive. This was a wonderful story full of every emotion, love, sadness, loss, and most of all, hope.

I love the way this author writes, I have not read a book from her that I did not love, including this one. Will anxiously await her next book.

I've read a few of Camille Di Maio's books and enjoyed them all. She has a way of writing that draws you right in. The research she does and the heart she puts into her stories make you feel like you are right there. Whether it's in NY or across the ocean in another country fighting for your life. She does a fantastic job of making you feel things. This book is just that. A feeling book. A bit of laughter and some tears. It's truly a very lovely story. One you need to read.

Three young ladies, Margaret, Gladys and Dottie, will take you through their ups and downs. Their laughter and tears. Their Saturday night "Sock Em Club" where they knit socks for the men serving the country is where they are able to let go of a lot of the fears they have for their loved ones. Each has a story. Each has dreams. But most of all they are there for each other. They are family in the way that truly counts. Always there for each other. You will love each one.

Three young men who are overseas serving their country. Fighting for what is right. Doing what they have to do to make it back. Each has a life back home. Lots of hopes and dreams. Their stories are heartfelt and so real. You will fall in love with them. A story about men's feelings. What a treasure. You will fall in love with each one.

This is a WWII story that leaves you with a good feeling. Even the parts that make you cry are so good. It's just that kind of book. I loved the characters in this story. Each of them. I loved getting to know them. Getting up close and personal in so many ways. I really enjoyed this book.

You need to read this one. You need to have some tissues ready. Read it all and enjoy the lightheartedness and the pain. The laughter too. It's just that good.

Thank you #NetGalley, #CamilleDiMaio, #Forever(GrandCentralPublishing) for this ARC. This is my own true thoughts about this book.

5/5 stars. It's really a good one. Enjoy!

I loved this story of friendship and resilience during the big war. The characters were lovely and I adored them all. Told in multiple perspectives, I loved the sisterhood storyline but I absolutely LOVED the war storyline and the brotherhood the men developed. This was rich in history, the author clearly put in a lot of research and planning. The conclusion was everything I wanted it to be! A great historical fiction featuring a unique story.

A moving look at the lives of three female friends in the New York city area during WWII and how their lives will forever be changed by war. The author pulls you into their triumphs and heartbreaks as they work at the Navy Yard. This book kept me turning page after page. I recommend for any historical fiction reader that enjoys a good story on how important were friendships to the men and women of WWII.
