This was a real slow burn for me. The first half was hard to get through but it was worth it because the last half was a roller coaster! I wished I could’ve read the last 50% in one sitting because I was on the edge of my seat each time I picked it up. As I neared the last few chapters, I felt as if the ending was a little too predictable but that last chapter got me! Such a clever storyline and characters that were so easy to love and hate at the same time. I knocked off a star because of the slow beginning but it was necessary for the build up. I can’t what to read more by Ms. Richmonde!

The Guilty Sister by Arianne Richmonde. is a WTF is going on psychological thriller that is written with POVs that will keep you guessing and being wrong most of the time.

Cece is missing. Her twin Sara is suspect. There is jealousy, misdeeds and a swoon worthy boyfriend. The writing is slick, ingenious and has made me a fan of this writer. Anything else would be a spoiler. Just dive in and enjoy!

This is a difficult book to do justice to in a review, it’s just so good. I had high expectations for it, having read some of this author’s books before, but this one is really superb.

It opens with a fascinating prologue, which leaves the reader wanting more, but won’t make sense until much later on.

The story is told from several characters’ points of view, which gives us an insight into these characters, or does it? I can’t say too much about the plot, for fear of spoiling it, but one thing I will say is that, everything that you think you know during the course of this book is wrong. There are lots of books with shocking plot twists, but this book takes it to a whole other level. I have hardly ever read a book with such a clever and twisty plot.

It starts off at a fairly languid pace, and this totally lulled me into a false sense of security. I was expecting it to all build up into a crescendo at the end, but no, just over half way through comes the first in a series of jaw-dropping twists.

This book had me totally addicted, and I just sat for hours turning the pages, as there was no way I could put it down until the very end.

I must say as well, that apart from the completely compelling plot, it’s a beautifully written book. The prose and descriptions really make for a sense of authenticity, and I was totally transported into the settings.

A completely consuming and thrilling read, this book is an absolute must-read, it’s just too good to miss.

Arianne Richmonde is becoming one of my go to authors for thrillers. I love how she portrays her characters and like previous books The Guilty Sister kept me on the edge of my seat right up to the end with all its twists and turns.
I highly recommend it.

Gripping and suspenseful story.
The author changed the title from One Happy Family to The Guilty Sister which was a good idea because this is not a nice family, and these are not nice characters.

Slow burn romance…maybe
Sibling rivalry…perhaps
Diabolical characters…definitely

This author delivers another suspenseful thrilling psychological that was full of surprises that had me on the edge of my seat.
Well paced, the author offers a huge hint at the beginning of this story setting the stage of what’s to come. Sara is an NYC freelance artist, works from home, spends her days either creating book cover artistry or walking her special needs dog Poppy. When she meets Bradley an NYC successful Wall Streeter. Their connection started innocent enough, but quickly questions began to emerge about who these people are and where they’re heading.
What happens?
Well worth reading to find out. There were elements of the story that were predictable to me and I blame it on too much reading. Nonetheless, the build up, the suspense and how the scenes unfolded and were delivered made for one enjoyable story.
4.5 stars!

Everyone should be able to trust their family right? Except maybe not everyone should.

Sara and Bradley two strangers who serendipitously meet in Central Park start dating and each of them has some dark baggage that the other doesn’t know about.

Sara does not want Bradley to meet her twin sister Cecilia aka the prettier twin under any circumstance because she’s a man stealer. But Bradley does meet Cecilia. How far will Sara go to put an end to her twin’s reckless behavior? Sometimes it seems (in the fictional world obvi) that all limits have to be set aside to really take care of a pestering problem even if that problem is your twin.

The ending will have you saying what in the actual hell I did NOT see that coming in any way.

The build up initially was a little slow for me so I skimmed a bit. That’s exactly how I felt with Rock Paper Scissors so take that with a grain of salt because most people have loved that one (I want non stop thrill from page 1 to the end😅). Otherwise I’m telling you nail-biting psychological thriller to the max!

Sara works from home as a graphic designer and lives in New York with the her lovely dog, Poppy who loves to take a stroll in Central Park everyday. Little does Sara knows there's one man whose been watching her.
Bradly fall in love at first sight when he sees Sara for the first time and has been trying to figure out the best idea to approach her. When he finally did, they started to get to know each other. However, both of them have their own secrets that threaten to break their trust and relationship with each other.

This book is pretty well written and the plot is well crafted. I really like the dual POV in this book which makes it easier to get to know the characters better because both of them are hiding their own secrets. The fast pacing and the short chapters in this book manage to keep me reading and I have to admit putting down this book is almost impossible because I just wanted to know what happen next every time I finish reading one chapter.

I really like how this book explored a simple thing such as the effect of social media. Anybody can claim to be somebody else easily on social media. Sometimes we could even lose ourselves along the way.
I also love the twists and turns in this book, I have so many theories because my brain couldn't stop creating one while I was reading this. I was surprised that my suspicion near the ending was confirmed!

Nonetheless, I feel like there's something missing with the ending because I didn't feel 100% satisfied with it. It's not that I don't like it but I wanted something more from that ending and epilogue.

Overall, this is a very enjoyable and entertaining read. I really have a good time following Sara's journey about healing from grief and finally embracing her true self. I'm looking forward to other books from this author!

If you're looking for a quick read filled with tensions and mystery then this book might be for you!

When I read this book it was titled One Happy Family by Arianne Richmonde. It has since changed to The Guilty Sister and I must say I like this title much better!! This is a story of identical twins that are anything but identical! This is a psychological thriller that has romance, friendships, mystery, suspense and so many secrets you will lose count. Richmonde will keep you guessing all the way through the book! You will not be disappointed. I recommend you grab a copy and leave some time, you will not want to put it down.

I was lucky to receive an advance copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review and opinions. I really enjoyed this book and it seriously kept me guessing the entire way through. I will admit I stayed up way too late to finish it as it's truly that good and I was dying to know how it ends. I will for sure be adding Arianne Richmonde to my list of must read authors from now on!

While reading this book, I kept wondering who.
Who was the guilty sister? Who was the unreliable narrator? What was the event that caused the interrogation occurring during the "now" chapters?
Sara lives close to Central Park - a book cover designer, who doesn't want that job? She gets the joy of reading ARC of books, develops and works with the author to design the perfect cover. Working from home allows Sara to care for her special needs dog, Poppy.
Bradley happens to see Sara with her dog one morning, taking a different path on his way to his Wall Street job. Oh the author calls out all the swanky details of Bradley's appearance - the crazy expensive suit, the watch, his thirst for money yet his loneliness. He quietly watches, borderline stalks Sara until he manages to interact with her and Poppy.
Sara has experienced much trauma - unraveled as the plot progresses.
Slow build - I couldn't stop thinking about what was the point? Oh the point is revealed.
At times it was difficult to continue with this book - it was too slow at times yet worth finishing.

Wow I’ve loved her books in the past but this one is my favourite, absolutely brilliant. I loved the characters and the tension of the story all the way though. I guessed part of the story but there was still an added twist at the end . I would highly recommend this book to my audience. Can’t wait for the next book from this author

I received from NetGalley very interesting story! I have not read from this author at all. I liked the cover it is what made me want the story and the description and I was not disappointed in it. I couldn't put it down.

Graphic artist Sara lives in New York City, as does Bradley. Sara regularly takes her rescue dog to the park and one day meets wealthy Bradley. The two get on well but Sara has reservations about their relationship. Her identical twin sister, Cecilia, is an Instagram influencer living in Thailand, and Sara tells Cece about him. Cece is outgoing and free-spirited, the opposite in nature to Sara. Sara keeps Cece's identity a secret from Bradley then gorgeous Cece decides to travel to New York to meet Bradley and it all goes south.

The Guilty Sister was a fabulous and riveting read. My second novel from this author did not disappoint and I was on the edge of my seat tapping away on my Kindle. There were some good twists, exceptional characterisation and the ending was clever. A highly entertaining and very worthy tale.

Okay, so to be fair all I read is thrillers, so this one had a lot to live up to in my mind. While it wasn’t a total flop for me, I wasn’t on the edge of my seat waiting to see what came next. Overall, I rate it a ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

Overall, 3.4/5. I found myself intrigued by the story concept, and the result definitely surprised me. However, the characters themselves didn’t feel believable. The ending also comes out of no where. The ebook is still full of typos, but it does make sense despite them. You have to be prepared for a weird flow though; the chapters from Sara’s perspective are first person while the chapters from Bradley’s are third person. I overall applaud how this story kept me guessing, but it definitely could use some improvement. Props for inclusivity via Poppy Delight though!

Highly recommend this for anyone who enjoys psychological thrillers. This was fast paced with so many twists and turns that left me guessing. This was my first time reading this author and I enjoyed it.

I’ve never read anything by this author before but I am so glad I had this recommended to me to give it a read. I read this in two sittings as it was a real page turner for me.

A twisted psychological thriller of a read, not knowing who to trust and trying to second guess the plot, which didn’t happen. The author managed to fool me in such a good way. Chapters are written in ‘now’ and a few months previous. These bring the story together well.

Set around Central Park in New York, I really felt as though I was there watching the storyline unfold as the writing was so descriptive.

The main characters are Bradley and Sara, both single. Sara has a handicapped dog which she walks each day. Bradley spots her and is instantly attracted to her. They start dating but Sara isn’t sure about him when she discovers things about his past. He wants to rush things, she doesn’t.

Sara has a twin sister Cece who is the total opposite to her even though they look alike. Cece is outgoing and has an Instagram page where she poses in bikinis in exotic places. Sara would never dream of doing anything so daring.

When Bradley meets Cece, she excites him in a way Sara can’t, but he loves Sara. Should he ruin what they have for one night of lust with Cece?

Can you ever trust someone if you don’t know their past?

Sara had an identical twin sister named Cece, who’s a social media influencer on Instagram. She lives in Thailand and hides the fact from him. She wants her to stay there and never come to visit. She’s outgoing, shows skin, and is the complete opposite of Sara.
But she’s on the way to NY despite Sara’s begging her not to. In this book, around 55% your draw drops, and it doesn’t come back up. When everyone’s lies and secrets bubble up to the top, 🤯🤯🤯. I can only use that emoji because that’s how you will feel. This book reminds me of a volcano 🌋📚, it’s starts boiling for a the first half and explodes in the second. Sending everything up and out in the open. 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 S̤̈T̤̈Ä̤R̤̈S̤̈

I’m digging these covid books , these authors turned very very dark and I am here for it 🙌🏼.

The Guilty Sister by Arianne Richmonde is a highly recommended psychological thriller. (Previously titled One Happy Family.)

Sara is a graphic artist living in NYC who enjoys taking long walks with her rescue dog Poppy - with Poppy in her dog wheelchair. Bradley sees Sara and Poppy walking through Central Park, is immediately intrigued, and sets out to meet her. Sara, who is reserved, is slow to warm to Bradley's attentions but eventually she accepts an invitation to dinner at his resident, a luxurious penthouse. Sara finds it hard to accept that this successful, wealthy, handsome man finds her interesting and attractive.

Part of this is due in part to Sara's insecurity. Her identical twin Cecelia is the outgoing free spirit who lives in Thailand, and is an Instagram influencer who has pictures of her life plastered across social media. She can get any man she wants. Sara has kept her at a distance for years, but Cecelia claims she wants to come visit. Sara simply can't allow this to happen or Cecelia will steal her boyfriend Bradley, just has she has done before. Sara hasn't told Bradley about Cecelis, but he finds out when they are having dinner at her Aunt Jenny's house and Sara has to admit to him that she has a twin. And now it seems that Bradley is looking at Cecelia's pictures online.

There are plenty of secrets in this novel and everyone is keeping information from everyone else. We know from the opening that the police are interviewing Sara about the disappearance of Cecelia, and the novel follows the story along to where Sara gets to this point. The plot moves at a steady pace as the story unfolds and secrets are exposed. For awhile there will be a wide variety of speculations about what the secrets are and who may have done what. Some of the secrets, as they are exposed, are surprising while others can be surmised from information presented.

Sara is a peculiar character in some ways. She is likable in many ways. She doesn't worry about appearances, loves her dog, enjoys her work, and seemingly keeps a positive attitude. On the other hand we are privy to her inner thought and something always seems just a little bit off. She loves her sister but doesn't want her anywhere near her. Part of this feeling is purposefully written into the novel to keep you guessing and wondering.
