Christmas at Frozen Falls is a fun holiday tale about a broken-hearted woman moving on with her life. I love that she has the courage to do something brave and along the way, get a second chance at love. Her friend, Nari, is a true friend and adds a lot of supportive depth to the story as well. Stellan stole the show for me though. (Well, other than the huskies.) I love his shy, quiet, Finnish manner. His family business is a dream in Lapland and the delights of the area are captured well. A story of self-discovery and second chances with a little Christmas magic sprinkled in.
I had the added privilege of listening to an audiobook, truly bringing the characters to life. I think that is contributed to my enjoyment of this story.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher via NetGalley and all opinions expressed are my own, freely given.

Its nothing That The writer did i think she did a wonderful job with the book.. I personally just got bored with the storyline.

Christmas at Frozen Falls by Kiley Dunbar
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
.
Look at me, reading a Christmas story at the beginning of October… oops!
.
Thank you, @netgalley and #SagaEgmontAudio for this gifted audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
This book was originally released in 2019, but the audiobook is making its debut on 10/31/21!
.
Let me tell you, this book was worth the read. Super cute! Exactly what I needed to get myself excited for the upcoming Christmas season!
.
Synopsis: “Sylvie Magnusson is going to be lonely this Christmas. Instead of jetting off for her honeymoon, she’s freezing at home in Cheshire. Guess that’s what happens when your fiancé dumps you a week before your wedding…
Sylvie’s best friend, Nari, plans a trip to see the Northern Lights and get Sylvie’s mojo back. But as their Lapland getaway approaches, Sylvie realises that Frozen Falls is the hometown of Stellan Virtanen, her dreamy Finnish ex-boyfriend, the one that got away.”
.
Okay, this book was great, not only because of our main character Sylvie, because of her best friend Nari who has her own story.
.
This story included Christmas, traveling, and HUSKIES! How could I not adore this book?
.
This definitely needs to be a must-read for the Christmas season!

Thanks Netgalley for a arc copy of this book for a honest review..
Christmas at Frozen Falls is a delightful read it had me in the Christmas spirit. I love the romance between these two couples 💑 5 star 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Happy Reading Lisa 📚

I can't say that this particular romance kept me entertained 100%. The setting of Finnish Lapland during Christmas does sound amazing; to the extent that I would love to visit the place for real, but I didn't particularly click with the characters themselves - I found Silvie's insecurities and inner monologue a bit frustrating at times in all honesty.
Most of the issues I have with the book relate to the audio version. The book is mostly told in the first person by Silvie in a perfect English accent, with the exception of her actual dialogue, which is narrated in a broad Mancunian/Yorkshire accent. This just does not make sense when the book is being told in the first person perspective. I won't comment too much on the Finnish accent which sounded very Welsh at times, except to say that there are videos on Youtube on 'How to pronounce words in a Finnish accent' ....
The other issue I have is that Silvie is an English teacher and in England school time between holidays is called a Term, so why refer to it as a semester? She is not American or working in an American school and I’m pretty sure if any Americans actually read this book they won’t struggle with the meaning of an English Term!
Thanks to NetGallery and Saga Egmont Audio for allowing me to get a copy of the book.

I may have just found the perfect holiday read! A beautiful setting, side-by-side romances, husky puppies, and a best friend to experience at all with… What’s not to love!?!? The only thing that could make this book better is a fantastic narrator to bring it to life which is exactly What Helen Duff does!!!
If you want to enhance your holidays with just one audio experience this year, Christmas at frozen falls is definitely for you.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 4.5 shiny stars for this feel good holiday read

This is a sweet story set in a lovely location.
It took me a while to get invested in the story but I did enjoy the descriptions of the setting ... and of course the husky puppies.
I did, however, struggle a little bit with the audio. There was a lot going on with two romances, and I got confused a few times at who was who. All the #hashtag mentions were a little grating too. Maybe it would be different if I had been reading a book instead of listening to it.
Personally, I would have enjoyed it more if it was one romance, skip all the background with the ex... he's gone, so who cares... and then I'd want to go on and read the second book with the other romance.

Sylvie is left by her fiancé right before their wedding and is devastated. She decides to change her booked honeymoon to a trip with her best friend to Finland. This is not a random location though, as she’s hoping to reconnect with an exchange student she met in university. This is an adorable tale and perfect for a holiday read. Thanks to NetGalley for the copy.

I'll admit that I read the eBook version of this story but I enjoyed it so much I wanted to experience it through audiobook! I'm so glad I did as well because the narration added something to the story and made it feel more alive!
This might actually be my favourite story this year it is just so festive and the setting was just perfection.

I love Kiley Dunbar’s books! Her stories always pull me right in and make me completely forget about everything else. I already owned the ebook version of this story, but it was still on my TBR pile so when I got the opportunity to listen to this story I was keen to get started. I really enjoyed the story and am curious to see if I would have experienced it differently if I had read it, so maybe one day I will go back and also read the book.
What to expect:
✅ a lot of gorgeous winter scenary and experiences in Lapland
✅ a likeable main character Sylvie with a more outgoing and slightly crazier/feistier best friend Nari
✅ the story has several parts to it. It’s about the two girls going on holiday to Frozen Falls in Lapland and then… there’s Sylvie’s story, meeting her old uni boyfriend again and there’s Nari’s romance.
✅ lots of husky puppies that get a lot of attention as Sylvie has a soft spot for dogs… I wish I could have been there cuddling those puppies!
✅ friends, family and traditions and food!

Cute story, cute main characters, decent secondary characters, cute location. Just cute. Totally expected.
Thanks to NetGalley and Saga Egmont Audio for the ARC.

Christmas at Frozen Falls by Kiley Dunbar
3.5 stars. This makes me want to visit Finland.
Anyway back to this arc… Sylvie is still recovering from her fiancé leaving her days before their wedding. Her best friend Nari suggests a Christmas getaway and Sylvie decides on Lapland, specifically the resort of her first love (and heartbreak) Stellan.
It is a good book filled with things you can do there, and Sylvie finding herself (I guess) and finally her one true love.
It became a bit about Nari and Niilo too. Wasn’t so sure about that. Since Stellan didn’t even have that much POV voice here. But ok. I just think it would’ve been better without Nari and Niilo’s POVs as it distracts from Sylvie and Stellan. At some point, I found Nari’s story more interesting than Sylvie’s.
But the setting is gorgeous and something I loved to read about since it’s been so hot here - sort of a way to cool down.
Narrator was ok too.
Thank you Saga Egmont Audio and NetGalley for this advance copy. I enjoyed listening to it.

Loved this book so much. A great Christmas time love story. The love that once was lost was found again. Nice clean read. Loved the narrator also.

Unfortunately just could not get into this one. The narrator was not for me and that made it difficult to get into the story.
*Thank you to the publisher for this eARc.

A fantastic Christmas read.
Kiley Dunbar writes the perfect Scandinavian getaway. The perfect atmosphere for cosy winter nights.
The story was well paced and I throughly enjoyed the live interests in this book second chance romance is one of my favourite tropes and is done very well in this book for me.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

Sylvie is heartbroken after her fiancé leaves her right before their wedding. Her best friend convinces her to take her honeymoon trip and turn it into a girls holiday! Nari is such a great friend. I felt like I was there on their trip. I loved the romances that were in the book. I also loved all the Christmas spirit. Thank you to Netgalley for giving me this audio ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Review of Christmas at Frozen Falls by Kiley Dunbar - Audiobook
This is the first book I have read by this author. Overall I enjoyed the story. The main character did annoy me a bit though for being such a push over. Her long term partner had ended the ten year relationship just before their wedding and well and truly played her like a fiddle and took everything. She just let this happen and then when he comes calling six month later to ask for the ring back, she just hands it over to his mother! Had it not been for her best friend she would still be under the duvet six months later! Anyways the book centers on her and her best friend on a trip to lapland (which was a swap from the honeymoon she had planned). Whilst there she contacts and re connects with an old flame from her university days. Que the main part of the story.

I really enjoyed the book it transported me back to Lapland with the crisp air and feeling on top of the world. Unfortunately the voice-over let it down her accents just didn't sit quite right with me!

Travel to Finnish Lapland, hug some cute huskies, see the Northern Lights and experience the magic of Christmas along with Sylvie and Nari. It was amazing how a story set in the freezing cold land of Lapland could produce so much warmth that it brought a glow to my heart. A fun romance which showed me that everything happened at a definite time in this universe. Frozen Falls is such a gorgeous location for book, I really felt I was there alongside Sylvie and Nari, its utterly stunning, and if it can't ignite some Christmas feeling in you then nothing will. Perfect read if you want to get into the Christmas spirit, even in the middle of the fall season. I loved Sylvie and her best friend Nari, so I became completely invested in them and their lives from the outset. I loved that while Sylvie reconnected with her ex-boyfriend Stellan, Nari had her own romantic adventure with the adorable, indigenous Niilo. The narrator did a great job with the voices and foreign language. The writing and pacing was well done. This story moved at a great pace that I was able to finish it in one setting. I could not put it down, I had to see what would happen next. The romance is perfect, the setting is beautiful and it all just wraps itself up nicely at the end. It is a lovely story to escape into, with great characters, fantastic frozen scenery, amazing sights and light, and a couple of romances to melt even a frozen heart. I really enjoyed reading it and have no hesitation in highly recommending it to anyone who likes escaping into contemporary, second chance romances. This is my first read by Kiley Dunbar but I can 100% guarantee that it will not be the last Expected publication date 31st October 2021. Thank you to Netgalley, the author and publisher for the ARC.

I've received this book from netgalley in exchange of an honest review.
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this chance. This book is to be released on...
As suggested in the title it's a Christmas season book, with the atmosphere of snow, cookies and Christmas decorations. Set in the snow it gives even more of the spectacular and magic of the winter.
The location is....Lapland and the main characters the broken hearted girl, dumped just before her wedding Silvie and her adventurous blogger friend travel from the grey England for a touch of Christmas spirit each of them following a purpose:Silvie hopes to meet her lover from the past, while Nari wants a new set up for her travel,a picturesque location to give her more theme for the travel blog she had.
My rating for the book is 3 stars, and I'll try to explain it.
I liked the idea, also a white Christmas is something I'm so looking for,so it was lovely to read about, and dream about.I felt like the characters and their stories were kinda superficial,or the author could do a bit more of a job unfolding them. It was a nice parallel between the broken hearted girl that was left and her problems with the ex ,her suffering for the dog she was not allowed to see,for the way she was treated by her ex and his mom,and her friend, the girl that was a free soul, also looking for adventures ,having a relationship that was giving her crumbs of love, and her reaction to the new man that she met, treating everything as a holiday romance. So she wasn't credible from my point of view, when she went back to look for him.
A predictable happy ending story for both women, and a reader that can put aside the book and say that even if the book was a full load of cheesy, and predictable moments it's worth reading at least for having a mental trip to Lapland for Christmas and see white fluffy snowflakes and reindeers.
