3.5 stars rounded up for a good police procedural. This is book 9 in the series and it is the only one in the series that I have read. It probably would have engaged me more if I had read the previous books in the series. The narrator is Brandon Fisher, FBI agent. He is part of the FBI Behavioral Analysis Unit(BAU). But he is not the main focus of the book. The team is on the trail of a serial killer who calls himself "The Leopard." The main character is Supervisory Special Agent Jack Harper, leader of the BAU. My wife has read books 1-7 of this series and enjoys it.
Cons: I found the characters to be flat, especially Brandon. My wife says his character is developed in the previous books.
Pros: The plot moved quite briskly. I read this book in 2 days.
The plot followed the tv show Criminal Minds plot line fairly well. It opened with a gruesome pair of murders and mutilation, and the the team gathers clues around the country to identify and find the killer. I have read that in real life the BAU is strictly a data analysis team which does not travel to murder scenes to help find killers. They build profiles which they send to local police departments dealing with serial killers. This is certainly what happened with the hunt for the "Bike path Rapist killer in Western New York.
Two quotes:
Description of Jack Harper: "To jack, the investigation came first, without any concern to one's schedule. But it was probably because Jack had given up so much for the job--his wife, and he had missed out on his son growing up."
Jack: "Religion was just a means of controlling people. After all, no one man or woman could claim the true path to redemption, yet most of these zealots did that very thing--all the while holding out their hands for a juicy sum of cash."

Oh my God! I was just taken on a wild ride! I had to hold my breath through most of the book. I didn’t want to put it down, but I had to just to soak in what I just read. Join the FBI in their hunt for a cunning killer. Book provided by NetGalley.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for this ARC.
This is my first read by this author and it really hit the mark with me. I enjoy crime based FBI thrillers and this one didn’t disappoint. Not one bit. Although this is the ninth book in a series, I think it can be read on it’s own. There are references to past events and if anything they make me want to go to the first book and read the whole series in order. There wasn’t anything I didn’t like about this book, the characters in the BAU team were likeable and believable. They investigate two murders that have links to unsolved murders 15 years ago. The author’s writing was good, the story flowed really well and was fast paced, and it had lots of action and was full of suspense and was a very thrilling read. It was told through the different characters which I enjoyed. I loved the twists in the plot, and felt that the author brought her characters to life through her writing and I could picture them and the scenes in my mind. The book raced to a final conclusion with all loose ends tied up neatly. If you like crime, FBI based thrillers then this book may be for you.
Another page turner finished in one day! Tracking a sadistic serial killer by rhe FBI is a truely thrilling read. I highly recommend it
The 9th book in the Brandon Fisher series, One More Kill is a gripping thriller. As the BAU is called in to hunt down a serial killer in Arkansas, Supervisory Special Agent Jack Harper will recognize the crime scene. Unfortunately, it will bring back memories of the one that got away when he started with the BAU. Brandon, Jack, and the rest of the team will pursue the killer until he is caught. Unfortunately, the Leopard has other plans. Can they find him before he closes in on this next victim? Carolyn Arnold has brought us another nail-biter with great characters. Though it can be read as a standalone, you get so much out of each of these stories when they are read in order. I am looking forward to reading more of this series.
In a small town in Arkansas, a couple is found brutally murdered. Why? Everyone thought the world of this couple. who would do such a thing? The local sheriff's department asks for help from the FBI's BAU. SSA Jack Harper's team comes to this small town to help out. This killing isn't new for Jack Harper...it is the same as his first case and has been haunting him since then...the one case he hasn't closed. Can he find the killer this time? At what cost to those around him? A very intense story. I enjoyed reading this very much. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book from the publisher.
Wow what a read, diet read from this author and I will definitely be following-
Jack FBI agent chases a serial killer he missed catching over 15years previously with his team. This was a great FBI triller and a seriously messed up serial killer
I was glued to every page and I’m very much looking forward to other books
One More Kill - a review by Rosemary Kenny
FBI Supervisory Special Agent Jack Harper leads his team to investigate the horrendous murders of a seemingly respectable couple in their late forties.
Before long, a link is found to a series of similar killings by a man dubbed the Leopard...five years apart. Why the time-lapse? Why is Jack targeted?
As clues lead to the killer's sickening intentions and he fears for his son, Jack risks his own life, to save Caleb and others.
Will he have to make the ultimate sacrifice?
As Queen of the Suspense Thriller, Carolyn Arnold knows how to play a screeching symphony of terror on the reader's nerve-endings and yet skillfully enmesh them into reading on, despite the anticipated bloodbath of torment that awaits, just out of sight around the next dark corner.
An unputdownable masterpiece that you must not miss, be sure to get your 5-star copy of One More Kill as soon as you possibly can!

I have read a couple of Carolyn's book before, Stolen Daughters was freaking amazing! Loved that book! And that's when I fell in love with Arnold's writing! When I seen a new release coming by her I jumped on it!
One More Kill is such a fast paced, compelling read, I relished every moment!

Good book! This book had a little bit of everything! It had suspense, intrigue, action, and a crazy murderer! it had a lot of gore but It was a very interesting storyline! I highly recommend reading this book! Its well worth reading! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!
What leads a man to hunt people and maim them? Why treat them as a species to be hunt? What delusional mind is able to do that and does not feel any regrets? His crimes are haunting Jack since the beginning of his career with the FBI and now he and his team are running against the clock to discover the culprit and put him behind bars. This is a tense, fast-paced, and full-of-action story that got me hooked from the beginning! It also highlights Jack's interaction with his team, his self-doubt about his own skills, his family relationships. Very good plot and entertaining!
It was a great book that reminded me of the tv show criminal minds. I would like to thank Netgalley.com for letting me review this book
