Olive Bright's adventures continue in this second installment. She was is a character based on true people who served their country by using pigeons as carriers of information. Before reading these novels, I was unaware as to extent of importance these birds/people had. Kudos to the author for giving solid historical research into these fascinating heroes/heroines (both human and avian). This book had a great mystery and I really like Olive Bright. She is intelligent and brave. This series stands out as an original amidst the plethora of WWII fiction nowadays.
Olive Bright inheriting a loft of racing pigeons is our hero in this novel as she uses these birds as carriers during WWII. Having read the first book in the series, I was just as delighted with the second one. While there are many novels published these days about WWII, I feel this one was outstanding. My thanks to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
