This was a thrilling read, with some heated romance thrown in! The killer was actually someone I never suspected, so that was a great twist! Thoroughly enjoyed!

It's a thriller/suspense book. The case is solved, but the relations of the main characters are not.

This was an okay read.

Main female character hat special reaction always when she is near the main hero.

She is an FBI profiler. She maybe seem strange, but she can see better than you would expect it. Only in the matters of the hearts she is clueless. She fears to love, to be loved and to be emotionally involved.

How the things are moving, this will be a long long story series.

Twists, turns, dysfunctions, and suspense in this new series from talented Ms. Zanetti contains it all. One can only hope many more installments will come with Laurel Snow. For those who enjoyed Eve Duncan Series from Iris Johansen or the FBI series from Catherine Coulter, this new series is for you.

The main character, Laurel Snow, is an FBI agent. She is an amazing profiler and she can be awkward at times. She also has a loving mother who in many ways is the opposite of Laurel. When Laurel's mother sends a frantic message begging for Laurel's help, Laurel finds out much more than she ever expected about her past, her family, and dark secrets.

This story keeps the tension high and there is one blow up after another. Specifically, emotional blows that throw Laurel for a loop. This is more a psychological thriller that sets the tone for this series. It is a dark and grim tone that makes me wonder how Ms. Zanetti can top this 1st book. It almost feels like the closet doors have been thrown open with a police spotlight focused in every nook and cranny. What more shocking reveals can Laurel experience?

I enjoyed the pace of this book and the different subplots running concurrently with the main "who done it" plot. Whilst Laurel is trying to solve the case and defend her uncle, Huck Rivers is a bit of a thorn in her side. Or I guess I should rephrase this as Laurel is a bit of a thorn in HIS side. Both of these characters are multilayered with baggage. Laurel's social interactions are sometimes painful to witness. Her mind is so sharp and she understands why people do what they do. She just can't seem to relate to them. Huck is the quintessential laconic male suffering a hero complex and filled with regret and guilt. These two make an odd couple but it works for them. Their romantic interest is choppy as both of them seem to struggle with intimacy. This is why this book is more thriller/suspense for me than romance. I could honestly do without the romance part.

There are several secondary characters in this book that almost want to steal the limelight. I wonder how it will play out in future books because one of them is similar to the Looney Tunes Tazmanian Devil. Everything within their path is destroyed or tossed aside. They are havoc in human form. I can't decide if I like this secondary character or not. This suspense is recommended to readers who like being kept on their toes.

It's been a long time since I've read a suspense thriller and I really love Rebecca's writing style.
In this newest book we have FBI agent Laurel Snow who is a genius profiler and gets called on to serial killer case in her hometown.
She teams up with Huck, a fish and game wildlife officer to help solve the case!
There are several secondary characters that are final to the plot and it was those charazters that had me guessing until the very end whodunit !

Bravo to Zanetti for writing a gripping tale of murder, intrigue and wrappped into this psychological thriller.

If you read Sandra Brown and Iris Johanssen you will love this book!!

The protagonist has some unusual abilities and characteristics. This FBI agent has to find a serial killer close to her home and family. A nail biter and page turner with some creepy and many exciting moments. I look forward to reading more of her adventures.

Intense and captivating:
I really enjoyed this book and found it interesting and intriguing. I thought the author did a good job of setting up this new series with quirky and interesting characters along with a side thread of mystery which will be carried over to upcoming books. This could still be read as a standalone and it doesn't end on a cliffhanger.
The plot progressed smoothly and at a good pace. There were many twists that I did not see coming and coupled with the easy dialogue, I found it captured and held my attention throughout. That being said, there were a few things that were improbable yet I was able to ignore them and still enjoy what I was reading.
There was a light romantic element that looks like it will be developed upon some more next time and I am eager to see whether Laurel and Huck actually manage to make a go of things.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.

Four and a half
This is another finely crafted thriller from this author who seems unable to write a bad book. This particular story opens up the world of Laurel Snow, child prodigy and now valued profiler with the FBI. Laurel finds herself back home on a hunt for a serial killer when an avalanche releases the bodies of young women. Does their sleepy, rural town really house a killer ? Laurel might not always appear warm and fuzzy herself but her family grounds her. Too bad that not all families are loving but is it possible that even Laurels family have secrets ?
A really sound beginning and I thoroughly enjoyed wading through the red herrings although I had guessed the killer. The characters introduced here added greatly to the mystery and as it ends I have great expectations for what the author dreams up next.
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

I got the ARC of this book from netgalley.I loved this start of the new series. I am usually not a fan of not having a HEA in each book but the mystery and characters from this book were gripping so I was fine with not having a HEA. But Ms Zanetti better not slow burn it for long .
The side characters are interesting and well thought out .I am looking forward to learning more about mom and Kate .

This is a new series by this author featuring FBI Agent Laurel Snow. She is in her hometown tracking a serial killer who has tortured then murdered multiple women. The local law enforcement is territorial and not interested in working with her. The suspense in the book starts from the beginning and doesn’t let up. There are a couple of twists in the story that I didn’t see coming. I look forward to the next book in the series. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

This is a new series from Rebecca Zanetti featuring Laurel Snow. It’s more of a mystery and suspense with a slow burn romance. The characters are bold and well defined. The story never stops moving and it’s action packed. There is definitely heat between Huck and Laurel. I look forward to seeing how their relationship develops. I received an advanced reader copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. However I did enjoy the book so much that I’ve already pre ordered my own personal copy.

OMG the thrill ride! Rebecca Zanetti kick-starts a new series with the perfect wintry read, scorching and chilling in equal measure with its riveting suspense and the sparks flying between the genius FBI profiler and the gruff Fish and Wildlife Captain Huck Rivers.

When Laurel gets a phone call from her frantic mother asking her to help clear her uncle’s name in a murder investigation, Laurel doesn’t hesitate to head to her home town near Seattle. The good news is that getting help from the local authorities won’t be a problem to help her find the serial killer.

But navigating her attraction to the handsome Huck, while trying to understand the strange fascination Dr. Abigail Caine (a witness in the investigation) has with her, while dealing with some family drama isn’t as easy even for a genius.

Rebecca is skilled at writing gripping suspense. You Can Run is a hooking read that kept me on the edge of my seat. Drawing me in with its tale of mystery and the developing attraction between Laurel and Huck.

It’s a tense thriller with a splash of romance unfolding with ominous elements which Zanetti balances with skill, including various points of view that left me no other choice but to flip through the pages, desperate to know who done it while yearning to witness Laurel and Huck’s relationship unfold. They’re two lost souls who work well together as they’re pushed to their limits. I can’t wait to read what comes next for them.

You Can Run is book #1 of the Laurel Snow romantic thriller series by Rebecca Zanetti. It is told from various POV with a resolved ending. Tropes: women sleuths | romantic suspense

Rebecca Zanetti just keeps getting better and better. Every series she writes becomes my new favorite and they are each unique and fascinating. I loved this book. The mystery was creeping and intense. Huck and Laurel have fantastic chemistry and Abigail is definitely giving off psycho vibes.. If I were Laurel, I wouldn't turn my back on the woman. I can't wait for the next book!!!

Romantic thrillers are not a genre I read often, not because I don't like them, but because I find not all authors are able to balance the plot well. This story intertwined both suspense and romance beautifully. This is an author I have not read before.
The setting is in Washington state, the Northern Cascades, in Genesis Valley. There are vivid descriptions of the snow covered, rugged mountains and the frigid temperatures.
FBI agent Laurel Snow is a profiler returning to her hometown. She'll be staying with her quirky mother, Deidre, who reads cards, the moon, stones and is an entrepreneur tea blender. Uncle Carl lives nearby, is a loner with lingering possible brain trauma from a prior accident. He's odd, but harmless, maybe.
More than ten bodies have been discovered on Snowblood Peak, all have blonde hair, all young.
The local sheriff, Upton York, has zeroed in on uncle Carl for questioning. Part of the mountain is federal land, some is not.
Laurel soon sets up a temporary office to assist the local authorities. She has a scant budget and only a reject from the Portland office, FBI Agent Walter Smudgeon, to help out. The Fish and Wildlife in Washington are state officers. There is tension as the sheriff, FBI, and Fish and Wildlife engage in territorial disputes. The law enforcement structure was quite interesting and unique.
Captain Huck Rivers, with Fish and Wildlife, is supposed to be on vacation, instead finds himself embroiled in solving a serial killer case. He's tough, a loner, but kind. He doesn't play well with others but, now has to work with the beautiful, intelligent agent Laurel Snow. They have an attraction, but both have emotional walls, pasts and secrets.
The Genesis Community Church has a large presence in the Valley, owns land and some businesses in a small community. The pastor is interviewed since some of the victims were associated with the church. Laurel and Huck discover the previous pastor has been missing for about a year. Another puzzle piece?
The killer is going to strike again soon and Laurel and Huck are in a race to find out who it is. There are plenty of obvious suspects. The pace was good and the twists kept me guessing till the end. There were several "did not see that coming" revelations. The characters were interesting, some of the action was a bit over the top, but it's fiction and it was entertaining.
The title indicates this the first in a new series. There are no cliffhangers, but I certainly hope there will be a next in the series, I would read it.
Many thanks to Netgalley, Rebecca Zanetti and Kensington Books Zebra for the advance digital copy of "You can Run". These are my personal opinions and thoughts given voluntarily.

This is the start of a fantastic new series. Laurel Snow is a FBI Agent. A super unusual woman who gets into the minds of killers. A child prodigy now a Special Agent like no other.

Captain Huck Rivers doesn’t like people. He just wants to be left alone but Laurel intrigues him. He’s a alpha male protective to the core.

This was one of the best books I’ve read all year. A suspenseful mystery that will keep you guessing until the very end. Just when you think you know what’s going on nope your wrong.

“Do you believe in the Moirai?” Laurel snorted. “The goddesses of fate? No. Neither do you, Dr. Caine.”

Lots of crazy twists and turns. Not a whole lot of romance but that does not take away from this story at all. I for one can’t wait to read more if this series in the future.

This books was a fantastic read, once I got started I could not put it down. The suspense is palpable and the red herrings are plenty. The writing is out of this world and the story itself was really compelling with plenty of twists and turns.
This is the first in a new series so we are introduced to the two main characters of Laurel and Huck. Zanetti manages to balance out her world building with keeping the story on track. For the record I loved both Laurel and Huck and I cannot wait to read the next novel.
At its heart this book is a crime thriller and it excels at that. There is a touch of romance thrown in for good measure but it in no way over shadows the story.
I cannot recommended this book highly enough.

Many thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and the author of You Can Run for the opportunity to read this novel in exchange for an honest review.

THIS REVIEW MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS, SO FAIR WARNING, UPON READING THE REVIEW.
You Can Run is the first book in the latest series by Rebecca Zanetti. This is a brand new series that is quite different than anything that you have seen from this author yet. This is the type of story that is closer to that of J.D. Robb or Amanda Quick, the romance definitely takes a back seat but it’s different in that it definitely has some sexy scenes in it that those books just don’t contain. So I found it just a unique mix of what this author brings to the table. I can tell that this will be a delicious slow-burn romance in the long run throughout the series. I am not sure what the plans are that Rebecca Zanetti actually has for this series but I am definitely on board with it. Thankfully I think I was in the right mood when I picked this one up, so be aware that romance isn’t the primary focus. From other reviews I had read of this one, I had a feeling it would be like this, so mentally I was ready for it. But I do think readers who have read this author will be quite surprised at the lack of focus of the romance. I can tell though that this author is venturing outside her realm and I had a blast seeing her explore it within this book.

You Can Run is a story that starts off with our heroine, Lauren Snow, who is an FBI Agent and has been called back to her hometown when there is a serial killer on the loose and since some of the cases are occurring on government lands, she is called upon to investigate. Laurel hasn’t been the best image for PR of late, and now her boss has ordered her on a mission that she is more than willing to take a chance on. Especially when her uncle is a prime suspect and Laurel is determined to get to the bottom of everything going on. But her partner in crime, the local who will be working with her on the case, is Huck Rivers. The attraction between Huck and Laurel is almost transcendent, but they have a case to solve and young women being killed. They are at odds with each other due to the circumstances, but despite their career differences, there is a chemistry building between them. A relationship between them won’t do any good but a one-night stand isn’t going to be enough to satisfy either of them. As Huck and Laurel explore their feelings, they also embark on an adventure of finding the real murderer and that none of their suspicions will save them in the end….

You Can Run is such a suspenseful read and I had a blast in discovering what this one was all about. I admit that I saw the cover and this author on the cover and I instantly grabbed it up on Netgalley. I didn’t even question it or even glance at the blurb, THAT is how much I have faith in this author. I didn’t doubt that I would enjoy this one and I was correct. Just like with Feehan earlier this year, I took a chance on this romantic mystery/crime thriller and it worked out for me in the end. I am never sure with these types of books that have romance as the backseat how much I will truly enjoy in the end, but somehow they really work for me. Part of it is that I have a soft spot for a well-written mystery and Rebecca Zanetti has such talent in writing it. I NEVER suspected the true killer, she really offered so many unique twists and turns that just flowed so well with other elements of the story. I admit though I NEEDED more with Huck and Laurel because they just worked in so many ways and it should be fun seeing them develop their relationship into something more in future books.

Overall I found You Can Run to be a superb story that captured my attention from the very beginning and wouldn’t let go of my attention until the very end. Zanetti has crafted a powder keg of a thriller that is bound to curl the toes of each of its readers in the most delectable of ways.

A brilliant story that keeps the readers guessing at every turn of the page. Special Agent Laurel Snow is a successful profiler for the FBI. She returns to her hometown to help a family member. People tend to dismiss her because of her gender and her young age. She started college at age eleven, and she earned several degrees. Fish and Wildlife Captain Huck Rivers led a solitary life with his Karelian Bear Dog until a serial killer case involves remains on state and federal land. Laurel and Huck are part of the task force to discover the identity. The list of suspects is long and someone is playing mind games with Laurel. A page-turner that keeps the reader guessing until the very end. A subtle hint of romance adds another dimension to the story. All characters are complex and intriguing. I highly recommend this 5-star read.
