What a sweet short book, perfect to put kids and parents in the mood for fall.
Mr Grumpf is trying to clean the front of his house but his neighbors keep showing up and distracting him from his work, but even though he’s really grumpy he helps them with an open heart.
It was a nice lesson of how you don’t need to speak much to show people your appreciation.
I loved the art, it’s so very fall, the colors and the leaves, the animals all preparing for hibernation, it’s adorable and the little twist in the end was the perfect way to conclude the story.
I’m sure kids and parents are going to have a blast reading it together.
“Thank you netgalley and the publisher for this arc in exchange for my honest review”

Mr. Grumpf the badger is another mean old man from next door, but is an absolute gem! This story has an underlying lesson of, "Don't judge a book by its cover." While he is a grumpy old man, he does help feed his neighbors and helps the kids from the neighborhood. It seems Mr. Grumpf can't catch a break, but eventually, things turn around for the badger.
This book is wonderful and sweet. It tells the story of true neighborly love. I recommend this book to those looking for a fun fall-themed Children's Picture book.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers of Beneath the Trees for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. The animated illustrations in this book are wonderful!! The story in a print format is sweet, but I think the storyline would be better conveyed through an animated short film.

I would like the watch the animation series.
I love the illustrations. It has the classic animation artstyle which I really appreciate.
The story gives off a somewhat gloomy vibe otherwise I feel the kids reading the story would understand the good nature of the main grumpy character here.
Good at heart but seen as someone grumpy, I can feel the character.
Looking forward to what comes next in the series!
Thank you author/artist and the publisher for the advance reader copy.
