Abby and Sienna meet by chance showing up at a canceled pilates class. From there the friendship blossoms and both are thrilled when their husbands Greg and Rob meet and get along. During dinner one night after having too many drinks Sienna comes up with an idea to "wife swap" - switching husbands for the night. Nothing is supposed to happen, just for the men and women to sleep apart and with their friend's spouses under the same roof. What happens there is a domino effect of secrets being kept and secrets accidentally spilled. After this night all trust is broken, relationships are affected, and nothing is the same again.

This is my first read from this author and I thought it was good. The beginning grabbed my attention and I was consumed with the story of Abby and Sienna's lives. Things were not as they seemed and circumstances and events kept me guessing what was happening. Overall a good read and I look forward to reading more from this author.

Thank you Netgalley and Canelo for the opportunity to read this book.

Thanks to netgalley for an advanced reader copy. I have really enjoyed this author previously. This book started strong, however, I felt it became repetitive and I kept waiting for something to happen. I was intrigued from the beginning, however by halfway I needed more to happen. I felt it was an average read. Will continue to read this author.

I am a fan of Crofts & typically enjoy her books & writing style. Also if I finish a book I usually give it at least a 2 star rating even if I didn’t like it. But unfortunately I thought multiple times throughout reading that I hated this book. The only reason I finished it was bc of my history reading her books and so I was hoping the book would end in a way to make up for it. The main problem was it was extremely repetitive. Each part gave you 1 more piece of the possible truth, then continued all of the same back & forth. However bc you know the blurb and genre, obviously what you’re reading isn’t the whole truth so it becomes quite boring. This book felt very long for a book under 300 pages. There was little to make you even care about the main characters. Another factor in my dislike is a personal preference so I won’t blame the author at all but I prefer books with a lot of dialog, so the constant narrating/describing books already makes them “slower” for me - so that combined with the plot had me snoozing. Then the twists… well I read too many of these I guess but they were totally boring!
I always feel super bad giving such a harsh review to an author I enjoy but I can’t in good book conscience give this more that a 1 star.

I found this book overlong and rather silly in places.
Abby and Sienna were friends both married I think unhappily.
There was a dinner party the four of them together, and Sienna said they should swop husbands that night just to talk and learn about each other.
Abby learnt more than she would have wanted from Siennas husband Greg, and after that life was never the same for the four of them.
Sorry did not really enjoy this book, I did not like the characters. I

Abby & Rob have just moved to London, and Abby meets Sienna at a gym and strikes up a friendship that will change all of their lives.
Following a dinner party, a drunken decision is made by Abby, Rob, Sienna and her husband Greg to "wife swap" for the night.
This book goes through the relationship of both couples, and this comes under closer scrutiny as Greg goes missing the day after the "wife swap" night. Secrets come out about all of their lives in the hunt for Greg.
Well written book which I throughly enjoyed.

This book was thrilling but wasn't especially my favorite, although I do love other Kathryn Croft books!

A wife swap that goes wrong (for the night) with.... no sex involved? Didn't exactly make any sense, there wasn't really a point to it. The wives were very ditzy in my opinion and I was annoyed with their decision making. Rated 3 stars because the twist at the end was worth it.

Two couples have a dinner party and, for a bit of fun, decide to swap husbands for one night. No, not for anything naughty - the husbands just spend the evening with the other wife. However, something happens between one of the couples, and then one of the husbands goes missing. I can't really say much more than that because at slightly over a quarter of the way through the book, I just got so tired of the way that it was written that I decided not to finish it. I thought it was quite clumsily written, with the author consistently telling the reader what the characters were thinking and feeling rather than showing them. Perhaps I ought to have given it more of a chance to get to the surprising twists in the story, but neither the plot nor the characters were catching my attention.

With thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in return for an honest review.

I think you will enjoy this book if you enjoyed girl on the train as they are both similar vibes. This book uses multiple POVs to switch between Sienna and Abby ( Also Greg and Holly ) as we watch their lives completely change after going through with a husband swap one drunken night. I found the writing style to be nothing out of the ordinary however it was well written. I feel as though the middle of the book took forever to move on where as the end there was about 5 suspects in the space of 100 pages, this is because i feel as though the middle where Sienna is suspicious of Abby drags on and by the time the truth does come out I felt like it wasn’t a surprise as i knew the truth wasn’t what the writer wanted us to believe but i didn’t know the truth so i felt as though i was just waiting to finally be told. However the end was a shock and the final POVs even more of a shock. I am left wondering why some things were kept a secret one of these being the truth Abby has i felt as though there was no reason for her not to tell Sienna ( plot wise ) and in addition to this we learn Holly has secrets that i was left wondering why some of the she couldn’t of told Sienna she knew. Overall i enjoyed this book maybe it was a case of mismatched reader and book as to why i wasn’t thrilled by the book.

I have read most of Kathyrn Croft's books and she is an author that I thoroughly enjoy. I get lost in her writing and love her storylines.

This is another great novel. We meet two couples - Abby and Rob and Sienna and Greg. One evening whilst under the influence of alcohol the couples "swap" partners and Abby and Greg cant undo what they have done.

Unfortunately for Greg, he goes missing and the premise of the novel opens up. I was pretty engrossed in this novel for 2 days and I literally could not put it down. The twists and turns were amazing and the characters, for me, really come to life and you can sympathise with them.

The plot is, I feel, quite unique as I have never read a book quite like this one, which for me is a massive deal as many books can seem quite similar.

Thanks to Kathryn Croft, NetGalley and the publishers for allowing me a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. 4 and a half stars.

This is unique, intriguing and one that I have devoured.

While I loved the premise of this one - a wife swap that goes wrong - it ultimately fell a little flat for me. The characters were a little one-dimensional, and the decisions they made were often outrageous ones, so everything felt a little too ridiculous to be true, and I felt like I could always see one step ahead - I like being surprised by a thriller, and this one didn't do that for me.

Thank you to NetGalley and to the publisher for granting me a free ARC copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

Thanks to #netgalley for the ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review. Over a boozy dinner with your best friend and her husband you decide to go home with each other's husband's for the night. The rules are simple no sleeping together. Not long after one of the husband's goes missing....is it linked to the secrets shared that night during the partner swap?! Another very engaging suspenseful read from Kathyrn Croft, this author just never disappoints me with her plots and twists.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ #kathryncroft #theotherhusband #tea_sipping_bookworm #litsy #amazonkindle #thestorygraph #netgalley #bookqueen #bookstagram #thriller #suspenseful

Firstly a big thank you to the publishers for my copy to review on netgalley.

I read this in one go so safe to say it’s a gripping read!

Unpredictable and very twisty making it a rollercoaster of a thriller. This is fast paced and reels you in straight away .

Who is telling the truth about that night ? Who’s got skeletons in their closet?

Cleverly written and plotted, this is a excellent book. I’ll definitely be reading more from this author.

This 'psychological' suspense — who killed Greg—has a very strange style; it is told in the 3rd person voices of the two main women, Abby and Sienna, in alternative chapters, but the strange part is that it also has an overlying narrative style in that these women tell the reader what they are really thinking all the time; perhaps to make the reader wonder if they are telling themselves the truth (presumably, given most people don't try to deceive themselves so blatantly), or to fool the reader that both women are rather bizarre unreliable witnesses, even to their own thoughts! Turns out this latter hypothesis was not correct and it was just a lazy way for the author not to have to 'show' or allow the reader to work out motivations etc for themselves. The various unlikeable and very shallow characters were all given secrets that of course, might have led to them being the (unlikely) killer. But there was no subtlety, no tying in with the psychology of the characters other than making each character change his/her colours. The psychological underpinnings of the characters and their stories were in no way consistent nor believable. The behaviours and indeed the thoughts of the characters followed no psychological profiles I know about. Indeed the word 'psychological' in relation to this story is a misnomer. A very hard edit might have helped but I'm guessing the author was just pumping this story out. The most amusing/ridiculous aspect of all was that the police hadn't worked out at least where the murder happened within days of the man going missing. Let us hope there are no detectives in real life as incompetent as DC Plod in this novel! If this had been a self-published book by a debut writer it could be forgiven, but a seasoned writer with an editor and a publisher? Obviously if there are readers who enjoy books that so little care has been taken over, then perhaps that is all that matters. But next time, I hope the author takes more time to craft a novel to the standard I imagine she is capable of, given her previous success.

This book is really fast paced, entertaining and keeps you hooked all the way through! I was a little disappointed by the ending as it just didn’t seem to fit properly for me, personally but I can’t say at all that I guessed the ending, and I do enjoy a twisty, unpredictable ending! I think I guessed every single character throughout the whole book!

The characters intrigued me throughout because I just needed to know what they were hiding and what their secrets were!! I kept reading intrigued to find out how it went so wrong and read through the book so quickly!

A book with lots of drama, lots of secrets, lots of lies! And another book by Kathryn Croft that gripped me from the get-go!

Thank you so much to @lovebookstours and @netgalley for the early review copy in exchange for an honest review!

Abbey is new to the area decides to go to a pilates class, it’s here she meets Sienna and little do they realise them meeting will set of a chain of events. Ending with Sienna’s husband Greg disappearance.

the other husband is a psychological thriller which has us wondering what happened to Greg? Has he disappeared, is he dead, has he been Kidnapped or has he simply left his wife? The book is written in a way which is full with conjection, we left with more questions than answers the more you read the book. I think the author has been very clever by writing in such a way because it means that every time we think we know what’s going on we find out it’s something completely different. At times I found it hard to keep up with who was hiding what from whom. Although I did managed to work out what the ending would be due to pure speculation on my end. After every chapter I was left wanting more I didn’t want to put it down I needed to know what was going on and I needed to know quickly I think that is one of the clever things about writing in such a way where everything is almost a cliffhanger it makes it more enticing.

Are leading ladies Abby and Sienna are both very interesting characters. They have a lot of insecurities but also a lot of strength. They also hold their cards to their chest and have a lot of secrets that they are keeping from one another. However it does become clear that over the months they had become friends that maybe it was more a surface level friendship. With one of them searching for their husbands and the other Trying to be a friend at times have me shouting at the book just tell her just tell her mainly because I wanted to know what she knew.

This book is genuinely Full of twisted turns and leave you questioning everybody and everything. That in a way is why what the author does is spectacular. There are other issues that are tackled in this novel alongside disappearance which somehow managed to all tie in together some loosely some tighter.

Would I recommend this book yes. I find it to be an interesting read not only the psychological thriller aspects of it, but the domestic thriller aspects of it as well. I enjoyed both of the characters they seemed very realistic along with these extra characters in the book as well. I suppose the books greatest guift of leaving us with questions also became a little frustrating for me when I was over halfway through the book and still didn’t know what they knew and that in itself does lower the score for me. I rare this book three stars but I still highly recommend it it is very good easy read.

Thank you to netgalley, the publisher and the author for the digital advanced copy of the Other husband.

The Other Husband is another great read by Kathryn Croft. Their twisty psychological thriller follows two couples after a fun twist at the end of a dinner party. Things quickly begin to spiral out of control and one member ends up missing. As they all try to piece together the secrets and lies between them, it quickly seems to be that they all have something to hide.
Great read. Definitely recommend.
