(3.5 Stars) CC and Reese have a whirlwind romance when she crashes her car into his cattle fence and has to stay with him for a few days while her car is being fixed. CROSS-COUNTRY Christmas is a sweet story, complete with a small town, heavy baggage and trauma, and insta-love.
It was fun to read about their individual family Christmas traditions and to watch as their backgrounds slowly unraveled. It was exciting to watch both CC and Reese to find their home and family, in the midst of the back and forth of diving head-long into love and then retreating to heal.
Full of heartbreak, trust issues, and a longing for love, this story touches the heart.
Content: mild romance; mild moment of peril; feelings of abandonment

This was a heartwarming story of a woman with no family and a man with no hope discovering love together. I loved the premise of Reese rescuing CC from a car wreck in a snowstorm, and the forced proximity while she stayed with him and the delightful couple who help work the ranch. I definitely got Hallmark-movie vibes as I read- both the pros and the cons. The dialogue was stilted, even when they were supposed to be bantering, which killed the chemistry for me. The setting was idealistic, but there was too much description of the specifics and I lost interest in CC's reaction to the relative opulence instead of feeling the homey vibe. I loved Emmie and Carlos as they encouraged Reese and CC, while also opening up about their own struggles. Reese and CC each got tied up in their own thoughts quite a bit which resulted in too much angst for me without realistic progress in their relationship. There is a bit of suspense built into the plot with CC's ex-fiance and mystery mother as the local sheriff investigates her background. I think this story could be enjoyed by others but it was a bit of a miss for me.

This book has charm, with the main characters that have depth and each have their own battles and insecurities to overcome. As they work to overcome the hurt in their pasts to take in the beauty and joy around them during this healing, magical time of year.
I enjoyed this sweet and heartfelt holiday story. The characters were well written and charming. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.
I was not able to finish this book before the time up. I would still love to read this book another time though.
Romance, sweet, contemporary; Series but stand alone read
CC and Reese's romance was sweetly told. Lovely gradual fall between the standoffish, skeptical Reese and CC who's genuine open nature gradually wins over Reese. Life at Reese's House/Ranch was a wonderful place for CC to land after her accident. His generosity, kindness to her after his initial reluctance to admit her into his life and heart was sweetly drawn. Real, honest emotions, hurting hearts, and a sweetly drawn fall between them made for a lovely, sweet romance. Great supporting characters and the setting was beautifully drawn made for a fun, sweet read.

In Cross-Country Christmas, by Laurie Lewis, you will see CC Cippolini heading across the countryside driving a new electric car, when she suddenly finds herself trapped in a snowdrift!
Unfortunately, CC knocked down fencing, allowing Reese Brockbank’s highly valued Angus cattle to run loose. If Reese’s cattle roam onto government land, he could loose his future grazing rights!
As CC ends up spending several nights at Reese’s cabin during a snowstorm, you will be surprised when you see CC’s past come back to haunt her. Hold tight to see how their relationship may change during this Christmas season!
CC Cippolini takes a job delivering a luxury car across the country, but an accident sends her crashing into rancher Reese Brockbank's life just in time for Christmas.
Reese has been through a lot, and understandably isn't crazy about celebrating Christmas. I like that he is very open and honest, showing her how he lives his life and letting CC see him as he is. This was a sweet romance, with both the main characters having a lot in their pasts. This was a well paced read, and I really liked Reese, he was a solid hero. But CC was a little harder to love with how she handled things, which made things frustrating for a while. Though I loved her enthusiasm for Christmas and how she helps him open up.
Overall, this was a quick read set in a picturesque small town, I loved that Reese had such supportive friends and family. A fun Christmas romance, with an handsome cowboy hero.

A book about faith—in ourselves, in others, and in God—that isn’t preachy. Both of our main characters have things in their past that they struggle with, and, as with so many of the “Hallmark movie” tropes. In this one, he’s the grinch, and she’s the big-hearted Christmas lover. Of course, each of them helps the other to deal with their issues, even if they don’t realize that’s what they’re doing. Throw in the ex-boyfriend-on-the-doorstep-just-as-things-are-going-well twist, and you get a fairly predictable moment. Of course, we know how it will end, it’s just a matter of how the author gets us there. This is another one with some delightful side characters.
Once again, there’s no objectionable content. There’s some kissing, and some reference to a married couple being together after being separated for a few days.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

CC has just left a toxic relationship and is on her way to Vegas to deliver a Tesla and to fulfil a wish of her father who passed away years ago. When she crashes the Tesla in the mountains of Utah, she is found by rancher and silver mine owner, Reese Brockbank. The two have very different backgrounds but the trials that have brought them to this point may just be what makes them so well suited to each other. The romance and story are sweet and the many themes are woven together in a way that will touch your heart and make you think about things from a variety of perspectives.
The pace was a bit slow and sometimes a choppy which made it hard for me to get into, but overall it was a cozy and pleasant read. Thanks for the advance reader copy, NetGalley.
Wow, wow, wow! This book just knocked my socks off. It starts off with a bang and just kept me going from there. Lewis takes the reader on an emotional journey. Can two broken people heal each other? Or are they too broken to ever be repaired? I loved the gentle and kind ways of Reese. He had a steady and thoughtful presence that made you feel comforted like being wrapped up in a warm blanket. CC was such a positive and cheerful soul. I loved her ability to brighten others’ spirits. Lewis beautifully weaves in faith and family into the story. Cross-Country Christmas is a take full of faith, healing, family, and love. The perfect heartwarming read for Christmas or any time of year; I highly recommend Cross-Country Christmas!
I love a good Christmas book this time of year! This one by Laurie Lewis was so great! I loved her characters and her plot. As well as the setting of the book.
The way CC woke up in the field with really no idea how she got there really drew me in. How did she end up in a field of cows in a super expensive Tesla? As I read on further, I learned how, and why. I loved everything about CC, especially her generous heart. There are things that you learn about her until the very end. I loved how the author did that in this book.
Then there’s Reese, like CC, his character is complicated and has a lot of secrets. But the reader can tell from the start that he is a good guy. I loved how he rescued CC with no thought for how it would affect him. He truly was a class act. I loved learning his secrets and about his family.
I really loved Reese’s house. It seemed to be the perfect, idyllic place for CC to heal and learn more about herself. The plot of this one took some twists and turns that I loved. This book was so great! Make sure to read it for yourself.
I was sent a copy of Cross Country Christmas as a gift from the author. All opinions are my own.
This was a wonderful Christmas story about letting go of the past to have a brighter future. I loved how the main characters both had things in their past that they had to deal with in order to be together and I liked that they helped each other through those things. This story did tug on your emotions and made you feel for these characters. I loved how Christmas helped them to see joy and hope for the future.

This is A sweet heart felt romance. CC and Reese have to over come their struggles and past hurts so they can learn to love. I enjoyed it from beginning to end.

This was a cute little Christmas story. It was filled with a little romance and some mystery, I enjoyed it.
I never thought I would love a Christmas Story that revolves around a Tesla and a ranch in Utah, but this one proved me wrong.
This story was fresh and fun and kept it's secrets while revealing them slowly throughout the story. When you have a man and a woman that gave up on love, and mix in a snowstorm and some much needed help, you have a story that allows them each to break through the snow and ice left in their hearts and find the heartwarming, should be a hallmark Christmas movie inside. The side characters are fantastic and the main characters have depth and nuance.
This is a read it on a cold day, wrapped in a blanket with a cup of cocoa kind of read. The romance is delightful, the growth is perfect, and every note of this is lovely. I highly recommend it and I hope for more since there are several brothers in the hero's family.
I received an early copy from the publisher through NetGalley and this is my honest review.
This was a very enjoyable read, but the timeline is really short for all that happens in it. Sometimes when you meet someone, you just know. But sometimes people have some issues they have to work through and it takes longer. This seemed like the latter of the two scenarios. Also the mine was mentioned, but never really explained. At first I thought his first wife was a fortune hunter, but that wasn't the case, so I am still not sure...
