ANOTHER FRUSTRATING CLIFF HANGER. I think I enjoyed this book more than the first one, but not sure I'm looking forward to where the next one might be headed. While fun to read, the plot does at times get repetitive and the characters get boring and don't seem to have much character development. It's a great mindless, steamy read which we all desperately need at times.
Are people going to want to read this? Yes, yes they will. Do I recommend it? No I sure don't, but libraries should stock some copies!
Not for me. Sorry! Thank you for the ARC but I’m not into the 50 Shades meets the mafia. The synopsis made me thing the story would be more of a thriller instead of romance.
Ok so I loved the first book and the first movie and I was hoping that this one was going to be amazing. But that just wasn't the case. I have to say that this seems to be the worst book ive read this year.
a great book. wonderful characters. amazing setting. good flow. I didn't want this book to end. Blanka forms a vivid world. great sequel.
Loved that this picked up right where 365 days ended! I liked getting the little pieces of backstory and reading everything they went through together. I did have a hard time getting into it at first but it definitely picked up and now I can't wait to see what happens in the next one. These books really leave you wanting more with the cliffhangers.
Many readers waited for 365 DNI to be translated into English. The wait ended in early 2021. I had many mixed emotions as I read the book. I was excited. I had seen the movie. As far as action, sexiness and chemistry - it was yes, yes, and hell yes! Sadly, there was not enough content in the movie. To my surprise, the book closely mirrored the movie and even filled in some gaps. Book #1, 365 DNI, ends on a cliff. What happened to Laura? What will Don Massimo do without her?
I was intrigued and willing to take a chance on book #2, This Day. I was hoping for more content. I wanted to love this book so bad! I am crushed! This Day did not rise to the occasion. I am sadly disappointed.
Here are my thoughts:
What happened to the cliff situation in book #1? Neither the prologue nor chapter one explains anything.
Laura is so materialistic to the point of overkill. How many times can you go shopping? Fashion. What should she wear? A constant concern for her appearance. This made her seem shallow.
Laura doesn’t have common sense or see the obvious things like the tattooed gardener showing up. She is careless.
She kept pushing Don Massimo’s buttons challenging him in extreme ways.
Don Massimo has many over the top moments; micro-managing Laura’s bank accounts, having a chip in her car and phone. Buying cars, boats, houses. He is still possessive and passionate.
Sex, sex, sex! I can’t believe I am going to say this but there is too much sex! The violent sex was unappealing, not sexy. Seriously, how many BJ’s can you give on one day?
“Hit me, don Massimo!”
"…he grabbed my hair with one hand and my throat with the other".
I thought Don Massimo was Italian? Laura talked about his British accent.
This Day is very predictable at times.
So, those are my thoughts. I am so sad. This Day lacked substance. There are so many amazing ways the story could have branched out. So many secondary characters that I would have loved to have read about. Don Massimo and Laura’s wild ride was a circle of sex and kidnapping. The push and pull between the hero and heroine was not there as it was in 365 DNI.
The story heads in a completely different direction at about 80 percent. The ending is another cliff. I don’t think I need to know what happens next.
As far as the next “365” movie goes – count me in. Netflix has done a great job with amazing scenery, action and sexiness. I am very curious to see if the story improves with a screen writer.

Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Okay, I struggled through this book. This storyline can only go on for so long. It has gotten a bit tedious. It's a lot of sex and mobsters and kidnapping. I was ready to call it quits and 80% of the way through the book, I convinced myself I wasn't reading the third book. But then Blanka Lipinska got me with that ending! What a cliffhanger! Now, I have to pick up the third book whenever it's released. I almost wish I would have stopped halfway through the book like I wanted to.
I ended this book feeling unfulfilled. I’m not sure if it’s an issue with being translated over or if it’s just the writing. But more often than not I found myself having to reread paragraphs because I kept feeling like I missed something. The story and writing was not smooth and felt very much like a rough draft that wasn’t sure which direction it needed to take. I won’t be posting this review as maybe it will be updated prior to publishing tor US market.
My rating scale:
5☆ - I loved this book and it brought out true emotion in me (laughter, anger, a good cry, etc)
4☆ - I loved this book.
3☆ - I liked this book.
2☆ - I didn't really care for this book.
1☆ - I did not like this book at all and probably did not finish it.
Laura is one strong woman. She has no filter and says what she wants. Massimo is one intimidating man. He is all alpha and doesn’t let anything get in the way of what he wants. Loved all the twist and turns in this story. Could not wait to see where everything was going. Would have liked the story to go on and not end where it did.
Wow what a crazy ride! Lifestyles of the sexually charged ladies and their mafia men. Nothing remotely shy about this book! Great character development that enriched this bad boy story.
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book
I absolutely love this series! It is definitely not for everyone and has a lot of dark themes, but I have really enjoyed both books in the series so far. This was a great continuation of the first book and I am very excited to see the movie adaptation of it. The English translation in this book was also much better than the first, which was nice. I can't wait for the next book!
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC!
I did not realize this was a trilogy! I liked continuing the story of Massimo and Laura, I got frustrated alot with her and her tantrums. I understand the trauma but it was SO much back and forth. I could have done without the pregnancy. It added an element that I didn't enjoy. towards the end (again i didnt realize it was a trilogy) I was confused as to how things would wrap up. I did not see the cliffhanger coming or the return of an old character. Oh and that OTHER bad boy ... ? color me interested
I know this is a 2022 release but I really hope we dont have to wait until 2023 for the final book.
thank you to Atria for reaching out and granting me this widget :)
Well, I did not say much good about 365 Days but the cliffhanger at the end sure made me want to read more. So when I saw this ARC up for grabs I decided why the hell not.
Check out my more detailed thoughts below…
Characters: Both Laura and Massimo bugged me throughout this book in their own special ways. Laura made me want to strangle her and yell wtf in her face. Without spoiling you she is just a big hypocrite. While Laura’s character at least tries to go through so development. For example, she exerted herself more and I did like that. Massimo being in love and having a baby has not changed him one bit. He was such a misogynist when it came to having a boy over a girl. This is a minor spoiler but it is at the very very beginning of the novel, that Massimo messed with Laura’s birth control. That is never cool and I was livid with him for the rest of the story. The best character in this story is Olga, thank god for her, she made it a bit more bearable. I liked Domenico in the first book and then as this book went on I got annoyed with him too.
Setting: The setting jumps around quite a bit in this instalment, mostly from Poland to Italy. I do love being in Sicily but wish they explored the setting more. Especially when Olga came to visit it produced the perfect opportunity.
Pacing: The pacing was weird. This book felt way too long. The events seemed to happen in a whack kind of order. I liked the pacing the movie set up better than the book. Some of the events that come in the latter part of this book are already set up by the movie. This Day ended on a cliffhanger so yes they got me hooked to see where book three goes.
Romance: I cannot believe I am going to say this. This book had too much sex. The balance was way better in the first instalment. As they just kept having sex, it lost all its impact and the scenes began to blend together. I did like that Laura was getting pushier in bed. It was nice to see them swap the dynamics from time to time. But honestly, this book was either Laura and Massimo having sex or Laura running away to somewhere cause of a misunderstanding, there was nothing in between.
This pretty much picks up where book 1 ends.. Laura telling Massimo that she is pregnant with there baby.. then tragedy.. once Laura is safe.. and after the wedding Laura catches Massimo in the act with another woman.. or does she..? See Massimo has a twin...
The book is full of danger, suspense, drama, absolute craziness the whole way thru..
Thank you Netgalley and the Author/Publisher for allowing me the opportunity to read this book. I am looking forward to the next one to get the conclusion..
I was really looking forward to this book after finishing the first one and thankfully it picks up right where 365 Days left off. The cliffhanger will also leave you dying to know what happens in the next book. I'm very impatient so it's killing me to know we have to wait so long!! The sex scenes were ramped up in this one and boy were they steamy! I can't wait for more of Laura and Massimo!
I received this as an ARC for an honest review....
This book leaves off right where the last one ended with telling Massimo that Laura was pregnant with their baby. Laura and Massimo get married and we find out that Massimo has a twin that is a carbon copy of him. When Laura thinks everything is perfect she finds "Massimo" Cheating on her with Anna. She leaves with Olga for 2 months. When we get the full story that it was Massimo's twin who is in love with Anna and that is who she saw, Olga and Laura return back to Sicily with Massimo. Laura now has to deal with all the lies that are floating around to make sure things stay in line. What happens when Laura doesn't follow Massimo's security orders? What happens when Laura's Heart issues come in to play with being pregnant?
As an English reader have to remember that this is translated so it isn't perfect nor is it words that we would use to describe something. I enjoyed Massimo's characters development still. Laura is a bit much for me and I am not sure if it is because she is pregnant or just is the way she is but there are moments that you just want to be like "Hello you are married to a mafia boss so you just need to deal with it." The spice was great and the moments that were good between the couple were wonderful! I was happy with them! I really am not okay with the cliff hanger of this book I am so ready for the 3rd to figure out what is chosen.
This Day by Blanka Lipinska completely steamed up the pages of my kindle- and I loved every minute of this epic mafia erotic romance. I can't wait for the next book in this sexy saga!
Will not be reading this because I was extremely disturbed by the contents of 365 days. Abuse, violence, kidnapping, crime cannot be classified as romance or love.
