You know a book series has got to be good when there’s a huge following, and fans everywhere excited for the next installment. Game On is the 28th book, yes the 28th book in the Stephanie Plums series, and although I haven’t read them all, the few I’ve read can be read as standalone novels. As I read this series, ( continue to read the one’s I haven’t been able to get to) I can best describe them as ‘comfort reads’ when you need a good mystery.
Easy to read, easy to get into, and smooth flowing. Not super suspenseful, of thriller(y), but more of a cozy catch the bad guy vibe. Overall great novel to pickup over a weekend, or cozy evening!

Janet Evanovich's character Stephanie Plum is one of my all time favorites. But the other characters in the books are just amazing as well. Stephanie Plum is woken up in the middle of the night by the sound of footsteps in her apartment. She finds out the intruder is another apprehension agent Diesel, a good looking man whom Stephanie has had a relationship with in the past. She hasn't seen him in two years. Diesel and Stephanie are on the trail of the same fugitive: Oswald Wednesday, an ruthless international computer hacker. Stephanie and her usual cast of characters work to find Oswald without much success. Losing two cars in the process, Stephanie ultimately succeeds but the journey is what makes the books so great. Loved this book!

This is one of the better Stephanie Plum books of recent years. There is far less focus on her romantic entanglements (although all three of her hot men make an appearance) and far more focus on the case. This book is funny in a way that is true to Stephanie Plum books but it is not outlandish. I will even go so far as to say that we see some character development in some of the side characters. As per usual for this series, it is a fun, funny, fluffy read that is thoroughly enjoyable.

Janet Evanovich is always a must for me and she lives up to all the excitement I had built up for this come out. Stephanie is on edge as she searches for Oswald Wednesday. We see a reoccurrence of Diesel and learn a bit more about what he does for a living. It's interesting to see all three men in Stephanie's life converge in one book again. There was a sneak peak at the end for a new series for Gabriela from Book 27, that's looks pretty interesting. I wondered at the time if we would see more of her and here we are. Lots going on from Evanovich's camp- all very exciting!

As a long time fan of the Stephanie Plum series, I was delightfully surprised by Game On. The story, over all, felts a lot like the earlier books where the focus was on the case and less on Stephanie's life choices. Diesel comes back on the scene in his usual mysterious fashion. While I like the dynamic and a bit of extra he brings to the story, I didn't feel he was any great addition to the plot. I questioned if this isn't a set up for a later book featuring him as well. For fans of Morelli and Ranger, you won't see much of them in this book. We also don't see much of Stephanie questioning her life and what she wants in the future. Over all the book is a solid read full of humor and mystery.

I honestly gave up on this series years ago with at book 14, but I was given this ARC from the publisher and thought why not? I really enjoy all of Evanovich's other series, please write more books for the Moon series, and wanted to see how this series was coming along.
I wasn't too lost, I had read a couple of the spin offs with Diesel so that really helped. This was like coming back to a friend who you had lost touch with. The crazy laughter situations are still there and the couple of surprises really made this book for me. I enjoyed this read, but still will be looking forward to her other series to come.

i am never disappointed by a Stephanie Plum story and Game On held to true to that. I am left laughing at the antics and fun all the men bring into Stephanie’s life. The trouble Stephanie, Lula and grandma get into makes for laugh out loud reading. Another book in this series that continues to make reading fun.

Stephanie is on the trail of a skip who has become violent in his determination to stay out of jail. He is an international hacker on a mission and will do whatever it takes to complete it. This time around she has the help of mysterious Diesel as he is looking for this guy as well. Typical fun and entertaining story. It is easier to enjoy by not expecting anything different.

A fun edition to the long running and long lived Stephanie Plum series. While readers new to the series generally can enter into the narrative at any point (Evanovich does a good job summarizing in all her books), this one might be a little harder for folks to latch on to due to the appearance of Diesel. Diesel has appeared multiple times in Evanovich's books (both this series and another), but his semi-magic skills and the community he represents may lead readers to assume there's much more magic in the series that there really is. This particular story deals with hackers (both good and evil) and the usual gang is all here: Morelli, Bob, Ranger, Lula, Connie, Vinny, Mr. & Mrs. Plum, and of course Grandma Mazur all make an appearance.

I am never disappointed by a Stephanie Plum story and Game On held to true to that. I loved that Diesel was brought back finally. I am left laughing at the antics and fun all the men bring into Stephanie’s life. The trouble Stephanie, Lula and grandma get into makes for laugh out loud reading. I am sure all the people in my gym think I am crazy for laughing all the time while reading . Another book in this series that continues to make reading fun.

Reading Janet Evanovich's latest novel, Game On, is like visiting your home town after being gone for a few years. Everything's different, everything's the same. Your crazy grandmother still carries a gun in her purse, and loves funerals and unmarried guys. Your mom still cooks enough to feed an army, and two drop dead gorgeous guys have the hots for you.
I read Game On courtesy of NetGalley and the book's publisher. Atria Books/Simon & Schuster, in exchange for an objective review. I have never met a Stephanie Plum novel I didn't enjoy, and #28 is no exception. It is a fun read, with enough humor to balance out the engrossing drama that is Stephanie's life.
Plum still works for a bail bondsman, tracing down a mess of truly weird people who have skipped out on their bail. Lulu, who still fancies tight, revealing clothes which she spills out of, overdone makeup and hair as befits her sex symbol status (at least in her mind), is still her weight-challenged partner. Her cars keep getting blown up when she chases bad guys.
Evanovich has created a memorable and treacherous bad guy - a master hacker capable of breaking into tightly secured computer networks to shut them down and take them over. While Stephanie is hunting him down for skipping bail, other forces are after him to try and stop a international scheme to.... (shhhh). I read this book in one sitting and thoroughly enjoyed it.
The novel is fast-paced, populated with some truly captivating supporting characters, and a host of action-packed episodes. What else would expect when Stepahanie Plum and company is around?!

Unfortunately I think this might be my last Stephanie Plum novel for a while. I absolutely love the characters and the antics that everyone gets up to, and that the books are set in Trenton since I’m from NJ myself, but these books are really getting redundant, so it might be time to move on to a different author or series.
There was no flirtation with Ranger, there was no considering anything with Diesel because of Morelli, but Steph and Morelli didn’t even seem to like each other in Game On. Feels like Game Over instead.

Definitely a good read that I enjoyed. I loved the new characters in this book. I do wish that something more exciting would happen to Stephanie. Maybe a trip away from Jersey? Always a series I know I’ll enjoy.

Absolutely WOW! I've always loved the Stephanie Plum series and I love that someone other than Ranger or Morelli saved the day! I always am able to picture the characters and the story because of the detail that she goes into. No matter the crime, there is always so much that Ms. Evanovich is able to put in there, it's never a disappointment.
I will say I do hope in the next book or two we hear wedding bells for Morelli and Stephanie, because bouncing between the two men has been going on for a while now, but who knows..

YES!!! Diesel's Back!!! Well, in name, Diesel is back, although I didn't see the Diesel I was hoping to see. This book just didn't gel for me. It lacked the zip, zing, biting humor and life of almost every other book in this series. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. Ranger doesn't even appear until after the half way point and then he just didn't act Ranger-like. Stephanie is all into Joe in this one and Diesel barely makes her pulse spike. Something is wrong with our girl! Could she be - gasp! growing up???? God, I hope not!
When Diesel, a complex, spooky, sometime visitor to Stephanie, show up in the middle of the night, Stephanie knows something is big is going on. She's right. It turns out that they are both after the same man. Oswald Wednesday is a nasty, black hat hacker who has Diesel's organization pulling out all the stops to find. Stephanie wants him because he's a high value skip and she needs to pay the rent next month. 3 1/2-Stars

I just love this series. Light, fast, entertaining, and Lula. Gotta love that Lula! Received an advance copy. 5 stars.

Stephanie Plum and her crazy life are back with Game On, the twenty-eighth book in the series.
Stephanie is a bail bond enforcement agent with a lot of helpful, and not so helpful, friends and family. Her sidekick is Lula, a former working girl who likes to eat and show off her assets in equal amounts. Stephanie also has a hilarious family, who help Stephanie with food, laundry, and various other favors. Diesel has reentered Stephanie’s life as they work together along with Stephanie’s long time police boyfriend, Morelli, on catching a cagey hacker.
I love that in this book it appears that Stephanie has chosen Morelli in their epic love triangle with Ranger. In fact, the cat-and-mouse chase for the hacker as well as a few side cases take center stage—rather than romance.
I cannot overemphasize how laugh-out-loud funny Game On is. I always use Stephanie Plum books as the yardstick for mysteries that are trying to be zany. And those other books always fall short. There is just no better series to get a bunch of hearty belly laughs. 5 stars!
Thanks to Atria Books and NetGalley for a copy in exchange for my honest review.

Stephanie Plum is back and on the case. This time, she and Diesel, another apprehension agent, are seeking Oswald Wednesday, a computer hacker turned violent murderer. Stephanie and Diesel need to find Oswald before he finds the remaining members of another hacker group and hacks them (but not in a computer sense).
Book 28 in the Stephanie Plum series brings back the regulars - Grandma, Lula, Connie, her parents and of course, Joe and Ranger. This one has a bit less Joe and Ranger and more bond enforcement action, which was fine. One of things I like about this series is that we know most of the characters and it's comforting to slip back into their world and laugh at their hijinks. This is more of what we know and have come to expect from Stephanie Plum.
Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for providing me an advance digital copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is one of my favorite series!!!!!!!!! I just laugh & laugh through the shenanigans Stephanie gets herself into. I cannot recommend this series enough to people. If you love a good hilarious story with charming, busy your gut laughing character then this is the series for you.

These books are always fun and this one is no exception. While Diesel is my least favorite of Stephanie’s leading men, I still had some laughs as I reconnected with the Trenton gang, if you like the Plum series, you’ll like this one.
