this was a sweet story that had a bit of family drama, romance, and a beautiful emotional journey. it's a fun read that you don't want to leave when it's over :)

This is my first book by this author and so I think this is part of a series but one I had never read before. I really enjoyed it. It was definitely a page turner and I enjoyed the authors writing style. It also easily stands alone.

The stars in this story are Skylar who is a 21 year old college student who is on a very tight budget. She comes from a very large crazy family. One day she meets the towns mayors four year old daughter and he offers her a job. And so she becomes a governess. Rhett, the mayor is 35 years old single dad who has a murky past. He is the best dad and as he and Skylar spend time together things get complicated.

This story gave me Jane Eyre feels. Rhett is Mr Darcy and Skylar is Jane and there even a cold attic room that Jane uses. There is a nasty PA to Rhett, and secrets of whose the mom of the mayor's young daughter. It was a really interesting story and I loved how the author told this story.
