I was intrigued by the cover, book title and the blurb, so I decided to give it a shot and it did not disappoint! Basically, I'm a sucker for the forced proximity and only one bed tropes, and well, Unchained just added to their appeal.

I loved Brooks and Cam's story. It was a (hot) fast paced love story, basically lust at first sight that turns to love in a matter of a few days. I had to fan myself a few times and remind myself to breathe. Next to that, it was quite action packed, which was nice because it gave the book an extra element beside the romance.

Before requesting it on NetGalley, I hadn't checked if it was a standalone or not. Turns out it's the third book in the series, which I didn't know when I started reading. I guess I can tell you that it can be read as a standalone if you're willing to let the mystery of Lionsgate be what it is - a mystery. I guess I'll need to read the first book to get an explanation as to what the organization really is.

So, 5 stars from me because it ticked all the boxes and the story never lulled.

I'm.so so glad I found this author. With each book, she ups her game. Unchained is the best yet. Unique plots, fascinating characters and world building, Wilde over delivers with Brooks and Cam's story. This is surely romantic suspense at its best.

UNCHAINED is the third instalment in Samantha Wilde’s contemporary, adult BLOOD BROTHERS romantic suspense series. This is RN Camryn Bayfield, and Brooks Ivanov’s story line. UNCHAINED can be read as a stand alone but for back story and cohesion I recommend reading book one BOUND. Brooks is Alexis ‘Lexi’ Ivanov’s brother (BOUND).

NOTE: UNCHAINED focuses on human medical experiments, and therefore there is a slight sci-fi aspect to the story line.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise there may be some triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Cam and Brooks) UNCHAINED follows months after the disappearance of Alexis Ivanov’s brother Brooks. Camryn Bayfield is a new hire at a rehabilitation clinic but from the outset Camryn is suspicious about the treatment and descriptions of many of its’ patients. On her first night, Camryn comes faces to face with a beaten and bruised man named Brooks, who claims the rehab centre is nothing more than a front for human experimentation. Against her better judgement, Camryn releases our hero, and finds herself on the run in an effort to protect the man with whom she is falling in love. Enter Brooks Ivanov. What ensues is the building relationship between Brooks and Cam, and the fall-out as both of their past have targeted our couple as a means to an end.

Brooks Ivanov has very little memory beyond the previous few months having survived abuse and a series of experiments meant to turn him into a killing machine. With each subsequent injection, Brooks becomes more animal than human, and in this he is the perfect foil for a mad man determined to control his little part of the world. Camryn Bayfield is a nurse, hiding in plain sight, on the run from a dangerous past. Suspecting everything about her new job was a lie, Camryn risked her own life to save the life of a man she knew nothing about. On the run, once again, Camryn and Brooks struggle to stay one step ahead of the people demanding the return of our story line hero.

The relationship between Camryn and Brooks is one of immediate attraction but Brooks is in no condition to look after himself. Beaten, abused and drugged, Brooks needs time to heal but getting them to safety the first in a long list of getting revenge. The $ex scenes are passionate and seductive without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are reintroduced to Dash and Alexis (Bound 1), Dare and Tessa (Traced 2), Cole Holmes and Camryn’s mother Linda. The requisite evil has many faces.

UNCHAINED is a story of betrayal, revenge, power and control; illegal human bondage and experiments, family, friendships, relationships and love. The premise is heart breaking, tragic ,haunting and raw; the romance is spirited and provocative; the characters are edgy, determined and intense.

Unchained grabs ahold of you from the first page and doesn't shake loose.  It's fast-paced action, danger and pure thrill!

Cam is on the run and in hiding from the dangers of her past. She's trying to start over new and finds a nursing job at what she thinks is a rehabilitation center. Soon she finds out that is not the case when she is treating her first patient, Brooks.

Brooks has been taken captive and used as a test subject against his will for a new drug that causes his body to become faster and stronger among other benefits. However, it also causes him to lose his memory and control over his rage. Seeing the abuse Brooks has endured, Cam helps him escape and they have to go on the run together in order to survive. They are challenged with re-capture, Brooks memory issues and Cam's past catching up with them.

Throughout this adventure, their romance builds in a slow burn that was very entertaining and I really enjoyed these two characters. The action kept me engaged and I didn't want to stop reading. Overall, I found this book to be entertaining, captivating and well written.

Another great addition to the series which has will both keep you on the edge and push your emotional buttons

Brooks was the missing brother from the first book (who I thought might be the focus of the second book actually, but still…) and wow was his story worth waiting for.

Small hints towards the Lionsgate links which are the running theme here but overall a lovely stand-alone story which has a lot of fantastic features. Suspenseful and exciting with a hefty dose of romance and a good insight into coming Characters…mysterious Cole seems to be the next brother in line with a throwaway line about Dallas also dropping strong hints his story would be another good one too!!

A fantastic series overall and a really great read in this book, not to be missed

Brooks Ivanov is Lexi's brother that went missing in the first book after uncovering secrets about the Lionsgate Corporation. He was captured and sold to a company as a drug trial test subject. The drug he's injected with makes him stronger and faster with amazing healing abilities, but makes him lose his memories. He's become a killing machine after injection but sedated the rest of the time. Until he meets a nurse that gives him a kind touch and hope.
Camryn Bayfield takes a new job at a rehab hospital in Utah. Red flags go up on her first day however when the single story hospital is actually a 12 floor facility...underground. Her patients are kept like prisoners and sedated most of the time. Patient 36 in particular raises concerns when she finds him restrained, bloodied and dirty. If these patients are recovering from injuries, why do his bruises look fresh? Cam helps him escape, but can't leave him alone due to the crippling withdrawals, and now they're on the run. As the only successful recipient of their drug trial, they'll never let him go.
Now with his memories returning, Brooks reconnects with his sister Lexi, her husband Nash, and the rest of the Holmes brothers, determined to fight back against his abusers.
I'm loving this whole series and can't wait to find out what happens next. Will we finally find out why Cole is so secretive and dangerous? Or will it be the mysterious Dallas next?
I received an advance reader copy of this book through NetGalley. The views and opinions expressed in this review are completely my own and given voluntarily.

It's no secret that I loved the first two books in this series by Ms.. Wilde and I could not wait to read Brooks' story and believe me, it exceeded all my expectations! It was more exciting and thrilling than I had anticipated. It starts off with a bang and never lets up. If you love fast-paced, action-packed, heart-pounding romantic suspense, you will love this book! I felt as though I was watching a movie at times because the plot and the characters were so well done. Brooks' character has been through hell and back and my heart absolutely broke for the poor man. Ms. Wilde could not have done a better job in the development of Cam's character -- she's everything I look for in a heroine and she's the absolute perfect match for Brooks. This was a very emotional, intense read that I couldn't put down and thoroughly and immensely enjoyed! I would suggest reading the previous 2 books in the series to get the most enjoyment out of this series which is fast becoming a favorite of mine! I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.

❤️❤️❤️❤️
💋💋

I came into this series at book 2, so a little late to be precise, and I wasn’t convinced I’d follow the storyline, but I have, and book 3 is wonderful and a great, entertaining read.

It’s full of drama and intrigue, has brilliant characters some old , some new.
It also has a few twists and is totally mind consuming, which for me is great.

A Great, four star read.

Am so thrilled I have another favourite writer to add to my collection - Samantha Wilde writes the romantic suspense I love to read. I first came across her with Traced, went back and read Bound and am now onto Unchained. All books can be read as standalones but I think reading them in order would give the premium enjoyment - yes, I am a read in order nerd!

Here we have the 3rd book in this series, Unchained, which features Camryn who is a nurse and is desperately trying to keep under the radar and Brooks, who has been held captive and experimented on against his will in the hospital Camryn has just got a job at.

The story is slightly predictable in the sense that they meet, she has great compassion for him and so gets very much involved in trying to help him escape. But it has to be said that Ms Wildes writing is a hold-on-tight-this-is-going-to-be-a-wild-rollercoaster-ride and it was! The sexual tension was through the roof and the suspense angle was gauged so well that for me it was another 5⭐ read. I hope that she does do some more books in this series with other secondary character's we have met along the way.

This series is the first one I have read by Samantha and let me tell you, it keeps getting better and better. My favorite of this series so far. My heart was racing right along with Brooks and Cam. The action is non-stop (I happen to love that) and the perils are endless. Samantha definitely knows how to get the blood pumping and wondering what the heck can happen next to these people. A story that seems all to real (heaven help us) that gets you thinking. A fantastic story.

In general, I like it. With a physically altering shot, some suspension of belief is necessary. On top of that, though, I have to believe a mad scientist allows all people who work for him to go anywhere in his testing facility, they can create a crazy drug but can't track phones, and the mad scientist didn't have Cam's car chipped. I love the writing, I just had to put a lot aside in the beginning.

This is the third book in this wonderful series and while you don't need to read the earlier two to get into this one do yourself a favour and read the entire series

This is Brook and Cam's story she is a nurse that has recently started work at a new place and something doesn't feel quite right and she is questioning the ethics of what is going on here. Brook is a prisoner in the same complex tortured and drugged so he has lost his memory and just become a killing machine But the connection is there between Brook and Cam Soon she is helping him to escape and slowly the drugs work out of his system allowing him to retrieve his memories but meanwhile danger is closing in on Cam Can he keep her safe and get them both to people who can help. Be prepared for a wonderful adventure as these two find their place with one another

Book 3 in the Blood Brothers series.
This is my least favorite book of the series so far :(
Not to say I didn't enjoy it, but there was a bit of a sci-fi element which I wasn't crazy about- and there was some unnecessary repetition.
All that said... the writing is still great, and Brooks and Cam are absolutely adorable.
It may not be my fave in the series but I still didn't want to put it down and will definitely be continuing on with this series (still hoping Cole gets a book!)

3.5 ⭐

Unchained is the third book in the Blood Brothers Series but is the first I'm actually reading.

I loved every bit of the story particularly the plot, and while some of it wanted to seem unnatural to me like when Cam went up to level 12 instead of 7 out of curiosity, I realized that this is actually how the human mind works.

Curiosity drives us to do unthinkable things...sometimes.
I loved the romance too, not cliché and refreshing.

I particularly liked how the male character was shown to be vulnerable, it gladdened my heart and I absolutely love our heroine Cam.

I'm definitely going to be reading books 1 and 2 and can't wait to read more about Cole and Dallas in the next book (if there'll be any)

Many thanks to NetGalley for my copy!

Thank you to the author Samantha Wilde and NetGalley for allowing me access to this ARC. I enjoyed this book and read it entirely within two settings of the same day. I am new to this author and series, and wasn't aware that this is the third book, but nevertheless enjoyed it.

A little different than the NA, contemporary, or fantasy genres I usually tend towards, "Unchained" is an action packed book following couple, Brooks and Camryn. Camryn is a nurse who takes on a new job where she meets "patient" Brooks, and immediately senses that something is not right within this new workplace. From there, the couple go through twists and turns to escape all the evils in the world.

A very enjoyable read indeed! I do wish there was a little more spicy scenes, as there was just so much sexual tension brewing throughout the book! Regardless, I'm excited to dive a little bit deeper into Samantha Wilde's work!

Thank you to NetGalley and to Ms. Wilde for the opportunity to read an ARC of Unchained. An honest review was requested but not required.

I'm a newcomer to Samantha Wilde, and I have not read either of the preceding Blood Brothers series novels. Frankly, I don't think it particularly mattered as previous characters were referenced and/or appeared late in the book, but their impact on the story was minimal.

I was REALLY into the beginning of the book. I loved Camryn's turmoil with the medical ethics of the situation she found herself in. Brooks' questionable mental and physical status made the interactions between him and Cam a little suspenseful. I liked that the author didn't shy away depicting Brooks' breakout attempts (which were in reality would be very graphic scenes) realistically. Camryn and Brooks' run from their respective pursuers was gripping: I LOVE cat-and-mouse hunts, and the sexual tension was humming right along too.

The first two thirds were really good but the last third was a bit of a letdown. I thought both main characters made some, well, downright dumb decisions. Their, uh, party of helpers (don't wish to spoil) were also surprisingly inept. Oh geez, I don't think there's any way to say this without spoiling. Ok. THIS IS A SPOILER! I thought these guys were some sort of bad-ass commandos or something, the way they were planning their big assassination strike, and then to get handed their asses repeatedly by a balding middle-aged DOCTOR and a bunch of rented guards?! SERIOUSLY? And then Camryn says "she wants to handle things alone" and they just AGREE and hand her a gun and say "don't make me regret this"?????????????? ARE YOU SERIOUS.

OK. Wooo-sa. Wooo-saaaaaah. I guess I didn't buy into that part, is what I'm saying.
I feel like that would be a hard scene to write - lots of moving parts - so I hate to downgrade a book for it, but ultimately it really impacted my opinion of the characters. Really good premise, really good start, just fell apart a bit in the execution.

I liked the beginning a lot though so I'd definitely try another by this author.

Whew this one was a ride. Good story. Lots of action. (Both kinds of action) I felt the middle got a little too long, but good story

I voluntarily received a copy of "Unchained" via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

How is this just so damn good!

"Unchained" by Samantha Wilde is the third book of the Blood Brothers series. This one follows our coupe Brooks and Camryn (Cam). Brooks has been enslaved, tortured and experimented on so when he makes eye contact with Cam he thinks shes the same as his captors. But Cam isn't. Its her first day at a new job while in hiding and she is inexplicably drawn to Brooks. She knows somethings wrong here... and she can't leave him. On the run from both of their pasts they slowly fall in love while danger looms around every corner.

Every book in this series has been amazing. This one is a solid 5 stars in my opinion! Brooks is a big, tough, cinnamon roll. And is absolutely so caring to Cam. And Cam is such a great heroine. She is incredibly caring and so loyal. And since shes a nurse and hes been experimented on we get some wonderdul nursing back to health!

As usual with Samantha Wildes writing I adore the romance and love how fast past she writes these stories. So much is going on and yet the way it goes down you can't help but want to go for the ride.

The only complaint I have about this book is there is only one sex. The sexual tension was so hot throughout the book and these poor characters deserved a whole lot more alone time.

TW: Violence, torture
