A collection of stories about sex that leaves you guessing who wrote what. Many diverse authors explore the spectrum of desire, obsession , domination, love, and even sex in the afterlife.

An interesting book to read , from the enticing cover to the individual stories.! It was not something I would have expected - it is written as anonymous for privacy and therefore freely - and it is fun trying to tie author to their contribution which I could not do nor did I expect to. Some stories were kinda out there but maybe written as
fantasy or were real, it is hard to tell but all in all a wide choice to chose from. Thanks Net Galley for this book.

What caught my eye on this ARC was that it's a compilation of stories/essays/musings by various authors. Those authors are listed alphabetically, their stories are not. You read the stories not knowing who wrote them. No point of reference. I read a few of the stories that I really enjoyed. (a bit out of my comfort zone though).
Thanks to Scribner and NetGalley for the ARC of this book.
3stars

I went into this thinking I would want to figure out or make guesses as to who wrote what stories, but I quickly figured out that was going to be difficult. I couldn't read every story, but this was an interesting project with an interesting premise. I'm not quite sure who the audience would be, though.

I really liked the concept of this book. So often a book is promoted based on who wrote it versus what the book is about. The anonymity also allows for a real glimpse into sexual variation without an author catering to a genre. I loved that none of the stories could be attributed to a certain author. While I wasn't a huge fan of a lot of the stories, I did really get into a few. It was interesting to see the different viewpoints of what some might find sexually intriguing and the impact it can have on their lives. It opens your eyes to many different aspects of sexuality that I would recommend others to read about. It opens your eyes to different concepts of sexuality without any chance to complain that an author got it wrong. I think everyone could benefit from seeing things from a different viewpoint without having any chance to criticize another for it. I was, however, a little disappointed that a lot of the stories felt like a teaser chapter instead of a complete short story. For that reason I gave it 4 stars. Overall, I would recommend this book.
Thank you NetGalley for sending me a copy of this ARC.

Great writing and I love how all of the stories are different. Some are heartbreaking and some are absolutely steamy! Loved them all! The fun might be in guessing who is who.

I received an Advanced Reader copy from Netgalley for my honest review. The book has short stories written by notable authors. They are anonymous so that you do not know which author wrote which story. Some of the stories have more depth than others. The title intrigued me. The premise is interesting. I wanted to know which author wrote each story, but that would ruin the idea of animosity.

Anonymous Sex by Hillary Jordan, Cheryl Lu-Lien Tan, and many more was a bit disappointing. I was expecting more erotica and less demure conversation. The stories were short and non-judgmental which made them easy to get through. All in all, well written stories just not what I was expecting.
***** I received an ARC from NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for my honest review. *****

First, thank you so much to NetGalley for this advance copy of Anonymous Sex.
What a fantastic idea, so credibly and trickily executed: The book is titled Anonymous Sex, and it's a compilation of stories/essays/musings by various authors. Those authors are listed alphabetically, their stories are not. You read the stories not knowing who wrote them. No point of reference. Whether you think the story is based on truth, whether the author wrote the story more freely knowing that the reader didn't quite know who wrote it...........I'm not sure.
Some of the stories may be true, they may reflect the author's longings or retellings. Some stories are in the very distant past, and some told in the much distant future. They may be about sex, or what someone thinks is sexy. It's a lot.
I loved the variety, and I felt that all the stories were told very freely. Each story fit its own style perfectly, whether short or long, graphic or illusory. It's probably a book I never would have thought to pick up and read. Yes, the title is rather inviting, but the body of the book is so much more.
I really can't go into any of the stories, as it might be telling in just that, and I would not want to spoil any one author's contribution.
Let's just say that if you are willing to take a leap of faith here, you may really enjoy yourself.
I really recommend this book!

I enjoyed reading some of the stories and found some of them a little boring. It's really fun to try to match the short story to the writer, especially if you're familiar with their non-erotic literature.

Thank you Netgalley for this ARC. This is a compilation of fiction short stories by various authors who are listed at the front of the book. There are some very well known authors, however it's up to the reader to attempt at guessing who wrote what. I didn't love every story, but Anonymous Sex was a fun read. I recommend to just open it and begin reading, if it's not for you, skip to the next story. I think you will find it quite entertaining.

I received a complimentary copy of Anonymous Sex from NetGalley. Opinions in this review are entirely my own.
I have not finished this book and may not do so. I would say that of the first 5 or so stories, most are absent of the advertised content. Although I love to read, I am dreading picking this book up again. : (

Wow, this book is filled with juicy stories and it will make you want to hide out and read it in one sitting. I am not sure who wrote all theses stories but, it definitely had me scouring the internet looking for clues based on the writing styles. I think this book will be loved by everyone who enjoyed contemporary romance novels.

Overall I most stories were a bit boring. More literary than erotica. ARC provided by NetGalley in exchange for a fair review.

Thank you to NetGalley and Scribner for providing the arc of Anonymous Sex by approximately 27 authors, in exchange for my honest review.
What caught my attention with this book was the fact that they are short stories written anonymously. The authors could write whatever they wanted without putting their name on it. The stories range from sweet, innocent sex to hardcore BDSM, young love to elderly love, and everything in between, cheating, kink, revenge, unrequited, funny, and so on. There’s a little bit for everyone.
I wanted to LOVE this because I love the concept, but it fell a little flat for me. I found myself skipping over stories that I couldn’t get into - which I guess is fine. I think the hardest thing for me was the shortness of the stories. Everything felt very rushed and reminded me of Literotica but in a book form. I think if you’re open-minded and enjoy reading various erotic stories, you’ll find something in here to enjoy. I know I found a few and that’s why I’m giving this 3 stars. The stories I enjoyed were great.
If you’re into erotica, I’d recommend giving it a go, I’m sure you’ll find something the tickles your fancy.

An interesting collection of short stories that is bound to have something for everyone. The stories are well written and a quick read.

The stories aren't about anonymous sex, they are stories by the authors mentioned in the beginning of the book. No stories are attributed to its author. Some of the stories are steamy, some will have you shaking your head. You get to choose who the author is for every story.

This book was…let’s say interesting. Some stories were great where some were strange and written to sound poetic and just not my cup of tea.

wasn't a huge fan of this one. dnf'ed. felt a little lackluster and overall wasn't for me. scenes didn't particularly appeal to me, so I would recommend you look into summaries before picking this up to make sure there is something that interests you. as far as erotica goes, this isn't one of my favorite, but it wasn't awful.

Thanks to Netgalley for the advanced read copy! Unfortunately this book wasn't for me, and I think I knew that from the get go. I'm not into short stories for one thing and I also am not into erotica in any sort of literature way. I usually skim over those sections in books, just doesn't do anything for me and a waste of precious reading time. That being said, I got about 60% through this book, with a lot of skimming involved. I just couldn't bring myself to continue, I had no interest, there's no depth for me. I'm sure others will love this book, but it wasn't for me. Sorry Netgalley! I wish I could give a better review!
