I love a good ghost story and a good mystery story even more! And I think most middle age readers will enjoy this book and the mischief that comes with it!
This was such a cute book. I loved the varied representation of race and sexuality. I loved reading where LGBTQ+ characters are there, but it's not a full plot point. This was a good read that I would happily recommend to students.

Many thanks to Victory Editing & NetGalley for allowing me access to this arc in exchange for my honest opinion.
Pliés, Pranks & Hocus Pocus is a really cute short story for middle school preteens. There’s pranks, ballet, Halloween & even a ghost story mixed in there! Some More-serious topics are touched on as well, such as divorce & same-sex relationships. I give it 3 stars & would recommend this book.

This is a perfect middle school ghost story with great characters and a fun plot intertwined with Swan Lake. I really enjoyed getting to know the characters and the mischievous pranks they were pulling off! There were definitely some more serious issues touched upon aswel including bullying, divorced parents, loss of parents, diverse family dynamics, financial problems.
Overall a quick and fun easy read with a great twist.

I couldn’t put this book down. When I did I kept thinking about it. The book follows a young ballerina named Alyssa or Lyssa as she is nicknamed. Her ballet school is performing the Swan Lake after ten years. They haven’t done this dance since a tragic accident that occurred the last time it was performed. She discovers the old costumes for the performance and finds out that the costume for the part of Odette is haunted by Nadia the last girl who played that part. Nadia is trapped in the dress and it is up to Lyssa to find out why and help her cross over. The girls have to work together to solve the mystery of what happened to Nadia and why she is here.
The book is a good mix of fun adventure and intrigue. There is Halloween pranks and a lot of good natured mischief. It’s a fun read.
