The illustrations in this book are fantastic and I love the graphic novel style but I felt the dialogue left something to be desired. I really wanted to love this.

Perfect for autumn, this picture book is very straightforward in its messaging of doing good deeds and good deeds will be done onto you. But less straightforward are themes of judging actions rather than words, or even challenging some gender norms! I really enjoyed those elements. The art is sharp and drawn in panels as if reading a comic, which gave it a fresh feel. The characters are expressive and well designed. There are moments of silence in this picture book that are well deserved and let you just admire the art. I also appreciated that. The season is a character (in a roundabout way, not literally) in this book so If you are looking for that seasonal feel, this is your book.

I enjoyed this one! The illustrations were so animated. It gave me a Winnie the Pooh vibe and was nostalgic. I enjoyed the message about getting back what you put into the community and doing your part.

A beautifully illustrated book with very little text - ideal for my 3.5-year-old, who prefers being active while we read, and she is the one telling the story based on the pictures. This book offers several great topics to discuss with your kid - seasons, animals getting prepared for winter, acts of kindness, responsibility, friendship.
Looking forward to the upcoming books in this series.

Poor Mister Grumpf just wants one thing. He just wants to clean up his leaves but his neighbors are so needy they can't see how much of a pain they are. I related to Mister Grumpf so much. This was a cute book for kids. Glad I was able to read.

This is such a cute story. I love how Mister Grumpf is a very grumpy person but he shows kindness to his neighbors which they show in return. This is a great book to teach children a lesson. The pictures are so bright and colorful. I love how it is written like a comic book. Such a fun story for fall!

Absolutely stunning illustrations! They're so bright and colorful and vivid I'm sure the kids will be fascinated with them.

This would be a great circle time read, with the potential for a lot of laughs, especially if the reader has fun with the "grumpf". Along with the fun comes a good message about accepting people as they are, helping when you're able, and being part of a community.

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!

ARC Copy...I very much describe this as cute and coozy autumn read. I feel that Mr Grump is similar to Bruce the Bear in many ways being grumpy but Mr Grump has abit more of heart towards his neighbors despite being grumpy in nature.

The story had a good message and I always like a good seasonal story but this one was just ok. We may buy it for the library but I'm not convinced.

This book was a really cozy dorky read. What I liked about the books were it’s different characters and how each one was different from the other; consumed in their individual daily life. The drawings are very beautiful and gives the snuggly fall feels where you want to go out and crunch on the fallen leaves yourself. While I like the book I wish it was a little longer and we could have seen a little bit more story of the characters.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Diamond Book Distributors/Magnetic Press for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is an adorable children's book. It made me smile. Mr. Grumpf was so stoic! I enjoyed it. 4 stars

All Mister Grumpf wants to do is clear his doorstep of leaves. His neighbours keep interrupting him, though. They all want help, either with preparations for winter or when things go wrong.

Mister Grumpf, despite his grumpiness, is there for his neighbours, helping them with their problems while his own continue to pile up.

There’s minimal text in this picture book but the illustrations clearly tell the story. The animals are all expressive, especially Mister Grumpf. I especially liked the glimpses inside the characters’ homes and the autumn colours.

This book reminded me of Steve Smallman’s Kind Mr Bear, where an elderly bear is always there to help his neighbours until he becomes ill and needs help himself.

I’m planning on continuing this series through the seasons.

Thank you so much to NetGalley, Magnetic Press and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the opportunity to read this picture book.

This book beautifully teaches the importance of community. What does it mean to be a caring neighbor?

I loved reading this book to my children. I kind of felt that Grumpf was a great personification of myself at times. The artwork is stunning. I look forward to hopefully reading more.

I received an advance copy of, Beneath the Trees, by Dav. This is a cute story about, Mr. Grumph. His neighbors in the forest adore him, and he does not realize it. He just wants to be left alone, but his neighbors wont stop bothering him. The illustrations in this book are really good.

What a really cute and fun Fall-themed easy graphic novel! The art is really lively and nice. The text is simple and the font is easy to read in easy-to-find text bubbles. The fall-themed book is all about friendship and helping each other out, even if sometimes you may be reluctant.

A fun little story for fun little readers, where a grumpy old badger is trying to get his neighbourhood cleared of the autumn leaves that keep falling. You soon see how he got his name when all and sundry come calling, getting in the way, demanding he help them... It's been well-designed and is really quite entertaining in its own little way, but is very much over-priced. For the charge asked for the thirty pages or so of this book I'd have expected all four seasons in one set of covers. At least three are in the original French – here's hoping we can collect the set, or see them en masse, at some point in the future. I'd definitely recommend having a look at this volume, given the chance – but I'd never have paid for a real-world copy.
