A really great story, charming, atmospheric, great characters. Filled me with warmth and spirit. Well written and flowed nicely, was romantic and funny, charming and full of fun. A great read, i really enjoyed it.
This was a brilliant read and is being featured on my blog for my quick star reviews feature, which I have created on my blog so I can catch up with all the books I have read and therefore review.

I discovered Kate Clayborn totally by accident and algorithm and burned through all her books in about a week. Love at First is the story of Will and Nora. Will first sets eyes on Nora when he is sixteen and lurking in the garden of his estranged uncles apartment building, Nora doesn’t see him. The first time Nora sees Will is years later when Wills uncle, a much beloved member of Nora’s apartment block community dies and Will inherits his apartment. Will thinks he will clear it and sell it but Nora has other ideas.
Clayborn specialises in writing ordinary stories about ordinary people struggling with personal issues. In Love at First Clayborn looks at grief and how our ideas of love are influenced by the relationships we see around us. Plot wise her books are very simple but she writes so gracefully about the love and human condition without being preachy or over analysing every single detail. The characters develop and come to resolutions in an organic way that makes sense. Love at First is sweet and lovely and gives me all the feels.
A fantastic book which is well written and completely engaging. I have been completely pulled in and kept hostage by this one.
This is unique, intriguing and one that I have devoured.
A small block of apartments in Chicago is the base of this story. A community that has developed into a a tight family unit.
A love story with a difference. Can decades of barriers stop a couple getting together?
A quick easy read.
Well-written, and lovely the way the romance developed. Great to get Will's the back story. Wonderful cast of minor characters. I really enjoyed it. With thanks to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
As usual in my reviews, I will not rehash the plot (plenty of reviews like that out there already).
For me, this was an "OK read", enjoyable on the whole, but a little slower paced at times. The main characters were both damaged by their families, but had managed to make lives for themselves in spite of that. There is an interesting mix of supporting characters. The overall plot is decent enough but it felt a bit like one of those "feelgood" American movies and I suppose I just couldn't imagine some the scenarios playing out in real life.
Anyway, you'll probably enjoy this if you are looking for a light and easy read with friendship and romance thrown into the mix.
My thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for an ARC. All opinions my own.
This is a sweet, almost naive and heartbreaking slow build romance. Not clean but not a lot of sexual tension either. It’s a darling story and I loved the pace and the feeling of beloved self-made family throughout. Both Will and Nora have childhood issues to overcome. They ignore but finally resolve. A charming romance feel.
