I've loved David Copperfield since I was a child, really loving the television specials where you get to interact with the screen with other magicians as well. I'll never forget the disappearing plane. That was a fascinating moment as a child- seeing magic come to life. I wanted to love this audiobook more than I did. I really found moments to be in depth, but also very superficial. It wasn't until after doing a little Google search that I realized this book came with photos. Essentially, this book reads like a coffee table book. There are a lot of references to historical items from magicians of the past, but read like a catalog of items in a museum. That's great! Except- I want to see them! I received this audiobook from Netgalley, so if there's a PDF that accompanies this audiobook, I didn't have access to it. I found an article in Hollywood Reporter showing some of the items from his collection and was immediately fascinated to try and see these wonderful items with my own eyes. I hope those who purchase the audiobook have access to the collection of photos from the published book, otherwise this will be a letdown for more readers.
