Oh this book is good and will leave you on the edge of your seat. So maybe the plot of the missing girl has been done a time or two but it will keep you entertained. Emily (the main character) is last seen leaving the party with Alex (a playboy). As you can guess based on the title of the book, she goes missing. Three other girls, old friends: Morgan, Catherine, and Leslie are brought into the book to face each other and answer some questions. Everyone is hiding something and it all plays out in the book. It wasn't the most inventive but kept me entertained.
Interesting but not really my cup of tea. Well written I just personally couldn’t get into the story. A tight knit neighborhood - a teen goes missing. But everyone isn’t talking. Who knows the truth about the night that Emily went missing after the party? I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I loved this book! I was hooked from the very first page and could not put it down until I had answers. This is definitely not your typical thriller. I experienced plot twists I never would have guessed !
This another suburban story with families that have secrets. The new girl, Emily,, goes missing after a party. A lot of secrets come out and one person wants to make sure her family's secrets stay secret.
I must be in the majority because I thought this just dragged on and on. The premise was interesting but I quickly lost interest the more I read. If you like the "domestic dramas" this is for you.
Kindly received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Everything about this book is PERFECT. It's dark, compelling, and encompasses one of my favorite things- domestic issues within a community. I think they refer to this as "suburban drama" or "suburban thrillers". Whatever it is, it's my favorite and I loved this one from start to finish! I highly recommend this one.
Carter and Catherine Callahan move their family back to his small Texas hometown after a scandal involving Catherine's job. Their oldest, Emily, was not happy about the move and having to start her senior year in a new school. After only a few months in town Emily goes missing after a party. We follow multiple characters in this novel. Morgan and Leslie are two mothers in town who think their children would do no wrong. It appears that no one in this small community is as they seem.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book for review.
This was an intriguing, twisty, and fast paced read that was hard to put down. The story is told in multiple POV, and gives you insight into each character and the complexities of their relationships with one another. I preferred some characters over others, and outright loathed a few; for example, the character of Rosalyn was the absolute worst and it frustrated me that not enough people stood up to her or that she had a redeeming arc/“changed her ways” in the end. The small town setting also added to the tense atmosphere.
There were some events in the third act that stretched believability for me and felt like an overdramatized TV movie (an attempted kidnapping, the drugging of a character by 2 separate people, for example).
Talk about dark and twisted! The Night She Went Missing, is easily going to break the internet! Kristen Bird has a way of telling a story like no other. I can not wait to see what network will pick up this storyline!!!!
This is a story about loyalty and deceit . Not everything is what it seems. What was once considered a tight knit Texas town, is now being ripped right open and the parents are being exposed for all of their bad behavior .
Emily is missing. Emily was last seen leaving a party with Alex, the boy with a playboy reputation. What started out as a night out with friends is left with everyone wondering, what happened to Emily?
Morgan, Leslie, and Catherine used to be friends, now you cant quite describe them as such. Their lives have been completely turned upside down and now they must face one another to get the answers to their questions.
Everyone has secrets, and now they are about to be exposed.
This is a total nail biter and I was on the edge of my seat the entire time! I absolutely loved this story and I was sucked right in with the first chapter. This is a must read for all!!! Tune in February 8, 2022 to find out what happened to Emily!
A small Texas community is divided after a teenage girl goes missing. Emmy disappeared after a party, she was last seen with football player, Alex, a kid with a less than sterling reputation. As former friends turn on each other in search of the truth about their children, this small community is ready to combust. A fun, twisty novel of domestic suspense
