You know when you read a Lori Foster book, there will be suspense and action. No cliffhangers and sexual tension.
Ok Madison has been attracted to Crosby from the moment they met. Madison and her family work to take down human traffickers and rescue the people there. Madison is their technical wiz and can find just about anyone. Crosby was a cop for years and a couple of years ago rescued a little girl. He adopted her and with the help of a woman, Silver, they are raising Hallie. Crosby left the police force and took a job with Madison’s dad. Someone is after Parrish, Madison’s dad, and they’ll stop at nothing to get their revenge.
Awesome story. A sweet little girl. A family that works to get human trafficking wiped out.

Another great visit with this family. I really enjoyed the wrap up to this series. Fast, with all the siblings and father involved. I’m not sure which story line I enjoyed more…Madison or Parrish. Definitely a must read series for romantic suspense lovers.
The third book in the McKenzie series does not disappoint, in fact, a surprise romance adds heat to this must read. While the book is a part of a series, it is also able to be read as a stand alone. I was lucky enough to be given an arc from the publisher and NetGalley, and this is my honest review.
good continuation of the series. loved these characters and their banter. good action and suspense. this family is incredible and so daring.
I love this series but I think book three in the McKenzies of Ridge Trail may be my favorite. Madison is wicked smart and confident and Crosby is intelligent enough to know how awesome she is and to never let her go. I don't want to spoil the story but Crosby also has a heart of gold and they are a perfect match. The subject matter in this series is dark and gritty but the characters are full of light. I hope the author revisits them because they are rich and satisfying. A not to be missed series and book!
I got the ARC from the author . This is a great addition to the series. Madison and Crosby were a slow burn starting in the previous books. I loved the connection the 2 had and the fact that they talked to each other.I loved that Ms Foster kept the conflict external which is how it should be with 2 people who talk to each other.
I liked the secondary romance too, good ending to the series .
When I think of romantic suspense, I think of books just like this one, that gives all the feels and satisfies every romance junkies' heart. This is a perfect books to snuggle up with on any day. This one took by surprise!
Madison McKenzie has her eyes set on Crosby Albertson. Not to shy about getting what she wants she now has to convince Crosby to take a chance. Letting people into his circle is not what Crosby does but something about Madison draws him in. Parrish McKenzie finally ready to open his heart to Silver which was a nice addition to the story.
This time its personal and the McKenzies along with Crosby needs to protect their own and themselves. Human trafficking is getting worse in this country and people need to be aware and watchful of someone who could be in need. Thank you for bringing this to the forefront.
Just the mention of Detective Crosby Albertson and Addison's heart starts to race, he is the most handsome man she has laid eyes on, but also one she has to be careful around too. They seem to be on the same path, investigating the intertwining cases, but both have secrets they want to keep intact, and getting to close could be dangerous to either of them. Addison is a whiz behind the computer, but can she outsmart the very sexy, and noisy, detective?
As we rejoin the McKenzie family we get a glimpse into their little sister Addison and the detective who manages to get close enough to steal her heart Crosby Albertson. These two met a while ago and have been secretly snooping on one another, and swooning after one another too. They both have secrets to protect, families to keep safe, but hearts that want to be joined... it's a dangerous little union for both of them. As they continue to sift through each other's pasts, investigate their cases, they also start to stir up some serious sparks, sparks that eventually lead them to each other.
This was such a creatively constructed romance, one with many layers, there were back stories that took time to unfold, all while a romance was blooming too.... it was all so captivating! I loved meeting these two, the moments they were together on the page were explosive and wildly entertaining! Their unique personalities shown through on every page, as well as, their undeniable connection. It was a passionate and suspenseful story that should not be missed!! Highly recommend this series, each title is bound to entertain and touch your heart!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
I really enjoyed this series, the McKenzies of Ridge Trail. This is the 3rd book in the series and I've been anxiously awaiting Madison and Crosby's story. The McKenzie's have been raised to be consummate fighters by their father after they lost their mother to human trafficking. They take the law into their own hands doing what the police often can't do and don't regret a minute of it. When Detective Crosby Albertson meets Madison and her family, he's not happy with their vigilante lifestyle. However, his priorities change when he become personally involved with the aftermath of a trafficking situation. Crosby leaves the force and goes to work for the McKenzie patriarch but everyones lives are in danger when past enemies come after them. Highly recommended.
This is a book you don’t want to put down, you have to read all of it. The two main characters are Madison and Crosby. Madison and Crosby have an attraction to each other. Crosby has just retired from the police force and Madison is a computer nerd for her family’s business. They each have trust issues, and have to learn to work out their problems. They eventually do that and realizes they love each other and get married.
Watching Over You (McKenzies of Ridge Trail #3) by Lori Foster
This is the 3rd and final book in the series - it can be read as a standalone - but you should read the first two because they are that good. Lori kept me on the edge of my seat, I had to keep reading to find out what would happen next. I'm sorry that I have reached the end of this series - but I know this is one I will be reading again. Detective Crosby Albertson and Madison McKenzie have crossed paths and both know there is a strong attraction. He is a cop and she and her family are in the business of stopping human traffickers. He leaves the force and is hired by her dad. We catch up with her brothers and their wives, the "butler", her dad and get to know some new people who are very important to this story. There are secrets, danger, sadness, happiness, tears, laughter, some steam, and lots of HEA's.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Scary Great word building Easy-to-read Tragic Tear-jerker Action-packed Steamy Wonderful characters Page-turner Romantic Unpredictable Funny Happily Ever After Entertaining
We finally get Madison’s story in Watching Over You, book three in the McKenzies of Ridge Trail series. As much as I loved her brother’s stories, Madison really intrigued me. She is the only girl in the family whose business is to fight human traffickers. She is fierce, so intelligent and hilarious with her antics. Then when we see the sparks fly between Madison and Detective Crosby Albertson in her brother Reyes' story, I was chomping at the bit to get to her story. I can say the wait was definitely worth it.
Things are a little different from when we are first introduced to Crosby Albertson, he was a detective who had some questions regarding the McKenzie family, but he is now hired on by Parrish to work for them. We learn there are reasons in his personal life that have led to this change and it all melted my heart. Now what is not different is Madison’s fascination and attraction to Crosby and Crosby still trying to distance himself from her. But with him working for the family and each privy to the other’s secrets, and danger surrounding both their families, denying their attraction was no longer a possibility.
Like in many of this author’s books, the suspense kept me glued to the pages. The wonderful family dynamics and the second chance at love for Parrish was an added bonus. Overall, this was a great read and a great conclusion to a wonderful series. We finally get Madison’s story in Watching Over You, book three in the McKenzies of Ridge Trail series. Watching Over You
Lori Foster
December 28, 2021
In the third novel in Foster´s series,The McKenzies of Ridge Trail, we find Madison pining over Crosby Albertson. At the end of part 2, Stronger Than You Know, we find him leaving the police force and her trailing after after him. Her father hires him to lead the family business as Parrish discovers old enemies trailing his activities and family. Fearing he might not survive the pursuit he feels the need to choose the leader of the McKenzie clan without Cade or Reyes coming to grips about the successor. Madison is using her tech skills to plot the whereabouts of one of the worst offenders of trafficking of women and children.
Once again Foster writes a terrific suspense drama. In each book of the series we find one mystery solved with others still out there to decipher. She has an excellent way of pulling us right into the next chapter of the character's latest publication. As Watching Over You will not be published until December 28, 2021 by Harlequin Digital Sales, many of Foster´s readers are awaiting this sequel. I too was among them. I appreciate Harlequin allowing me to read and review via NetGalley. This one is relentless, a must read. Enjoy!
What a treat to finally get Madison and Crosby's story!! I was thrilled with the turn of events-family wise-in this book. I enjoyed all the emotions this book wrought on me. Well placed twists and turns, and my happy ever afters! Another win from Lori Foster.
This is my honest review of my ARC.
The McKenzies continue to surprise me, and I loved Addison and Crosby's story so much! She's been lusting after the detective for a little while, and now, she's decided to up the ante so to say. He's still a bit hesitant, though, because he has some secrets, and people he wants to keep safe no matter the cost...
I loved the family dynamics even more in this installment, especially because we finally get to know the McKenzie clan dad much, much better. Of course, the banter between the brothers and sister is something I'm always there for, and seeing Crosby fit in was just right.
There are some dark themes in these novels, but the McKenzie clan is there to help, and they're not afraid of crossing any lines doing so.
The romance between Addison and Crosby was very well done, and I loved that they both had to work for it in different ways.
In “Watching Over You” (McKenzies of Ridge Trail #3) by Lori Foster we are brought back into the lives of the McKenzie family. This time around it is Madison who comes front and center to finally put her abilities (and not just her intel specialist ones) out in the open. As she squares off with the ever loving now ex-detective Crosby, we see how their mutual interests come full circle back to what they both love to do.
Great read with all the characters from the first book in the series back plus some additional ones that grab your heart. I received an advanced copy of this book, and this is my honest review.
- ARC REVIEW -
When I finished the second book of the series, I was ready to dive into the third one! I loved Maddison so much in the first two books... I could already tell that she was caring, smart and funny! As for Crosby, we didn't know much about him, but he won my heart right away. Both characters were compassionate and deeply loyal to their loved one's, exactly my kind of people!
In this book I got to step inside Maddison’s head, and she didn't disappoint me at all. I found myself laughing out loud while reading the first chapter! Seriously, the first chapter!! That tells you just how good Lori Foster is... she can make you feel anything with her stories. There are enough details to make everything tangible. If a character is about to cry, you can bet that I am too! I always thought that the success of a book could be determined by the range of emotion the author made you feel and this one is on the top of my list.
Lori Foster really surprised me with this book... not with a huge plot twist, but with multiple details and awesome characters. Crosby’s family really touched my heart! I love how I got to get inside Parrish's head as well. I must admit that I didn’t like him until the second book… It took me a long time to understand that character and I felt like getting to know more about him and his thoughts was exactly what I needed. When I put the book down, I was content. I felt like this story had the perfect closure.
Finally, it is no surprise that I strongly recommend this book to any romance lover! It is such a satisfying book with an authentic love story.
Happy Reading xx
The McKenzie family is dedicated to stopping human trafficking, but also to helping the victims find counseling and a new life. In the first two books Cade and Reyes, the older brothers, found the women they couldn’t resist. Now, in the third book, it is Madison’s turn.
Madison is the youngest child, and the only female. She is a genius with technology and surveillance and has also had the same training as her brothers in weapons and hand to hand combat. Still, her father and brothers are very protective of her. And while her brothers met their wives in unexpected ways, Madison has set her sights on the man she wants.
Detective Crosby Albertson keeps running into the McKenzie family and is suspicious of their activities. But he has caught Madison’s attention and after researching him, she is very interested in this man. Maybe more than just interested. And Crosby never had a chance after she set her eyes on him.
I really enjoy the McKenzie family and the way they track the traffickers and their victims. But Madison is amazing. She is so confident, capable, intelligent, she is like a nerdy superhero. I loved watching her stand up to the men in her life, proving she deserves to be treated as an equal.
I received an ARC from the author and NetGalley; this is my honest review.
Wow, really enjoyed this one. I didn’t want it to end. Strong characters and storyline, lots of intrigue and steam.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy from NetGalley.
