The narrator is a good one, he changes his voice to fit the different characters and he has very nice pacing so that reading is easy to listen to.

The story is easy to follow along with however the first half was slow to start and I think would have been nicer had we seen (heard) more into their problem solving idea. Instead of going straight to the executed idea, I’d like to see more of the how they problem solve.
I did like the book for its eco friendly theme.

Mr. Squirrel Finds a Treasure was really lackluster. Even though I finished this title only 5 minutes ago, I cannot seem to remember anything about this book. This was a great book to kill the time with, but not anything noteworthy.

This book was very cute. I loved the lesson that was taught. I think it is an important lesson for kids to know. I also thought that the narrator had a good voice for children's books. He wasn't monotone and he spoke very clearly.

Great audiobook for children to listen too. On top of it its short. Children these days need everything short and on point so I think biiks like this will help them to get into reading from very young age itself.

I listened to the audiobook of this title with my grandson. We loved reading books but the audiobook also kept his attention on a short car ride.

We have become huge fans of Susan Chapman books. Short, compact and full of environmental messages that I appreciate as a a grandparent.

Mr. Squirrel finds a treasure that is under a rock, stuck. As Grumpy the Iguana and the Green Parrot help, Mr. Squirrel finds the "rock" is trash and enlists help for the park.

The audiobook narrator does a terrific job bringing the characters to life

I listened to this cute audiobook with my 4 year old daughter Avery, she thought the narrator had a funny voice. My kids are obsessed with saving our earth so this being such a focus in this book was a great fit for us.

Thank you Netgalley for my ARC in exchange for my honest oppinion

I listened to this audiobook with my 5 and 7 year old. While the very literal 7 year old was every so slightly put off by the fact that Mr. Squirrel did not, in fact, find a real treasure they both very much enjoyed the story.

It was a cute story that packed a much deeper message on taking care of our planet and our animals by doing the bare minimum of picking up after ourselves. I thought it was a good book to spark a discussion with my kids about different things that can hurt animals and why we always need to clean up after ourselves. We originally listened in the car and used the rest of the time in the car just talking about what we can do to help keep animals and the planet healthy.

Both of my kids say their favorite part was when they made the people stop and both give it 5 stars. They have asked for several re-listens since the first listen a few days back which is a sign of a good children's audiobook in my eyes.

This was a short story with a big message.

Mr. Squirrel has found what he thinks is a treasure -- but his friends parrot and grumpy iguana know that it's plastic and could be harmful.

Sure enough Mr. Squirrel gets into trouble with his new treasure but his friends are there to help. What parrot decides to do to remind humans to be more careful about disposing of plastic is a wonderful idea!

Parrot collects the trash in the park and drops it to spell out "STOP", meaning please stop littering!!

The local press gets involved and soon there are signs that remind park goers about how harmful plastics can be for the environment and for the animals.

A great story reinforcing thinking about and caring for our natural environment and the animals that reside there.

While I liked the audiobook, I think that this book is aimed at young children and they would probably enjoy having the physical book read to them. I was able to view a few pages of the book on another site and the illustrations are bright and colorful and I think little ones would enjoy looking at the photos.

The other option would be to purchase the hard copy and then have the audiobook to listen to along with looking at the pages in the book.

I think the target audience for this book would be 4 to 5 year old youngsters.

I received an audiobook of this children's book from the publisher through NetGalley.

Format: audiobook
Author: Susan Chapman ~ Title: Mr. Squirrel Finds A Treasure ~ Narrator: Trevor Goble
Content: 3.5 stars ~ Narration: 4 stars

Mr. Squirrel Finds A Treasure is my second audiobook in the Grumpy the Iguana and Green Parrot Adventure series. Mr. Squirrel finds a treasure one day. Grumpy and the Green Parrot help him get it from under the rock. It is a short story about environmental concerns.

It’s almost eight minutes long, and it is suitable for preschool children. I expect they will like this. The narration is nice.

Thanks to the author for the ARC and the opportunity to listen to this! All opinions are my own.

Great story of how bad litter is and the animals standing up for Mother Nature! I loved seeing Grumpy again too!

From the description, I thought it would be interesting to see how the story portrays different characters' opinions on what to some is trash, but to others it's treasure. In this case, the squirrel seems to have a little more imagination and is able to demonstrate another way to look at a discarded item. The book went a step further by having the animal friends see that trash was becoming a problem in their environment. It's a story that shows how to take action when something is negatively affecting your environment. Learning how to "speak up" is an important lesson for children. I think this book makes the topic relatable to their understanding through animals and litter. Some of the words may need to be explained depending on the reading level.

For the narration, I enjoyed the narrator's voice, and pace throughout the audiobook

Oh me & my 5 year old adored this book! What a wonderful & simple way to teach the importance of keeping our parks and cities litter free, along with the awareness about the ill effects of plastic.

The narrator does a wonderful job with different voice overs for Mr Squirrel, grumpy iguana and the green parrot.

It was so heartwarming to see how all the animals united to fight for keeping their surroundings free from toxic waste generated by humans.

A beautiful story for small children!

I do love a children’s audiobook which has a narrator that will engage an audience and a story with messages about our world that children can learn from. This audiobook ticks those boxes. A good listen. 5/5 stars.

Thank you, author Susan Chapman, Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), and NetGalley for an audiobook version in exchange for my honest review.

Narrator, Trevor Goble, does a fun and expressive reading of the story, and uses varying tones and speed of speech to easily distinguish each of the characters.

The story involves 3 animal friends who have gotten tired of human trash affecting their lives, so they devise a plan, a good one, and it works!
In my opinion, young children will enjoy this narrator and like the animals’ plan to stop the litter in the park where they live.

This is the third Grumpy Iguana book I have read(listened) too thanks to NetGalley. I understand the author is trying to teach a message to children about littering and honoring Mother Earth. I feel the message might be a little over this ages ability to comprehend, then she has the characters throwing nuts at each other. Not cool! I wouldn’t want children to learn that’s acceptable behavior. Lastly, trying to translate this book to audiobook without the pictures I feel would be hard for a young child and sounds too childish for an older child.

One person's trash is another person's treasure: this is the central theme of Mr Squirrel Finds a Treasure. Grumpy the Iguana and the Green Parrot are back, this time helping Mr Squirrel after he finds himself in a bit of trouble. Promoting the ideas of cleaning up after oneself and recycling, this children's book focuses on the importance of taking care of the environment for both humans and animals.

Mr Squirrel Finds a Treasure is narrated by Trevor Goble, who also voices the first book in the series. He does a good job of communicating the story with children, changing his inflection slightly to give distinct voices to Grumpy the Iguana, Green Parrot, and Mr Squirrel.

The biggest problem that I have with Mr Squirrel Finds a Treasure is the story itself. I like the idea that the animal world could bring the attention of humans regarding littering, but the author does not deliver the story in a meaningful way. Although children might like the fact that the animals can write words and have more wisdom than humans, Mr Squirrel Finds a Treasure is not one that I would recommend to others.

Narrator 5 stars

Story 5 stars
My 5 year old and 2. 5 year old both really enjoyed listening to this series while they were in the bath. Definitely a book I would add to their collection.

Another fun Grumpy the Iguana story. These audiobooks are very cute for kids with a wonderful narrator. In this story, Grumpy and Parrot help Mr. Squirrel on their walk. The discover that the treasure was actually plastic litter which hurts Mr. Squirrel. They have to work together to solve the problem of plastic that is dangerous to the animals.
