A lovely, heartfelt read. Great writing, great characters. My first book by this author, and I intend to read more. Thanks to NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Lindsay Harrel is a masterful writer of women's fiction! I've loved all of her books and I loved the Walker beach series. I was so pleased to see that it was going to continue in a way with the Inn at Walker beach, the 1st book in the Barefoot Sisterhood series 😊 Several women in Walker Beach receive a mysterious invitation to the Barefoot Sisterhood at the soon to be renovated Inn at Walker Beach. As these women come together, some strangers and some mere acquaintances, they learn to support one another, to support each others dreams. Playing on each of their strengths, the women in this group will learn to soar while working together to create a safe haven and learning environment for other women at the Inn at Walker beach. Lindsay's books radiate hope and positively. I'm definitely looking forward to the 2nd book in this series!

I haven't read the author's Walker Beach series, but that didn't hinder my understanding of this new series.

Jules Baker, with some help from her deceased best friend, purchases the Inn at Walker Beach with the intention of renovating and opening it as The Refuge, a place for women in need. This story follows the ladies
invited to become the Barefoot Sisterhood. You learn about each individual, their stories and watch as they grow, leaning on each other. Very strong woman friendship story. I'm interested in reading more in this series.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for a temporary, digital ARC in return for my review.

If you’re looking for a read that has all the feelings, you’re in the right place!

Jules decides to carry out her friend’s dream of renovating The inn and create The Refuge, a place we’re women who escaped violent relationships can heal and learn new skills. The Sisterhood was formed to bring The Refuge to reality, and out of this wonderful group of woman relationships were formed, pasts were healed and families grew closer.

There are two main storylines, one for Jenna, a single Mom and Cameron, her boss. Another for Elise and Charles, parents of six adult children and who have been experiencing troubles of their own. Relationships are hard, no matter the age, and decisions have consequences. These consequences can bring people closer or lead to heartbreak. Which will it be? I don’t write spoilers, so you’ll want to read this to find out.

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

This was also a duel storyline read similar to something I recently read but with a whole new context
Premise
Jenna Wakefield has been through a lot in her twenty-seven years—losing her mother, becoming a teen mom, and battling depression, just to name a few. And working a dead-end job, barely paying her bills, and fighting unrequited feelings for her boss aren’t exactly part of the life she always imagined.

With her six children grown and her husband constantly traveling for work, Elise Griffin finds herself utterly without purpose for the first time ever at age sixty-three. But “retirement” isn’t as wonderful as it might sound—it gives her far too much time to think about the affair her husband had a year ago ... the one she’s never told anyone about.

When both women are invited into the mysterious Barefoot Sisterhood and asked to help restore an old beachside inn for a good cause, they find themselves supported and encouraged in new and exciting ways. This inspiration leads to dream seeking ... and new romance as well.
I love a dual storyline as it is enough to keep you interested, but not two many characters to keep you confused and distracted. I loved how these two women of different backgrounds and ages came together and found common ground to make something beautiful. It was very nicely written and I enjoyed the storyline very much.

"The Inn at Walker Beach", by Lindsay Harrel, centers around several strong yet hurting women in a small, quaint beach town as they begin the Barefoot Sisterhood. The main character, Jenna, is working on updating a run down Bed and Breakfast as she dreams of opening it to women who need a respite. Elise, an older woman, is struggling with learning how to forgive her husband after he cheated on her. There were several other women featured through this book, but at times it was hard to keep them all separate and remember each of their stories.

I enjoyed the easy camaradarie between the women and how they cheered each other on. This was an excellent book! Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

Lindsay Harrel extends the gift of an entire community of interesting, realistic characters and their genuine struggles through life. Creatively, Harrel challenges readers to examine motivation, circumstances and reactions that may be similar to the diverse cast of women of the Barefoot Sisterhood. Barefoot is the name of the neglected Walker Beach B&B recently purchased for the purpose of renovation. Mysterious invitations are sent to several women in town, and that's where the action begins. The purpose of the meeting and for a remodeled inn quickly grabs attention in this first installment of the series. There's a compelling sample of book two included to spark further interest.

I received a copy of the book without obligation. This review is my opinion.
