David Siegel's bona fides certainly make him qualified to share the lessons promised by this book. However, the first 40 pages are so weighed down by I/me/my that any lessons to be learned were lost. Reading further, I came to realize that all wisdom that he had to impart could be shared in a dozen tightly written PowerPoint bullet slides, maybe illustrated with team pictures that could prove that while he did lead, he had others behind him.

The primary job of any new leader is to make smart decisions - and this books shows you how to do this when you are in the midst of crisis, fire-fighting when the water has run out and everyone is looking at you to have the magical solution.... and you have just started the job.
Skim chapter one which has an extended personal bio of the author, and focus on the excellent key learning experiences.
