A great read in the series. The laughs and crimes are interesting as always. I’m enjoy all the characters and relationships. While not realistic still love it
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for this arc

Stephanie Plum is at it again, her usual blowing up cars and running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Unfortunately she's encountered a computer hacker that doesn't take kindly to her or any of her shenanigans. Luckily she has plenty of men around to help her, perhaps too many? Diesel joins the hunt with a brief appearance of the illustrious Wulf. Grandma Mazer and the whole family gets involved. Can Stephanie catch the hacker before he hacks her instead?

Delightful! This one reminded me of the earlier books - I enjoyed it much more than the previous 8 or so. I really love the nerdy characters that were introduced.
Thanks to NetGalley for a free ARC in exchange for an honest review.

As a long time fan of Stephanie Plum I was thrilled to be able to read Game On. As per normal Stephanie fashion, any attempts to apprehend a suspect end in hilarious fashion and at least one or two exploding cars. I always love when Diesel shows up to break the tie between team Morelli and team Ranger. I am still team Ranger all the way but Diesel has a very significant role in this specific book. Tied up neatly with a bow, life in the berg is back to somewhat normal at the end. Looking forward to the next book as always and a new series by the author.
Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for allowing me to read and review this book. All opinions are my own.

In true Janet Evanovich fashion, Stephanie Plum's life as a bounty hunter combines drama, action, and the typical mishaps that characterize her career. Add her boyfriend, Italian cop Joe Morello, and mysterious security expert, Ranger, into the mix and things get really hot. When Diesel shows up to work on the same cybercrime case, juggling the attention of the three while trying to keep the few hackers she has left alive becomes a full time job. While part of a series, Game On, can stand fully on its own. It won't disappoint.

Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Stephanie is awakend by Diesel one morning. Apparently they are both trying to apprehend the same cyber criminal. It will take every trick in the book to capture this criminal. This book captured my attention from the start.

I never get tired of Stephanie Plum and her cohorts! I've read every one and although some are better than others they all entertain and delight me. Keep them coming, please!

Not vintage Plum, but getting closer. Stephanie is not having any luck catching her latest FTA. Fortunately, Diesel arrives, also hunting Oscar. Stephanie and Lula are managing to make progress but not without some blunders. Well worth reading

Stephanie Plum and her situation is brand new to me. I didn’t feel lost even though this was book 28. I realized there was going to be a lot of history with this character I would not know because I was just reading the newest novel. All in all, Stephanie is a likeable gal, I instantly cared about. I enjoyed getting to know her and the cast of colorful characters, some friends, some co-workers, oh and let’s not forget the boyfriend.
Main character Stephanie Plum is a bail bonds enforcement agent. She convinced her cousin Vinnie into hiring her and has been doing this ever since. My interest was piqued from the start as Stephanie is in her apartment scared…”I was listening to someone move around in my living room. My gun was in the brown bear cookie jar…my cell…in the bathroom charging. I kept my two-pound Mag lite next to my clock and at the moment, it was the closest I could come to a weapon.”
After two years of silence, Stephanie’s’ ex Diesal shows up. Just so happens they are after the same guy named Oswald Wednesday. Diesel had contacts and information she did not have access to, so she wanted to stay on his good side. Diesal was one of those guys who said he’d have to kill me if he shared anything. So, Stephanie keeps her eyes wide open and treads lightly. She wasn’t sure if Diesel was for her or himself. She was willing to do most anything to get this bad guy and bring him to justice. (Almost anything)
This is an interesting story, but it’s a genre I don’t normally read because of the profanity, violence (blood, cut out tongues etc.) and sexual references/ talk about being naked, mooning people, etc. I appreciated that the author's used “what the fork” instead of you know what. Grin. I had read a book by the name of, The Bounty by this author and Steve Hamilton. I enjoyed the adventure and the context of the story. The Miss Plum novel didn’t give me warm fuzzes and the sense of adventure The Bounty did. (It was a Fox and O’hare novel.) That novel had less T & A. I enjoyed the flirting and hints of passion without descriptions of touching etc. In that book I enjoyed the teamwork the two main characters had, the witty dialogue and the beautiful and fun places the author took readers.
There are many funny lines in this novel like this one, “You never know about people…one minute they’re prom queen and then the next thing they are whackadoole.” I most likely won’t be reading any more books in this series, but I look forward to reading more A Fox and O’Hare novels.

Stephanie is basically a skip tracer working for a bail bondsman and hunting down those who fail to appear in court. Her long termer is a police detective, her family (as well as his) is dysFUNctional. The hot guy who rarely turns up is a private eye (of sorts) and is after the same cybercriminal she is (but for different reasons). Said cyber criminal gives a whole new meaning to the term *hacker*. Every character really is, and this is one of the busiest books I've read in a while. Fantastic fun!
I requested and received a free ebook copy from Atria Books via NetGalley. THANK YOU!

I've sporadically read this series, and they're always full of laughs and ample mystery, along with a bit of romance. It's a quick, enjoyable read for fans of this series.

Used to read this author but stopped because the novels were all the same. Picked this one up because a review said the story was fresh and new. Did not find the fresh or the new. Some authors can continue series after 20 or more books with the same cast of characters - others can not.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an e ARC of this book.
Quick entertaining read that had an interesting plot and wasn't too gory.
Stephanie is her usual witty self. Nothing earh tshaking but better than tv.
3.5 stars

I have read all of the Stephanie Plum adventures and this one has one of the best plots. Stephanie and Lula are out to find a hacker who is wreaking all kinds of havoc and is killing people along the way. Of course, he has also skipped bond so that sends Stephanie on his trail. It includes all the trademark wackiness of Evanovich's stories including crazy side characters which Stephanie has to somehow keep alive, a funeral with Grandma, meals with Stephanie's parents, her boyfriend Joe, her protector Ranger, and exploding cars. She also includes a couple of characters from previous books, Diesel and Wulff. I don't care for the inclusion of the supernatural characters, especially Wulff, who really adds nothing to the story. I really enjoyed the 28th installment in Stephanie Plum's adventures. It was more believable and less weird than some of the recent stories.

Another winner for Janet Evanovich. As always, her Stephanie Plum books are fun and entertaining. Wacky plots and characters make for an absorbing read.

Stephanie Plum is up to her usual antics in this latest installment. Of course she has her main FTA as well as some side ones and plenty of action. Because I’ve been reading this series since time began, well since Evanovich started writing them, I have come to love the characters even with all their quirks and peculiarities. You could technically pick up any of the series and start reading yet you would miss out on some laugh out loud, shake your head in disbelief moments.

This filled my once a year fix that only a Stephanie Plum book can do. Take the book for what it is- it’s not meant to have a huge mystery that you have to put so much thought into or some big romance. Would have liked more of the comedic happenings that are typical of these books , and let’s be honest- we are all ready for a the romance to be one way or the other. This one was a filler with no fluff in that department. But will I anxiously wait for the next installment? You bet. Will I preorder the new series? Another yes.

Stephanie Plum books are always a very fun and entertaining read and this newest one ups the fugitive apprehension
game a bit. Lots of Lula, Stephanie and Diesel chasing after a crazy hacker plus some of the regular characters readers have come to expect and love helping out. I could actually see this set of circumstances happening in the craziness our world has become. It's good to know even fictional people work to stop the crazies from wrecking havoc just for kicks!

Stephanie Plum is back full-force--Morelli, Ranger, Grandma, Lula, Vinnie, and even Diesel all in one book! It starts out with Lula's juju getting out of whack--which according to her, led to the rest of the shenanigans. A professional hacker has skipped bail but remains camped out in the Burg, threatening Diesel's super-secret mission as well as Stephanie's and Lula's lives. There are two techno-geeks hiding out in Stephanie's parents' house while she tries to protect them from their own hubris--the hacked the hacker, and now everyone's got to pay.
Rollicking as usual, Stephanie Plum #28 is a fun ride filled with everyone's favorite characters--who knew what had happened to Diesel after his own series fell flat? Much recommended for long-time fans, but there's nothing new to see here, folks. If you were worn out by the madcap tomfoolery by book 15, jumping back in on this one is a bad plan.

What I Loved
Suppose you have never read a book in the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. In that case, the first thing I love about the series is that it is written with little summaries of relevant events and characters as they appear in each book. This should make jumping into the series at any point perfectly fine, and I wouldn’t anticipate any issues following along. But, be warned, once you read and enjoy one, you will want to go back and read them all.
One of the first things I noticed in Game On is a definite shift in tone from the previous books. That shift in tone is excellent because it reflects a change in Stephanie Plum. She is growing and changing as a character. That is refreshing and great to experience. My only wish in the past was to see some growth in Stephanie because the series had begun to feel a bit stale with the same struggles happening repeatedly. Hopefully, she will continue to grow and change, even if it is just subtly.
I’ve always enjoyed the setting – a small Berg of Trenton, New Jersey. It’s just small enough to give Stephanie, someone born in raised in the neighborhood, plenty of resources for information. It also has that homey feel that I can easily relate to and adds bits of lightness and humor throughout the thrilling, action-packed, and often dangerous tale, as Stephanie doesn’t leave any stones unturned- from the gossip chains of her mother and grandmother to the mob connections of the Bail Bonds’ office manager.
I love so many things about this series. Still, one of the last ones I will mention here is that this soft-boiled mystery is full of thrills, spills, and dangerous situations. The pages literally couldn’t flip faster as I treated my love of thrills and my love of laughter within the same bound package. The story is dotted with perfectly timed comedic relief through a few larger-than-life characters and repeating events. Does the humor detract from the thrills? I don’t believe so – they just give me an extra reason to love this series and keep me coming back for each installment.
Characters
I’ve already mentioned the main character, Stephanie Plum. She is a bounty hunter who refuses to carry a gun, so she relies on her uncanny instincts and wit rather than brute force. Does she sometimes need help because she usually is dealing with evil men? Of course, she does, but that just brings in a host of endearing and quirky characters and lots of fun to read about.
In this novel, Diesel returns. He is a man of mystery and magic who sometimes comes to Trenton and inevitably crosses paths with Stephanie. This time they are looking for the same man who is planning something significant with his hacking skills and failed to show for his court appointment. Who Diesel is or even what he is is unknown, but he always intrigues me because of his mysterious magic.
Reminds Me Of
Some books and series remind me of this one, but I’ve never thought in terms of the Stephanie Plum series reminding me of something else. It came first, so it’s always the series that I hold similar stories up to.
What I Wish
Stephanie is still in a state of flux, so I would like to continue to see her grow and change.
To Read or Not to Read
If you love thrills and spills and enjoy a healthy dose of humor, the Stephanie Plum series is waiting for you to pick up just one of the many books in the series. Once you do, you will find yourself looking for time to read more.
