I loved everything about this book. I loved the cover, the characters, the romance, and the pace. At halfway I couldn’t put it down. It had suspense and mystery. The heroine was strong and brave, never afraid to do the right thing but also vulnerable. The hero was everything I love in a man and I just loved how their relationship played out. I highly recommend this well written, very exciting historical fiction. It’s honestly one of the best things I’ve read. I just can’t say enough good things about it.
I chose to listen to this book on audio and Elizabeth Grace was the narrator and she a new favorite of mine. She did a marvelous job and added another layer to it.

Lady Virginia, daughter of the Earl of Braddock, wanted more than just the life of a socialite. When the Great War began, she took the chance to contribute and trained as a nurse. As Sister Ginger Whitman, she serves as a military nurse on the frontlines of Palestine.
A chance encounter with a severely wounded soldier throws her life into chaos.
He is involved in uncovering a plot against the British and entrusts her with vital evidence, but warns her of traitors working in British Intelligence.
In trying to help him she is faced with the difficulty of knowing who to trust. Her fiancé and her best friend prove trustworthy, but as the story unfolds, Ginger experiences betrayal, abandonment and violence.
The story has a fast and exciting pace with plenty of angst and peril.
Definitely not to be missed and the audiobook was excellent. The narrator has a pleasing voice and does a wonderful job of storytelling.

This book was fantastic! Far exceeded my expectations and blasted them out of the water as I was plunged into a world of epic WWll drama, mystery and intrigue.
It was such an entertaining book (or listen in my case- narrated brilliantly!) and I literally couldn’t wait to return to the story whenever I had to drag myself away to put it down. There’s so much to keep you enraptured and on the edge of your seat. I really enjoyed it and I can but hope that there will be more to come!
With a brilliant leading lady - Ginger, a nurse who finds herself deeper into a military mission than she planned; the book is bound to give you plenty to sink your teeth into. With the plot twists and turns, romance and the strength that Ginger displays in all she faces really made for a brilliant book.
It’s definitely worthy of its 5 stars that’s for sure!
When Ginger Whitman left behind her life of wealth and privilege to nurse on the front lines in Palestine in 1917, she expects blood, pain and death. But she soon finds herself swept up into the shadowy world of espionage, when a dying soldier entrusts her with a code that he says provides information about a plot against British forces. Ginger wants to help Great Britain and hopefully save lives in the process, but knowing who to trust proves to be almost impossible. She finds herself drawn to British intelligence officer, Noah Benson, who offers her his help, but can she trust him? Pursued by the enemy, Ginger will have to decide who she can trust with her heart and her very life. This is an exciting World War I story, Ginger is likable and sharp. Grace is a superb narrator, breathing life into the story
