Love a rockstar romance and this was no exception. The chemistry of these characters were spot on and I loved being behind the scenes of a rock show as it’s not something I’ve ever experienced. Definitely will be reading more of this authors works for sure!
Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity review this book.
Chasing Alys is a full length steamy rock star romance. It is the first book following Rhiannon and the first in the True Platinum Series. This was one of those books that sucked me in from the beginning and didn’t let go until I finished!
Ryan was very caring and trusting towards Alys. She has had a harder time finding love than normal people. Pretty much everything has gone wrong. Ryan though works hard at breaking down those walls. This was a nice rockstar romance.
I received this ARC through #netgalley and I am voluntarily reviewing this book
I love this book. The two main characters are Alys and Ryan. Alys is in the film industry and Ryan is the lead singer for a rising band. Alys is on a no dating routine. Ryan chases Alys. He is in love with her. Alys has trust issues and Ryan is helping her to overcome them. They work out a solution for when he is on tour to be able to see one another. They both live each other.
This book was a lot sweeter than I thought it was going to be. I went in expecting it to be more of a sexy book which it still was but not as much as I thought. The idea of Ryan chasing her the whole time was wonderful, I wish there were a few more surprises once they actually got together but I loved it anyways.
I really loved this rock star romance. It gave a glimpse of the rock star world, TV production, relationship dread,
friendship, and trust! I really enjoyed the story.
Alys has a history of bad relationships and trust issues. When she meets the "perfect man" Ryan, we get to
watch their relationship unfold. At times I wanted to shake Alys, all the more reason I loved the book.
I was drawn in and invested in their world.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this ARC!
Alys has been burnt by guys before and Ryan, the rising star rocker, is one she is trying to avoid. But of course, eventually they begin a relationship, which is fraught with anxiety, angst and love. The characters have flaws just like the rest of us, but they are written so that they are believable people. It's great to read about what happens behind the scenes in production and the actual stage show. I love to learn about this, and the author has researched it well. The story ends with a satisfying HEA, but it takes you on a captivating journey first.
Thank you to Net Galley for providing me this copy in exchange for my unpaid, honest review.
The title is "Chasing Alys" and the book is literally all about the chase. There wasn't a lot of depth and I found the main character a little more stand-offish than I would prefer, but it is a story about learning to trust again. I really enjoyed the main character's best friend Emily. I hope there is a spinoff book about her!

This is the first book in True Platinum series. If you love a rock star romance this is for you.
This is a tad different from other rock star romances I have read. There is no substance abuse or any of the normal “bad rockstar” traits. Our Romanic interest Ryan is dare I say the perfect guy? I fell in love with him and how far he was willing to chase Alys (see my clever wording?)
I will say I wish we got more background about Ryan the author did touch on him but much of the focus was on Alys. Alys has a huge fear of commitment and being hurt. At points I felt it was to much and she was self deprecating but it added to the story.
This is a series so I’m excited to see the author grow and add more of the band members into the story.
Lastly the play list is fire, All time low, the Maine, you me at six, Fleetwood Mac! Need I say more?
This was a very fun ride! Aside from a compelling story, it was an interesting peek into a lot of different worlds--the experiences of a rising musician, the grunt work of TV production, life in Wales, etc. I love books where I come away feeling like I've learned a little something while I read.
Both of the MCs are nice, but flawed people. Alys has major trust issues and Ryan is not the best at communication. This causes plenty of obstacles between them, despite their chemistry and affection for each other. I was definitely cheering for them to work through it, though, and enjoying the steam along the way!
The most telling thing I can probably say after reading this is that it inspired me to download Between Takes (another work by this author that seems to be set in this universe) and I can't wait to start it!
Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!
