Loved reading the fabulous and fantastic story by the phenomenal, best selling author, Janet Evanovich. Stephanie hasn't seen Diesel in two years, and he all of a sudden shows up in her apartment. As it turns out, Diesel is trying to find the same person Stephanie is looking for, Oswald Wednesday, a dangerous and ruthless international computer hacker. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written full of twists and turns, and a must read Stephanie Plum story.
I reviewed a copy of the story through NetGalley.

As a VERY long time fan of Janet Evanovich I am begging the author and Atria books to please not stop writing and publishing Stephanie Plum books! There is such nostalgia in them and as a reader getting to revisit your favorite characters time and time again is just such a good feeling!

Right away we are laughing with Stephanie and Lula's nonsense and also get the sizzling chemistry between Stephanie and all her men! Grandma is always a hoot!

The only thing I ask is MORE!!!!

Game On by Janet Evanovich is the very highly recommended and hilarious 28th book in the Stephanie Plum series.

Stephanie Plum, bail bond enforcement agent for her Uncle Vinnie, has fellow apprehension agent Diesel drop in on her in the middle of the night. It seems that they are both searching for the same fugitive: Oswald Wednesday, a likely insane international computer hacker. While long time boyfriend and Police investigator Joe Morelli might not be thrilled the two are working together, Diesel has connections that can only help Stephanie. The main case leads them to a hacker group. Stephanie and Lulu have some other people to find too. To complicate matters, Lulu is having a crisis since her hair stylist left and everyday seems like a bad hair day. Grandma is still full of her own brand of wisdom and Stephanie's mom starts a new addiction.

After some disappointing reads, I needed a madcap, comical, and lively novel. Game On was a perfect diversion and provided the novel I craved. Yes, it is a little crazy. There are murders, cars destroyed and plenty of threatening actions, but it is also witty, entertaining and satisfying. The plot moves at a fast pace which makes this enjoyable and engaging diversion that will hold your attention.

The characters are known to many, but Evanovich provides enough background information that new readers won't feel left out. Although this is the 28th book in the series I think if would be easy for someone new to the series to jump into it with Game On. I have not read even close to every Stephanie Plum book and I enjoyed this one immensely. It was funny and entertaining along with plenty of action and potential danger.

The review will be published on Barnes & Noble, Google Books, and Amazon.

An insane computer mastermind, a kind of Dr Evil, is killing hackers in Trenton, NJ, and several people are in pursuit, including Stephanie, Lula, Diesel, Morelli and Ranger. Can they find him before more people are killed and he is able to launch a plot with international repercussions?

As usual with this long-running mystery series, thrills and danger are mixed with hilarious situations and eccentric characters to make for a very fun, page-turning read. If you need a lift and a few laughs, I can highly recommend it. Yes, it's trademark Stephanie Plum all the way, but it's one of the best.

I received an arc of this new book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. Many thanks for the opportunity.

I’ve been reading the Stephanie Plum books for years, but they have become repetitious. Stephanie’s and Lula again chase a bad guy, chase food and get into trouble.

However, these books are fun to read and that is undeniable.

Thank you Netgalley for this ARC and a fun evening of reading.

Game on by: Janet Evanovich
Thanks to Simon & Schuster and NetGalley for the ARC of this book. I voluntarily read and reviewed this advance reader copy of this book all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Stephanie Plum returns for #28 and all the usually cast of characters are all there with her. Very early Stephanie is awoke by Diesel’s return to Trenton by breaking in to her apartment looking for a place to crash. He’s back in town chasing Oswald Wednesday a computer hacker who is wanted in connection to several ransomware attacks. Stephanie is also after him cause he skipped his court appearance. By the time Morelli, Stephanie’s long time cop boyfriend get up to speed he finds out Oswald has expanded his talents to murder. Sadly Ranger doesn’t appear until more than halfway thru the book and plays a very minor part. (He’s my favorite) Will the group be able to catch Oswald before he kills again? Check out Game on: Tempting 28 by Janet Evanovich on Sale 11/2/2021.

I can always count on Janet Evanovich to make me laugh, and to write a fast.paced novel. This one did not disappoint!!

Stephanie Plum, bone enforcement agent, is on the hunt for Oswald Wednesday. Oswald is a hacker and a good one. This time he has something BIG planned but another group of local hackers have gotten into his way. Diesel (yes, that Diesel) is back and he is looking for Wednesday too! What follows is nothing short of mayhem, especially when you have Stephanie and Lulu on the hunt for a fugitive. 4⭐

Thank you to Netgalley, Atria Books and Janet Evanovich for the eARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. I loved it!!

Stephanie Plum is at it again! Only this time, Diesel is back. They are both after the same person Oswald Wednesday. He is a hacker with an evil streak. Diesel will not give Stephanie the full details of why he's trying to find him. But with his help she may be able to pay her rent on time with his recovery check.

As Stephanie, Diesel and Lula track Oswald, they meet member of the hacking grouping Baked Potatoes. When the members are mysteriously dying, Stephanie takes one of the members to her parents house. Grandma Mazur volunteers to babysit and chaos ensues.

I really liked this Stephanie Plum! It was hilarious and fast paced. Less romance than normal, but still good! I was worried the story would be repetitive (given that it is number 28) but it isn't! The comedy is still good and you have many movements of "oh no.. Yup she said (or did) that."

If you love whodunit, comedy types of books, pick this one up!

Yes, the Stephanie Plum stories are silly, but I so look forward to each new one that comes out….and I’ve read all 28 of them. Who cares about the plot when you have such colorful characters that fill each Stephanie Plum novel? As a former Jersey Girl, the Jersey setting/jokes/lifestyle really resonate with me.

I’ve tried some of Evanovich’s other books, but they just don’t have the same pizazz as this series…maybe it is the Jersey Girl thing…….

3.5 rounded up

You know exactly what you are getting when you crack open a Stephanie Plum novel and this one doesn't disappoint. For a couple of books the plot lines and characters got a little "wacky" but now they're back to what you expect. Exactly what you expect. In a series this long you would think there would be some meta-plot development of characters, but no, everyone has their description and doesn't venture from it.

The only difference in this novel is that the characters and silliness seemed muted compared to the recent novels in this series.

Fans of the series will love it. Many of us will be tired of the repeating, but I still picked it up and read it cover to cover, so that's telling.

Game On: Tempting Twenty-Eight by Janet Evanovich is the new book in the Stephanie Plum series. Fellow apprehension agent Diesel pursues Oswald Wednesday, an infamous hacker who likes to brutalize his enemies. Stephanie wants Oswald because he jumped bail, and Diesel works for a client who suffered a major hacking incident. I have read all the books in the Stephanie Plum series, and they are always entertaining. I would highly recommend this book.

I enjoyed this. I didn't like book 27 much, but Janet redeemed herself in my eyes with this one. Hijinks, mayhem, explosions and Diesel! A fun ride!

Fellow apprehension agent, Diesel, returns. Stephanie Plum is awakened in the middle of the night to find him in her apartment. Both are trying to apprehend Oswald Wednesday, an international computer hacker. The twists and turns are very enjoyable in this tome. Not much Morelli or Ranger. The right amount of Grandma Mazur and Lulu. This is a wonderful edition to the series. Thanks #NetGalley!

The Stephanie Plum book series is like a warm, cozy blanket that I like to curl up with when I've had a bad day. Every read I know exactly what I'm getting: hijinks, calamity, and an achingly annoying love triangle that I absolutely cannot quit. While Diesel was a nice addition to the book, this was cut from the same cloth as the other books in the series. It was familiar but different, if only slightly, and each page gave me exactly what I wanted from the characters.

There was a switch in this book that I did appreciate, but mostly, I come back for the characters and the author seems to understand that point. Some of my favorite moments involved new side characters and Lulu'a bad juju. Although some of the plot was hum drum, I don't think it's possible for me to ever stop reading this series. We've been through too much together. I love everyone far too much and I'm not ready to say goodbye, despite the Morelli/Ranger drama. Who would feed Rex or help Grandma learn hacking?

This is a solid book in the series, but not as good as the last installment. A wonderful book to pick up if you miss the people in it.

Diesel is back and he and Stephanie are looking for the same criminal. If you haven’t already met Diesel in previous books (and even from his own series a while back), here is how Stephanie describes him. “Diesel is over six feet of hard muscle and bad attitude…” Diesel has some talents that are very hard to explain and works for an organization that is even harder to pin down. He just appears in Stephanie’s apartment in the middle of the night, and he wants to stay with her. OOPS – how will her long-term boyfriend Joe Morelli feel about that?

Stephanie and Lula go about their business as Bail Enforcement Agents working for Stephanie’s cousin Vinnie. Some people are just easier to track down than others – and some are easier to apprehend than others – and some just steal your heart when you hear their stories. One of their FTAs (Failure To Appear) is Melvin Schwartz who was arrested because he hacked into the evening news and replaced the broadcast with a porno film. As one of seven members of the hacker group known as Baked Potato, Melvin is in more trouble than he knows because his group hacked into the ultimate, primo, hacker’s servers and now he’s after them. What started out as a lark for the Baked Potatoes, turns deadly and will cost all of them their lives if Stephanie, Diesel, Morelli, Lula, and Ranger can’t stop the revenge of Oswald Wednesday who did not appreciate being hacked.

Oswald is a psychopath who loves pain and torture, so when he manages to identify the Baked Potatoes, he takes great delight in torturing them prior to killing them. Oswald is very rich, very shrewd, very sly, and has all the skills and tools he needs to identify, track down, and dispose of each of the people responsible for hacking his servers. Soon, Stephanie is in his cross-hairs as well because she has dared to cross him and hide the people for whom he is looking.

As always, the story is entertaining, witty, and very well written. I absolutely adore all of the supporting characters – especially Lula and Stephanie’s mother. I believe I’d like to move to the Berg after hearing Stephanie’s description. “While many parts of the country are struggling with changing ideologies, the Burg continues to march to the beat of its own drum, thumbing its nose at political correctness.”

I can definitely recommend this book because it provided several hours of smiles and breath-holding entertainment for me – and I hope it will for you as well. Happy Reading!

Still smiling!

If you've never read a Stephanie Plum novel you could read this as a stand alone. The author give just enough background to help understand a character's relationship to Stephanie but not enough to bog down the story for those who've been following Stephanie since 1999. (I found her in 2002.)

Diesel helps himself to Stephanie's apartment when he arrives on the hunt for Oswald Wednesday, international hacker. Problem is; it's a one bedroom apartment, and she's looking for the same man who failed to appear at a court date, leaving Vinnie out the bail bond money he put up.

A quick read from master story teller, Janet Evanovich. Bravo!

I volunteered to read an ARC from Atria Books (Simon & Schuster) through Net Galley.'

I absolutely love the Stephanie Plum series and have read every book so far and was so so excited to get a copy of Game On(#28) early! The last few in the series kinda fell flat for me but this one felt more like the books at the beginning of the series. I enjoyed the return of old characters and the fresh plot lines in this story. As always it was a quick, fun and light read. The only thing that could have made it better is more Ranger! ;)

Thank you to NetGalley and Atria books for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Stephanie Plum works for a bail bond agent - her job is to bring FTAs (failure to appear) back to the court to protect her employer’s “investment.” One night she wakes up to the sound of footsteps in her apartment, the intruder being Diesel, another apprehension agent (who apparently has appeared in earlier books in the series). As it turns out, they are both after the same fugitive, one Oswald Wednesday, a brilliant but ruthless computer hacker. When dead bodies begin showing up, Stephanie must work with Diesel (as well her boyfriend and cop, Joe Morelli, and Ranger, the “stud” head of a security company) to stop whatever Wednesday is planning. Moving in and out of the neighborhoods of Trenton, NJ, assisted by Lula (the ex-prostitute) and a couple of other computer hackers, the criminal is most elusive. Stephanie Plum is a bumbling protagonist but manages to “win” through perserverance, luck, and some very competent friends. And the friends keep coming back book after book keeping a smile on your face. Another author who will not win any awards for literature, but whose series are fun (and quick) to read. This is a good addition to the series, and I don’t think you have to have read them all in order to enjoy. My thanks to Atria Books and NetGalley for the ARC of this book that will hit bookstores on November 2, 2021.

November brings a lot of great things each year: Thanksgiving, cooler weather, the anticipation of Christmas, and the newest Stephanie Plum book by Janet Evanovich. Game On does not disappoint. Like slipping under your favorite blanket by the warm fire on a cold day with a hot cup of coffee in hand, you fall back into Trenton, the Burg, and the richness of the characters, including my personal favorites Lula and Grandma Mazur.

In the latest novel, Stephanie is awakened in the middle of the night by returning character Diesel. Diesel is searching for the elusive Oswald Wednesday (O.W.) for his employer and lo and behold, he is also an FTA that Stephanie must bring in to appease Cousin Vinnie. With murders involving tongue mutilation, retribution, and a near death on the train tracks, the latest by Evanonvich is exactly what you would expect from her Stephanie Plum series. Will she catch the killer? Will her car survive the book? Will she finally choose between Morelli and Ranger? Will Grandma cause a scene at the funeral home?

I will admit that the last Plum book wasn’t my favorite. It took me awhile to complete. This one rejuvenated my love for this series. I was so caught up in it, when a Ranger finally appears halfway through, I had not noticed it was his first appearance. I know, right?! If you haven’t read any of the Stephanie Plum books, do yourself a favor and start. They are escape reads that will make you laugh and fall in love with the characters. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Game On - Tempting Twenty Eight by Janet Evanovich is the newest Stephanie Plum book.

"Stephanie wakes up in her apartment to find Diesel skulking around. He's after Oswald Wednesday, a genius hacker. Stephanie is also after Wednesday - but only because he missed his court date for B & E. Oswald turns out to be psychotic and Stephanie will need all of her luck and wits to keep her family and friends safe."

Evanovich gives us more of her wild menagerie of characters. Diesel and his cousin Wulfe - Camden, the professional mooner and the former Prom Queen who shoots up the bakery because she needs an chocolate eclair. And the group of hackers known as the Baked Potatoes.

Another great, entertaining addition to the series from Janet Evanovich
